I agree that having multiple streams of income is a good idea. Having passive income is a nice idea, but getting that set up isn't so easy. I've tried to setting up a side hustle so I can have another source of income, but I ended up with maxed out credit cards trying to get the side hustle going. I'm still working on getting rid of that debt. When I think of other ideas that I could pursue that could be a side hustle (like writing a book, starting a Twitch stream, or freelancing), I immediately think that I couldn't provide enough value for others to justify starting that side hustle. I don't know if anyone else has felt or is feeling similarly, but that's where I'm at.
You are right.
Turning 60 next month - started collecting my state pension six months ago, still working part-time, and strong cash on cash on a rental property. Things are good.
That last call was rough! Hope Garrett finds a way to get out of his own way!
Own 6 rentals (passive income) had to go work on a dishwasher. Took a couple hrs and 50.00 part. Wasn’t a lot but shows it’s not passive
Agree! I've painted walls, done flooring, etc. It's nice when things are quiet and running smoothly but there are those moments.
Between me and my husband, we both work full time jobs and part time. If it wasn't for our passive incomes we won't be able to enjoy life and save.
What about our culture and society. It used to be one middle class income not only took care of a family, but allowed the family to thrive, retire, and pass on a legacy. Now, we need 2 full time career incomes, plus a side hussle, plus x amount of passive income streams to survive. I mean this show is about finding a job you're passionate about, because our jobs now consume our whole lives. It's way out of balance. When my dad was 20, a full time minimum wage job would cover rent and food with about 50% of his income. When I was 20, the same used up pretty much 100% of my income. And as my kids approach this age, a full time minimum wage job doesn't even cover rent. They will need 160% of a full time minimum wage job to get the four walls.
Can you work your butt off and make it? Yes absolutely. But is it really worth it? At the end of our lives, do we really want to have just built a career? Why don't we have family time available anymore? That's why there's burnout in my opinion. Normal has become an always on, always connected, corporate owns you, 24/7, unrelenting, back against the wall race, for a bunch of crap I don't even want anyways!
It's not sustainable. I actually hope our current society collapses. Socialism is toxic and destructive, but perhaps it's the natural reaction to the toxic place capitalism has landed us.
The dog sitting on a tack. Every so often the dog yelps but it doesn't hurt enough to actually move.
I worked for an insurance company nine years before being laid off due to AI that is slowly taking over larger and larger portions of their business. I know this because some of my friends are still there. The company pocketing the profits and increasing premiums and letting go entire departments at times. Sure they give you severance and a head hunter, but after those end, you end up making a lot less, sometimes end up being mistreated, lied to, robbed of raises and used.
Oh yes!! I sure do need this one this Monday morning 🧡
Great analysis all throughout the show, love it
First, great jail house rock look. Should’ve played that at the end. Thank you Ken. As I wash dishes and do my house chores, or drive while being at work, you are a wealth of knowledge. That paper ruffling, cracks me up.
Must continue paper ruffling.
That Burnout section is spot on.
The shows are getting better and better 💪👏
Agreed! 💯

Thank You Ken
I don't know about not having $100% passive income. Reits/dividend stocks or if you REALLY want stability, reit/dividend etf's are pretty much passive. They require money to make money though so you'll need an active/semi-active income stream to fund them.
I wish I could find a career that I love and would pay well. I am 39 and feel so lost. Due to the fact that I worked for colleges I was able to get masters degrees for free. I used the time to get several masters. No matter how hard I work at my job in the university I am constantly being told I must do more. I can't find anything else that both pays well and that I like. I have prayed and researched and cannot find anything. God-much like a real father-is remote and silent.
I had originally wanted to join the foreign service but I foolishly let my family talk me into law school-which didn't work out at all. I then ended up getting into enrollment counseling. I have more or less been there for the past decade. Don't ruin your lives like I ruined mine. I'm 39, but I am dead inside.
Hey mate, that must be really hard to handle. I encourage you to keep seeking God and praying, we aren't meant to find our life's contentment and satisfaction through our job, or house, or income - it's through God. Hang in there mate, praying for you.
I am hoping for a miracle chance encounter that might change your life. Your comment is heart rendering.
I can relate. Almost 34 and want to help people get unstuck in life but I’m stuck and also that intention doesn’t actually manifest into a stable job with income, which I need
The is the step OUT the door
I need higher pay so I can retire before 399 years old .
I need 4 streams of income
My job hire me for job a and when I start they change to job b
I like you Ken...and you say everyone should have multiple sources of income. But when people work 2 jobs at once just to survive in this crazy world you bash them. You have to do what you can to get buy in this world.
✝️🙏
I hate my job. I really hate it
I love the stripped shirt!
It was Tom and Jerry
Have multiple streams of income...
But ken also said working 2 professional jobs is theft?
Because primary employers own their employees?
The mental gymnastics going on to justify some of Ken's positions are ridiculous.
My employer blocking me illegally and stole 50k from ne
