    I have this Hornet but the 1999 model, and it´s far better than my CBR 1100XX Superblackbird (Which only works for highway and fast speed on straigh lines) But this bike is 100 times better, more fun, agile, "all around" fuel consumption, acceleration from 0-100 it´s the same as my 1100 suerblackbird ( 2,6-2,8 seconds) it eats the curves herself, because you don´t need to fight with her to make her enter in the curves, brakes are really good because it only weights 177kg, and the 180 rear tyre helps you to go fast and make you feel secure. I can say with honor that it´s the best Bike i ever had....

    I had a '99 and absolutely loved it. Sold it last summer after having it since 2005, and moved up to a '99 tl1000s which surprisingly doesnt feel much faster despite 400ccm and 30hp extra. And the hornet's handling is way better.

    • @Big1_
      @Big1_ Před rokem +1

      Because the TL1000 is a big Stone with more KG= Useless. Hornet 600 1999 performs like a 120hp bike, so if you don´t have a 140-150-160hp bike, better to stay with your Hornet because the change will be worse... (and im not counting the weight of these 140-150-160hp bikes)

    • @suprlite
      @suprlite Před rokem

      @@Big1_ Why would i stay with my hornet? 😄 I like the low end torque of my tl. And: the weight difference between the two is not big. TL has more HP pr Kg. The weight difference is only 15kg. So each kg of extra weight has about 1,5hp hp to drag it along. In addition the tl has almost double the torque of the hornet. The hornet has basically no power below 7000rpm, whilst with the tl you can easily pass cars with just reving it up from cruising @3000rpm. But if your idea of a good bike is something you have to crank up to near 10.000rpm to get it to move fast, hey, each man to his own. I'd take an sv650 over the hornet any day as usable torque is way more important for a good ride than max Hp.

    Nice video man. I am hoping to do my full test within the next few months and this bike is top of my list I think. How do you find it in town at low speeds? 90 percent of my bike usage is within London city so 20-30mph zones, so some have told me a 2 cylinder might be more appropriate because they make their power lower in the rev range, but I just can't get over the Hornet, its a bike I've always wanted!
    Also what is your microphone setup? Audio sounded great.

    • @iride1999
      @iride1999  Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah the hornet is very manageable, it has a low centre of gravity making slow manovers pretty easy, I'd say even easier than my 300cc bike which feels a lot more top heavy. But it's true I've done my full test on the mt07 and that's the easiest bike I've ridden by far with the torque that engine has low down its very nice around town. The only gripe I have with the hornet is the gears can be a bit clunky at low revs so best to rev it a bit.
      And I'm using a purple panda mic. Cheers.
