Everyone's talking about the friends and teacher but what about the mother? She worked double time for the money and was always there for her daughter no matter what she did and even stood up to the father for being so horrible. She was also so persistent in making sure her daughter stayed in school and reaches her highest potential. That's a stellar mom right there
Edit : A lot of people are saying that it's a mother's duty and there's no point in me asking to recognise it, because friends in movies don't usually stay by the MC's side, most of the time the popular type. The same towards the teacher, because many teachers get portrayed as a tired, underpaid, toxic person.
I recognise all of them, but I can see people talking about them in the comments already. They're appreciated by a lot of people, but I literally haven't seen anyone talking about the mom. That's why I brought her up. I do see that almost everyone on the MC's side is great and supportive, I'm just talking about the underrated one.

When my mom got better and got to look at my school grades she look for the school to ask why nobody thought of reaching her to talk about the absences and fall on my grades, the principal told her that they didn't had time to deal with problematic children. as a student considered Gifted by their school bored but has only ever Avraged a D or C and is only now working harder for better marks this hits different when you've been a student that can barely figure out simple exponents but work hard only to see that you failed the test, those high marks like 97's mean so much more.

That brought back my HS memory. It was brutal back then in my HS. Only the top students got to advance to the sixth year of my high school (from 6) in Hong Kong. I was always in the middle of the class. Pretty much a lost cause. Even my mom rented a taxis just to prepare to take me to a lower tier school that would have accepted me after the open exam at the end of form 5.
Somehow after months of nonstop studying and after school cram classes. I outperformed and got to advance to Form 6 in my own school.
The irony was, some top students somehow underperformed and failed to advance to Form 6. One of them was very cocky and barely studied for the exam at all!
It proved that even an underdog could have his day. It was a great feeling and a memory I will never forget!

I was tearing up when she got accepted.
I'm sure many people understand, but trying to get into University while still figuring out what the world even is, struggling to be "good enough" while still trying to not fall into a pitfall such as alcohol or hanging out with the wrong crowd, countless nights of studying and then going to school to also compete in athletics, or seeing friends do the same but working a part-time job because the family doesn't make enough, etc.
Even in this recap, it brought back a lot of memories. I'm graduating a bit late this Fall, but I'm graduating University. I'm sure it's easier for some and harder for others, but in the end it was not an easy path. For those trying to get into University, don't give up. Keep trying your best, and I promise you the worst possible outcome is you don't get into a University, but who honestly cares. You learn more about yourself, who you are and what you can do by "properly" trying your best, while also learning quite a bit about what it means to get a degree from a respectable University.
More than likely though, if you really are trying your absolute best, I'm sure you'll get into your 1st choice, and if you don't I'm sure your 2nd or 3rd choices will accept you. There are a LOT of amazing Universities out there, so just because you don't get into the #1 University, doesn't mean that #2 is terrible, and in my experience, the #2 choice ended up being far better than the #1.
Good Luck everybody! - 06/22/2022, by Kevin (putting this here because I find it endearing to think about CZcams still being a thing in a hundred years, and that one person reading this left by me)

The world is way too fixated on using education as a means of signaling superiority. Education should be strictly about learning, growing, and fostering a collaborative attitude. Those are the facets that help one succeed and are the qualities that strengthen communities and make life better for everyone.

If they're not accepted in a job, the educations r pretty much a ticket to jobs or that's what society is now~ they don't even encourage weak childrens or help. For thier work of support is just the Words, not that they don't try the students, Even if they tried if they don't know the things things or can't process it, it like teaching a elementary child about University Maths~ just my thoughts and opinions tho, it's not like all the teachers are bad and so...

Man, it seems so long ago, when something so similar happened to me. 10 years ago I made a bet with students that I would run through the atrium of the high school naked if all of them scored a minimum of 85% on their final exam. I knew at least half of the students were either failing or barely passing each of their previous tests. So I felt this was an easy way to try and motivate them them all to get passing grades, while still feeling VERY confident that most of them still wouldn’t score higher than a 65%.
Well they all started studying like crazy together in study groups that they planned at each other’s houses almost every day after school ( while being unknown to me) and to my complete shock, I felt extremely proud that the lowest score of the final exam was a 87%. But then my pride quickly turned to horror when I remembered the bet I made. But I didn’t want to let all my students down and make them feel like they couldn’t ever trust their own teachers. So I made good on my promise, and I streaked through the school atrium at 8:00am when just about half if not more of the schools students were all hanging around in that part of the school each morning.
Long story short, my students were extremely shocked when I held up my end of the bargain, but we’re happy I didn’t lie to them. And then the next day police were waiting for me in the office because one of the students parents called the police and the school board. I was fired from my position as a high school teacher after 8 years. And was sentenced to 12 months in jail, and I had a restraining order not allowing me to be within 100 meters of any school because I was registered as a sex offender!
Moral of the story. Don’t make any bet that requires you to be naked around anyone under 18!
P.S. This entire story was as a joke. I am not, nor have I ever been a teacher, or a sex offender! Thanks lol
