Yes when I first started with friends as a teenager I hated it because it was awful I hate feeling out of control and I stopped for a while but later realized that was because with those friends we would smoke it till it was gone which is like if every time you drank you chugged a full bottle of liquor like I’m 5’3” 130 lbs lol that sounds like absolute hell, I only started enjoying weed or getting any benefits from it when I experimented & figured out my dosage, which was about 1 small or half inhale if smoking, and that’s it. Equivalent of like a buzz if you were drinking. Puts me in a great mood and I’m happy, I can interact with people even authority and it doesn’t make me nervous because I can still function fully. I have adhd too so one big reason I use it is because adhd can cause a lot of anxiety and worry thoughts that go a mile a minute and I can’t stay on one subject easily, so that weed buzz just stops it all and I’m in a comfortable, good mood and I’m able to focus on one thing at a time. But it’s VERY easy to overshoot it and then you’re MORE distracted or impaired for the next few hours so you gotta be careful. Either way it’s a tool, and regular meditation will help with the same challenges and be more effective
I think weed makes me anxious because there is so much to worry about now compared to when I was 14 smoking weed. Man we used to smoke blunt after blunt and just laugh!
Same here. Back in high school and early 20s we were smoking weed everyday, blunt after blunt and just chill out, nowadays I smoke a bowl and my heart will be racing. I want to believe it's because of all the new sht they be putting in weed.

Don't do that! I tried to rest 6 month! Won't work! After third really small joint in a week period I started feeling 200bpm. Even a first one indicated a trip in wrong direction. And all that lasted 3 hours! Like it was 3 days. I was feeling like when Brian swallowed mushrooms (family guy) look up the video.
I love the trips. I hate it in the moment but if you pay close attention to them, they will teach you something. I usually trip at night when everything is done and I can really tune into my thoughts. Hope this helps anybody else experiencing anxiety when smoking
Weed does not make you anxious. It ENHANCES anxiety. Once I became aware of that, I learned to ignore anxiety. It takes practice but just remember: anxiety serves no purpose except to stop your thought process. (Think “deer in the headlights.”) Relax. Enjoy. Peace
Agreed. Thc effect the reception that this Dr is speaking of. Those receptors are all over the body. The ones in the brain are with the Memory part of the brains. So what happens is the Thc makes it feel like memories or reminders are more Sudden.

People always tell me it’s in my head and maybe it is but I can’t seem to fix it. I have theories as to why this is happening but no certain answer. Got anxiety twice from weed and I can say I know how you feel it’s definitely in the head but it’s something you feel can’t be controlled if you do it feels worse. I could not be thinking just standing there same thing smh 5 months clean now and not going back

So many people smoke/consume pot yet experiences like this happen and doctors are dumbfounded. we are extremely divided and mentally stunted and it bothers me so much. I’ve done a tone of research but it’s not certain what the truth is because I didn’t make the pot brownies nor grow the pot but i do feel like I’m on to something

It used to be i could take a couple hits and wait 30 minutes and if I felt good I could take a few more hits and be fine but the anxiety has become so prevalent I don't even want to smoke it anymore. Reading all the comments its good to know I'm not alone in my anxiety battle

Actually it cured my anxiety after having panic attacks and anxiety for 3 months, it helped me learn that it's all your thoughts... you just got to know how to control the way you think and what you think about. So just chill and do not have negative thoughts, you'll overcome it.
Very accurate comment because you gotta think about how you felt before you smoked and if everything was fine then it’s all just in your head because of smoking, but then some strains are just too strong for people
I think it increases anxiety if you live in environments that already cause you some level of anxiety. Then when you come off it your body exacerbates those feelings. That's probs my biggest problem with weed . You really have to be mindful to just take a break for a few days every so often otherwise it all becomes too much.
I also disagree with this point of view took a 3 day tolerance break smoked weed again and had a panic attack and have been battling constant anxiety and panic disorder ever since its been 4 years my home life was always great and the environment I was in at the time was great
@@ASMaster your mindset is also a very important part of your environment. If you are getting high and you feel distressed, your high will make that feeling really strong. If you practice mindfulness and ways to empty your mind of stress, then weed will make those calm feelings even more calming. Feel free to disagree though as I don't know your situation.

It’s also a mental thing, you can be diagnosed with bad anxiety and still pass out from the sesh before your thinking about how stonked you are 😂 but yea it’s def not for everyone. If panic attacks are a thing in ur life sparking up is risky.
Quit smoking in 09 due to this exact reason. Anxiety through the roof and now these strains have gotten exceedingly strong. Seems like all the weed knocks you out lol.
I've tried mary a total of 5 times my entire life. Usually just one baby puff and once just half a 10mg gummy. Every time... without fail it triggers the worst crippling anxiety. I get so jealous watching all my friends and family have this beautiful relaxing "cloud like" experience 🤧 but its fine because wine 🍷 does that for me instead.
I used to smoke alot in my mid to late teens but now at 26 a 6'1 250LB man even a little bit of weed makes me anxious. And I'm talking like one hit. To the point where isn't not even enjoyable anymore. I feel in my everyday life I have very mild to no anxiety at all so it's just so strange that I'm so sensitive to it all the sudden especially with my size. I should state that I don't smoke or use cannabis at all really. Maybe once or twice a year with friends. So obviously tolerance has to play a part. I just wish I could enjoy it now because I always remember it to be a really nice way to wind down at the end of a long day.
There's been times when I smoke and I'm super talkative and social, and funny, and other times I get awful anxiety especially around a chick that I like🤦
I speak for my self on this but where the anxiety comes from, is that you start having conversations with yourself that reveals things you focus on that you had not done before. If you are not ready for that you can interpret that as anxiety. I just let it ride and understand that its just all in mind. And just let go of that worry. Your mjnd wil tell you things. Some beautiful. Some dangerous. So be aware.
I grow my own! I know I grow well. I take steps and use techniques away from the CZcams videos. I never go too far where a mistake will take place. I ensure mine is dust free. The idea is, I love what I grow. I never get headaches nor anxiety attacks. I feel creative and my mind is busy thinking or working on something. Often times, I get stuff done
It gives me major anxiety, not to mention increasing my heart rate and blood pressure. Now that I’m 30 , Im steering clear of anything that can harm my well-being. I’ve been clean from D8 for 17 days now. Definitely noticing improvement.
I took a mushroom trip and now weed makes my heart race super fast. Im not mentally anxious but i have that physical anxiety that only goes away when im really focussed on my breath, the minute I think about something else weather good or bad it goes back to beating seeminly faster.
Aside from anxiety itself, two of the biggest causes that can trigger it when puffing are high sugar or caffeine intake in the hours before puffing. That’s what I discovered for me.
Too much THC will obviously scare people just like too much Alcohol will black out people. He’s right though, dosage and tolerance is everything. Know your limit.
I smoke the tiniest bit of pot in the evening (one hit in & out), & the anxiety aspect is always an issue. It absolutely releases cortisol, plus pot is WAY too strong these days. I smoke it because it quiets my ego, & makes YouYube way more interesting. If I have some sort of worry, it gets magnified 10x. I have learned to tell myself that I’m not thinking straight, so reevaluate it later (ALWAYS turns out to be a non-issue).
In my opinion, I believe it's the marijuana bringing up unresolved trauma from the user's past. Or, it could be that the user is emotionally numb when not high, blocking out emotions for whatever reason. Being high forces the user to "take their guard down", and suddenly all of those emotions are coming through with an overwhelming intensity.
Agreed so much. I have anxiety and I’m using a broad-spectrum jelly and it is amazing but when I tried the full spectrum with THC, it was no good for me. My sister who has depression needs that little bit of THC though. Thanks for this.❤
The comfort induced by marajuana can invite the persual of perfect comfort and perfection of environment, the displacement of the substance can cause anxiety in this way. Abstaining from marajuana can result in lack of sleep and lots of sweating. The addiction effects from long time use wear off in a few days of disciplined abstaining.

He's right it happend to me Ive been smokin forever now and I've had high THC strains that gave me panic attacks. You need to take t breaks. To much of anything is bad for you. Also high THC strains is overated they just want you to buy the "best" and priciest buds. I like smokin 18 17 percent or less lol no lie and since I been taking breaks I don't get it as much as soon as I feel it in my head that I'm smokin to much and I know because I have been I take a break for a week hopefully soon I'll do 2 weeks and so on so fourth to where 10 percent or less will get me ripped with the benefits and not panic attacks
In my case is exactly the opposite, it relaxes me, I’m a natural very anxious person, always has been, and weed completely calms me, and it allow me to think more clearly. I guess everyone is also different, and the dosage part I agree, and it also vary depending on the person and how often you use it. Thanks doctor for giving on your thoughts!
I think it also has to with the person, and type of canibus they’re consuming. I have to consume a mellow grade type of canibus. Canibus that’s extremely potent will have my anxiety through the roof.
I always had a thought. Everything that weed “causes” like depression anxiety and what not. Those things are placed on anything these days. Everything causes depression apparently. Any TV ad you see about medicine they always say it may cause anxiety. So my thought was, if everyone is effected my weed different. The only way you would be able to do a proper test to see how it effects someone is if you had a Time Machine. You can’t put one person in weed and a different not as a control. Unless they are the exact same person, the control will never be the actual control subject.

I have tried edible at least twice. The first time was about a little over 100 mg lol yeah I know bad move. It was not a good high! The second go was like 15 mg or a little bit more and I fell high and not as bad as the first one. However my anxiety has increased and I'm worried that it might not subside. It's been about 24 hours since my last usage and I'm a little worried that might anxiety won't decrease.
I dont like when people say "thats impossible" we live in a world where there are endless possibilities so to dispprove someones experience because of your own is simply, ignorant. Ive smoked since i was 18. Im 27 now. Trying to stop. What they say about it, is true for me. Look, is everyone going to go through this, I dont think so. You need to take just enough to ease pain and no more than that. I also get panic attacks from too much, 12.5mg THC will trigger panic attacks, whereas 6.25mg is much more tolerable. Weed won't cause OD, but it sure feels awful. If you can't handle it then stop using it - it's that simple.

Please help me, I’ve been smoking since I was 13, I’m 18 and about a year ago I started getting a bit insecure when getting really stoned, nowadays I get the same thing, I get like weirdly insecure and now my arms and neck start twitching, it’s barley noticeable but I notice it. Weed has become very unenjoyable, but the problem is, I can’t go to sleep without it. To fill the void I’ve become an alcoholic, I drink a bottle of fireball a day and I hate it because I have to wake up hung over and sick, that’s why I want to go back to smoking more weed but without the insecurity and twitching parts, I used to walk around stoned all the time but now I feel so awkward around people that I started wearing sunglasses ALOT, and I don’t like wearing sunglasses. I still smoke and drink but I want to just smoke weed. I’ve found two sollutions to my problem, One, be alone, my friends are obviously enablers because it makes me hella awkward when I smoke so I end up saying “I’m tired” and basically fake going to “sleep”. Second, smoke weed and drink, that’s what I’ve been doing, it doesn’t give me anxiety but it cost a lot of money and it doesn’t take away the twitches only makes it less. I feel like after smoking weed its messed with my brain pretty bad, I’m completely aware when I’m on auto pilot and when I’m manual, whenever I’m into something like a movie, or a girl the twitches don’t happen. 3rd solution would be stop smoking weed but unfortunately I can’t because of peer pressure, it’s just not an option.

When your not used to it sure, after smoking for so long and it can help ALOT with anxiety. My rheumatoid arthritis too is really really good and my rheumatolgist wont put me back on meds, they did nothing for me.

I started smoking at 16 too. I smoked once a month on average for 2,5 years. Now im almost 19 and my anxiety is really bad, like im Shaking and feel paranoid almost every day. Last time I smoked one month ago and recently I've noticed that weed is causing my anxiety in a long term, not only when I smoke. I've been also addicted to vapes and I drink acohol sometimes since im 16 too so idk if it is only from weed but my plan for now is to quit weed and vapes.
Weed causes me severe anxiety unless I take it in micro doses, like very very small amounts (Wether it's edibles or smoking) I think I even have the same issue with Delta 8 to a lesser degree, but I'm unsure if it's just placebo or it actually causes me anxiety. Anyone else that gets anxious with weed have the same issue with D8?
I am 99% sure that it is placebo, but it very difficult to convince the mind that it is the same you that are creating the anxiety from the first place.

I used to smoke pot a lot and then it slowly just started giving me panic attacks after a pot brownie I ate. Now every time I get high it gives me anxiety and I just can’t enjoy it. People always tell me it’s in my head and maybe it is but I can’t seem to fix it. I have theories as to why this is happening but no certain answer. Kinda miss getting blazed but I’ll be fine without it and you will too 🙂
Got anxiety twice from weed and I can say I know how you feel it’s definitely in the head but it’s something you feel can’t be controlled if you do it feels worse. I could not be thinking just standing there same thing smh 5 months clean now and not going back

So many people smoke/consume pot yet experiences like this happen and doctors are dumbfounded. we are extremely divided and mentally stunted and it bothers me so much. I’ve done a tone of research but it’s not certain what the truth is because I didn’t make the pot brownies nor grow the pot but i do feel like I’m on to something

It used to be i could take a couple hits and wait 30 minutes and if I felt good I could take a few more hits and be fine but the anxiety has become so prevalent I don't even want to smoke it anymore. Reading all the comments its good to know I'm not alone in my anxiety battle

Actually it cured my anxiety after having panic attacks and anxiety for 3 months, it helped me learn that it's all your thoughts... you just got to know how to control the way you think and what you think about. So just chill and do not have negative thoughts, you'll overcome it.

I think it increases anxiety if you live in environments that already cause you some level of anxiety. Then when you come off it your body exacerbates those feelings. That's probs my biggest problem with weed . You really have to be mindful to just take a break for a few days every so often otherwise it all becomes too much.
I also disagree with this point of view took a 3 day tolerance break smoked weed again and had a panic attack and have been battling constant anxiety and panic disorder ever since its been 4 years my home life was always great and the environment I was in at the time was great
@@ASMaster your mindset is also a very important part of your environment. If you are getting high and you feel distressed, your high will make that feeling really strong. If you practice mindfulness and ways to empty your mind of stress, then weed will make those calm feelings even more calming.

It’s also a mental thing, you can be diagnosed with bad anxiety and still pass out from the sesh before your thinking about how stonked you are 😂 but yea it’s def not for everyone. If panic attacks are a thing in ur life sparking up is risky.

I've tried mary a total of 5 times my entire life. Usually just one baby puff and once just half a 10mg gummy. Every time... without fail it triggers the worst crippling anxiety.
I get so jealous watching all my friends and family have this beautiful relaxing "cloud like" experience 🤧 but its fine because wine 🍷 does that for me instead.
I used to smoke alot in my mid to late teens but now at 26 a 6'1 250LB man even a little bit of weed makes me anxious. And I'm talking like one hit. To the point where isn't not even enjoyable anymore. I feel in my everyday life I have very mild to no anxiety at all so it's just so strange that I'm so sensitive to it all the sudden especially with my size. I should state that I don't smoke or use cannabis at all really. Maybe once or twice a year with friends. So obviously tolerance has to play a part. I just wish I could enjoy it now because I always remember it to be a really nice way to wind down at the end of a long day.

I speak for my self on this but where the anxiety comes from, is that you start having conversations with yourself that reveals things you focus on that you had not done before. If you are not ready for that you can interpret that as anxiety. I just let it ride and understand that its just all in mind. And just let go of that worry. Your mjnd wil tell you things. Some beautiful. Some dangerous. So be aware.

I took a mushroom trip and now weed makes my heart race super fast. Im not mentally anxious but i have that physical anxiety that only goes away when im really focussed on my breath, the minute I think about something else weather good or bad it goes back to beating seeminly faster.

Aside from anxiety itself, two of the biggest causes that can trigger it when puffing are high sugar or caffeine intake in the hours before puffing. That’s what I discovered for me.

Too much THC will obviously scare people just like too much Alcohol will black out people. He’s right though, dosage and tolerance is everything. Know your limit.

I smoke the tiniest bit of pot in the evening (one hit in & out), & the anxiety aspect is always an issue. It absolutely releases cortisol, plus pot is WAY too strong these days. I smoke it because it quiets my ego, & makes YouYube way more interesting. If I have some sort of worry, it gets magnified 10x. I have learned to tell myself that I’m not thinking straight, so reevaluate it later (ALWAYS turns out to be a non-issue).
In my opinion, I believe it's the marijuana bringing up unresolved trauma from the user's past.
Or, it could be that the user is emotionally numb when not high, blocking out emotions for whatever reason. Being high forces the user to "take their guard down", and suddenly all of those emotions are coming through with an overwhelming intensity.
Agreed so much. I have anxiety and I’m using a broad-spectrum jelly and it is amazing but when I tried the full spectrum with THC, it was no good for me. My sister who has depression needs that little bit of THC though. Thanks for this.❤

He's right it happend to me Ive been smokin forever now and I've had high THC strains that gave me panic attacks. You need to take t breaks. To much of anything is bad for you. Also high THC strains is overated they just want you to buy the "best" and priciest buds. I like smokin 18 17 percent or less lol no lie and since I been taking breaks I don't get it as much as soon as I feel it in my head that I'm smokin to much and I know because I have been I take a break for a week hopefully soon I'll do 2 weeks and so on so fourth to where 10 percent or less will get me ripped with the benefits and not panic attacks
In my case is exactly the opposite, it relaxes me, I’m a natural very anxious person, always has been, and weed completely calms me, and it allow me to think more clearly. I think it also has to with the person, and type of canibus they’re consuming. I have to consume a mellow grade type of canibus. Canibus that’s extremely potent will have my anxiety through the roof.

I always had a thought. Everything that weed “causes” like depression anxiety and what not. Those things are placed on anything these days. Everything causes depression apparently. Any TV ad you see about medicine they always say it may cause anxiety. So my thought was, if everyone is effected my weed different. The only way you would be able to do a proper test to see how it effects someone is if you had a Time Machine. You can’t put one person in weed and a different not as a control. Unless they are the exact same person, the control will never be the actual control subject.
Because who’s to say if they never smoked that they wouldn’t experience these problems .

It used to give me anxiety but I found out that only certain strains help! Learning more about the terpenes and which ones help anxiety and depression, I have been smoking without anxiety 😌 just learn more about what you smoke. If not, sober is sexy!

I have tried edible at least twice. The first time was about a little over 100 mg lol yeah I know bad move. It was not a good high! The second go was like 15 mg or a little bit more and I fell high and not as bad as the first one. However my anxiety has increased and I'm worried that it might not subside. It's been about 24 hours since my last usage and I'm a little worried that might anxiety won't decrease.
Any antidepressants gives anxiety in beginning it's only calms in later stage

Ive smoked since i was 18. Im 27 now. Trying to stop. What they say about it, is true for me. Look, is everyone going to go through this, I dont think so. You need to take just enough to ease pain and no more than that. I also get panic attacks from too much, 12.5mg THC will trigger panic attacks, whereas 6.25mg is much more tolerable. Weed won't cause OD, but it sure feels awful. If you can't handle it then stop using it - it's that simple.

Please help me, I’ve been smoking since I was 13, I’m 18 and about a year ago I started getting a bit insecure when getting really stoned, nowadays I get the same thing, I get like weirdly insecure and now my arms and neck start twitching, it’s barley noticeable but I notice it. Weed has become very unenjoyable, but the problem is, I can’t go to sleep without it. To fill the void I’ve become an alcoholic, I drink a bottle of fireball a day and I hate it because I have to wake up hung over and sick, that’s why I want to go back to smoking more weed but without the insecurity and twitching parts, I used to walk around stoned all the time but now I feel so awkward around people that I started wearing sunglasses ALOT, and I don’t like wearing sunglasses.
I still smoke and drink but I want to just smoke weed. I’ve found two sollutions to my problem, One, be alone, my friends are obviously enablers because it makes me hella awkward when I smoke so I end up saying “I’m tired” and basically fake going to “sleep”. Second, smoke weed and drink, that’s what I’ve been doing, it doesn’t give me anxiety but it cost a lot of money and it doesn’t take away the twitches only makes it less.
I feel like after smoking weed its messed with my brain pretty bad, I’m completely aware when I’m on auto pilot and when I’m manual, whenever I’m into something like a movie, or a girl the twitches don’t happen.
3rd solution would be stop smoking weed but unfortunately I can’t because of peer pressure, it’s just not an option.

When your not used to it sure, after smoking for so long and it can help ALOT with anxiety. My rheumatoid arthritis too is really really good and my rheumatolgist wont put me back on meds, they did nothing for me.

I started smoking weed when I was 16 and I continued till I was 17. It was really good in the beginning but by the time I quit which I was 17 I was suffering from an anxiety disorder, and even though I have quit smoking weed till today that I’m 37 I’m still struggling with these feelings of anxiety. I started smoking at 16 too. I smoked once a month on average for 2,5 years. Now im almost 19 and my anxiety is really bad, like im Shaking and feel paranoid almost every day. Last time I smoked one month ago and recently I've noticed that weed is causing my anxiety in a long term, not only when I smoke. I've been also addicted to vapes and I drink acohol sometimes since im 16 too so idk if it is only from weed but my plan for now is to quit weed and vapes.

Weed causes me severe anxiety unless I take it in micro doses, like very very small amounts (Wether it's edibles or smoking)
I think I even have the same issue with Delta 8 to a lesser degree, but I'm unsure if it's just placebo or it actually causes me anxiety. Anyone else that gets anxious with weed have the same issue with D8?
I am 99% sure that it is placebo, but it very difficult to convince the mind that it is the same you that are creating the anxiety from the first place.
