I was in LV a week later and took the time to visit the makeshift memorial at the Las Vegas sign. Very moving. Oct.11 I was at the "D" downtown watching the Indians-Yankees game and a guy sat down next to me and we started talking. He said he was just so relieved to get an evening off of work to relax, his work had been very busy lately. He said he worked at the Las Vegas morgue. Suddenly I was more interested in talking to this stranger than watching the ballgame. One of the things he told me was that a lot more of the people died from being trampled to death than from being shot.

The strangest part of this is how he was actually able to pull this off without being caught. What does this hotel have a completely new staff every single day???
None of people at the front desk noticed this guy constantly leaving the hotel empty handed, then coming back to the hotel with multiple bags when the very first day he already brought more bags than ONE person would need? Do they not have ANYONE monitoring cameras? Room service didn’t think it was weird that dude had over a dozen bags in his room before he started completely denying their service? Valet workers are usually stood at the entrance and you mean to tell me NONE of them noticed that the same exact guy was constantly leaving the hotel empty handed then coming bag with multiple suitcases over the course of a week?
No one can tell me they didn’t recognize the man, the human brain doesn’t forget a face, especially that quick. And no one can tell me they didn’t notice him seeing that he has gotten service from them multiple times, had conversations, and tipped them. Idk this is weird to me.
What do the people that work at the hotel have the attention span and analyzation skills of a 3 year old? How did hotel security not notice any of this, it’s literally their job.

Same day OJ was paroled so online people were saying that OJ was shooting up the arena and 3 hotels had gunmen - Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur. So much confusion and chaos. Why he did this we'll probably never know. I will say Mandalay was quick to get the signs for multiple floors down, remove it from the elevator options and if you go in there to shop or play at the Casino, you're treated differently from guests, even though you're still supporting Mandalay with your business. What disturbs and disgust me is that since this incident or the incidents before this mass shooting, absolutely nothing has been done to change gun laws, we've barely increased the age limit to purchase a gun and we also need to make sure that we frequently look at background checks on people who want to purchase guns . We also need to make sure people with bad mental health get treated for it quickly before it worsens and we definitely need to recognize the red flags more often of someone planning an attack.

Let me tell you something people right now. When somebody goes through that much trouble, he wants the world to know why he did what he did. They are just not telling us because if there's any veracity for the reason he did what he did they buried that fact with him. It's so many bad things going on in the world right now that we can't even focus on one before 12 more things pop up. This is a nightmare for all of us.

maybe it was his ultimate move to not write some delusional manifesto and just enjoy leaving people hanging and longing for an explanation, because that is ghe ultimate power move. its like getting ghosted and u have no way to find out. or he just didnt care and just wanted to know how it feels.

So many people come and go, im sure they had no idea he had so many bags in one room. Rewatching the footage, they probably felt so stupid.

He obviously did it in a pretty smart way. The Mandalay is a big hotel with a lot of staff and a lot of guests. Its likely he just came in on another day with more suitcases when other staff was on duty and 5 suitcases at a time isnt odd for a big hotel like that. No ones gonna tell other staff someone came in with 5 suitcases today watch out and see if he brings anymore. Knowing what we know it is easy to tell what hes doing and how he did it but no ones gonna realize anything unordinary is even happening cause no one remembers a person for bringing suitcases into a hotel, its nothing unordinary.

Plus I worked in a really big hotel here in London, there aren’t cameras in many places (like the corridors where rooms are). The CCTV footage is always visible at the reception but we hardly looked at it. We weren’t supposed to be on any guests case unless we thought they were pedophiles.

It's been 5 years now and hardly anyone talks about this at all, no progress has been made to prevent this from happening again and again and again. There has been no progress on mental health availability. And of course allegedly no motives were determined in this particular case.

In the various resort video feeds, he appears like any other tourist visiting Vegas. Playing the slots, purchasing food, shaking hands & carrying on conversations with others. No hint or clue this guy is plotting mass murder. That is terrifying.
