I wish I'd been allowed to see the finished boat under sail instead of those cards.
It's so absurd that we spend all this time watching the creation of this beautiful boat but then they block the view of the finished product. Unbelievable!
I was able to see the entire video, it seems that you guys need adblock plus, it gives you the ability to remove all those popup mini screens that cover the end of most videos. I've had it for so long I forgot all about those blockers.
Check this czcams.com/video/bUaoe56HPLo/video.html
Yes It is absurd not allowing to see the complete ship sailing
Ha. Was about to make the same comment.
This is great stuff to watch but the only thing that spoils it is at the end where the yacht is in the water and sailing you have the cards over the top and we cannot see a thing...
I'm happy working, I'm a person working on CZcams, I'm not working🤣🤣
I use to keep a boat at a marina where the owner built wooden planked pwr.boats and motor sailers. Loved watching him at his craft. Truly an art.
It was a delight to see so many craftsmen doing their thing. Cheers all.
There will always be a demand for hand built quality boats such as this, and it's easy to see why. Beautiful.
If they are not hand built how do you think they are built.
On a small model scale or larger scale like this , seeing the skeletons of any of this build is like a work of art ! Love it ! ❤️
Awesome video! I am a home owner who remodeled my entire home over many years. I did tree harvesting, milled logs by hand, so I can relate but as a newbie sailboat owner I cannot imagine having the skills to “ remodel” let alone work as a carpenter to build a sailboat on this level! Epic!
This what we call "Woodcore" - very strong and light. Very durable when built correctly. And, very costly.
Great work and great video. I prefer wooden boats not just because I am Dutch American Ist gen . I can only afford a Kayak and have felt most alive on the North Sea when I went to visit family. Wooden vessels are alive with sound .flexing and creaking more so with age like a wind blown instrument.. The old ones moan about rough Seas like old Sailors. 😁 keep up the great work
That fish song slaps, came for the boats, and then a second time when fish in the sea dropped.🎉
Absolutely magnificent! I wish I had the aptitude for working with wood. I LOVE objects made of wood: furnitures, boats, private homes, vintage interurban railroad cars, you name it. I envy the guys in this video building that boat for their craftsmanship. AWESOME!!! 😊
Get started and build something, even if it's from a kit.
I have built 2 powerboats, 3 canoes and 2 kayaks it's extremely therapeutic!!!
And if you screw up you get a nice campfire that evening!!!
@@Chris-fo8wp 😂
I used to build custom high end motorhomes. Now I'm a marine tooler designing custom performance cats. Also high end. I must have been a boat builder in my past life! I would love to build boats like these where I can utilize all of my natural skills that my dad always told me would be useless.
"my natural skills that my dad always told me would be useless", Natural skills are a valuable commodity that few seem to have, I hope you use them more
Yeah..! It's funny how people are willing to pay bundles and piles of cash for "useless skills" LOL!
What was your fathers name I might know him
There is something satisfying about building something. Very talented at his craft. Nice job. 👍
I think this is FAIRLIE YACHTS in Southampton UK. I wish that the people who give us such wonderful videos would document them. Too many don't. And this is one of them.
I love watching true craftsmen at work!
A "gondola for giants"!!!! Very impressive job and result. Thank you for presenting this video.
OMG! I have no words to express the beauty of this vessel! WOW! FANTASTIC EVERYTHING!
Absolutely fantastic job guys very well done 👏👏👏👏
I cried when they glassed & bondoed & primered & painted over that beautiful mahogany.
#RipMahogany
That is a beautiful boat! Excellent craftmanship.
Sailboat? No. A Master Peace? Definitely.
My uncle was a fisherman but after an accident he went into boat building. Marblehead ma. I grew up on boats and at a very young age ( out of us 6 kids being the youngest for 8 years) my u uncle had 3 girls. But i really and admire this schooner? I think ? Lol age is catching up. This boat is beautiful!!!
I love how all of you take pride!!!
The skill that goes into boat building, is so amazing. Hats off to you all. 👍👍👍
Fish in the sea
Beautiful yachts made on the River Hamble, although not quite so beautiful price tags. About four million for their larger 70' s, I used to work at the yard next door.
yes available for the select few with the wallet accordingly - but in todays world quite a brave effort to go retro and get it right. then again if you cost in the hours to build - say 6.5k to 7.5k its understandable when you do a time and materials on the build. Works of art really
Interesting. Bespoke timber from the Philippines, Indonesia, or the like, very modern and efficient. Optimised design and construction, a way to stay in business. Ex boatbuilder of the old school, who had none of that, so I appreciate every bit, and I recognize every procedure, even the sooped up ones.
Except -- I've never seen skilled carpenters banging on a chisel with a hammer. 'Splain me Lucy.
there is a simple explanation , on this entire ship , less than one percent tops the wood is worked with chisels . so the sculpturist perhaps uses the old mass driver but in todays boatbuilding ........
My dad and I rebuilt a sunken ( 6 feet) 29 foot 1962 Owens. We did the fiberglass layup that covered the lap straight hull. 2 years of weekends and spare time and we put to sea out of Alameda boat yard.. I learned a BUNCH on wood working.
Nice !! as a composite repair guy I love to see someone take the time to vacuum bag epoxy !
Really enjoyed the the boat making process, Fantastic 👌👍
Skill yang sangat luar biasa teman,, pembuatan kapal yang profesional semangat sodaraku❤❤❤salam dari Indonesia🇮🇩🙏🙏
Fascinating to watch these skilled craftsmen build such a beautiful craft. It’s a damn shame we didn’t get to see her under sail, though!
I've seen houses built very quickly too, with time lapse camera's. 😃
Thanks for sharing.
From Philippines
good friend we are working people 😂😂🔪
Fabulous shaped hull & deck . Very pleasing 2 the Eye 👏👌🕊👀👀👀
Beautiful ❤️
Such great workmanship.
Beautiful work.
That's a boat build video from plans to splash down! Great work men...
Belezas das águas.

Aaannnddd... for those that wonder 😏 This is why these boats are so expensive. Craftsmanship isn't cheap.
Rolling the hull over...always a mystery to me! Well done!
magnifique trés beau travail
Keep safe iMachines TV. Good job & god bless.
Beautiful craftsmanship and I'd want to keep it dry and polished to perfection hidden away in a nice big barn.to admire the beautiful woodwork.
This is a Fairlie 55. There is a complete diary of this build, just look it up.
Great video! Soundtrack not so much 😂
Looks like a Paul Spooner design, beautiful traditional style boats. Cost a pretty penny as well.
Interesting video on a well made boat. Really need to rethink the background music.
I really like your twin bandmills. I have a tristate t36 resaw and a 5 head molding machine in my house garage lol. only problem i have is all the sawdust and shavings.
is the wood chemically treated?? if not, it can be used for mulch or cage liners. FFA kids would love it
Wow! Wonder what that costs? Craftsmanship like that is amazing.
I'd love to see some data such us how many work hours, how many people, what's the cost of the material and how many million $ for the finished vessel 😅
God bless all amazing work skill
Awesome work!
Awesome! 🤩 more detail about where/when/who this is would be good. 🙏
Beautiful lines!
spoiling last part to see this beauty
wow amazing craftsmanship. I dread to think how much one of these would cost 😱
Similar to building techniques used by ELCO 80 years ago to build PT boats. Good vid on it is Giant Killers. To see an 80ft boat built of wood is amazing.
So…….you block the view of the finished product? Really?
AWESOME PERFECT WORK.....😁👌👍
Amazing work!
Uauuu..really impressed!
how I would love to have those first rips!
With the right tools it's a pleasure to work..
Very few can afford such a beautiful boat.
Quickly ? Nothing quick about this very fine work very fine job
Wonderful vid of an amazing team process. The music could easily have been done without.
Magic !
Wood boats are beautiful so is the craft of making them.
How much sail would that have under full sail. Reminds me of the clippers.
Красота!
Smooth as silk. Fast as fish.❤
Ohhhh I want one of them now
Nicely done
👏👏👏 show!
Unbelievable workmanship, fully understand how expensive they are, with the amount of man hours.
stunning
What a great video
I'm gonna ask for one of these boats for my birthday present... :-). 😊❤

I’m a Canadian skilled trade. Love the jointing double bandsaw.
Can I come work for you ?
This video is making me want a boat.
Incredible skills and beautiful design. Who sings that song you use in the background? Many thanks
Brilliant
Fantastic,..what money can do !!!
True masters…
I used to build yachts out of wood, too. Some of it was sold to Yugoslavia. One boat went on its own to Turkey
Having built many boats as a young boy with my father who was a carpenter and having watched many boat building videos
This is the first one that is building it like we built them as in ribs stern keel ect
How long did all this take?
Wonderful. No need for the music.
Covered up the finished product! 😅😅🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Nice
Agreed
Super
Well you can see why the saying is that a boat is a hole in the ocean you can't fill with money, but very beautiful.
The music is awesome asf!
Wunderbar
What type of wood do you use for frames and all hull layers ?
Why this final veneer do you cover with epoxy, there is any solution which allow leave wood texture visible ?
Think of the overhead ..... $3 or $4 mill for the equipment, a couple of $mill for the shed and property; $10K per week for wages; who knows what for consumables, electricity, computers, and everything else. A great job by the business owner and staff, and great outcome. Not much comes cheap these days.
The property and equipment are probably leased. Richard Hammond might just buy everything at the start for Little Cog, but most people start small and slowly grow over the years.
What boat name or brand name is this i love the boat
Uaaau Kompliment :-) Georg Europe, Prague
I enjoyed this video. As a side note, these videos don't need the musak background track. If you simply have to have music, a classical track might be less intrusive, but just to recap, you don't need any music for boat enthusiasts, we have attention spans tgat can deal with 10 minutes of silence.
No more fish😔
