One of the reasons why we are all mad over heels about Cate Blanchett's Hela is because she is written as a simple true villain brimming with power and confidence. Cate Blanchett took that very simple and very well written character and went ham on the confidence bit (and we love her for it). Hela's character is evil doesn't have a spec of goodness in her and she is damn proud of it. She's unflappable, cool as a cucumber 100% of her screen time , unrelenting in everything she does and she loves it. She's MCU's Maleficent (back when Disney knew how to write villains without making them goofballs or giving them backstories that make them come off as a troubled but sympathetic antagonist to the hero rather than a villain with a grand design). There is none of that Thanos feeling pity for killing Gamora, or Loki swinging between antagonist antihero opponent at the drop of an MCU writer's pen, or the puppies tossing Cruella into a vat of goo, or an enraged Captain Hook jumping up and down after Peter Pan pulled fast one on him. Maleficent for pete's sake put a death curse on a baby with a smile on her face, while Hela made Asgard's Armies into Asgard's Corpses in just under 1 minute of screen time and after she is done she says "I missed this". That's why both Maleficent and Hela's characters work so well (and stand out) in what would be otherwise be forgettable movies (nobody gives tuppence about Sleeping Beauty she's not the protagonist of her movie and Thor has overstayed his welcome), they are written with 1 motivation, no depth, very little in terms of back story (in fact Maleficent has 0 back story in her movie), they are written as larger than life villains, they command they overshadow everyone and everything whenever they're on screen and they are having fun being evil. This is why Hela is such a treat in an MCU ocean of cookie cutter villains, she is not tormented by philosophical quandaries or ponders on the implications of her actions, she is larger than life, she's 100% evil she wants to wreck shop and she loves it.
@@lucaspoon4202 LMAO, a full Infinity Gauntlet is an "even match" for Hela? She would crumble to dust just from Thanos looking at her Hela on Asgard vs Base Thanos: Hela 10/10 Hela vs Base Thanos on neutral ground: Hela 6 or 7/10 Hela vs Thanos with any Stone, on Asgard or not: Thanos 10/10

Can feel her pain in the voice when she saw her pet carcass (probably mummified).. shows she have capacity for love.. growing up killing and believing her father's aspiration of conquest, I guess that programs her in a way.. if odin can change I guess this lady could too.. but oh well guess she's dead now huh?
A little fun fact. Her "pet" was Fenrir, father of skol and hati who were the bringers of day and night. Fenrir was also loki's son in norse mythology. So lets say, Marvel followed the true timeline (which they didnt), Fenrir would be Hela's nephew. Matter of fact hela is based of of Hel the ruler of the dead in norse mythology, who is Loki's daughter, which technically makes fenrir her brother (older brother to be more precise)😂
Blanchett's delivery of "FAAAAKE!" is absolutely hysterical. The intonation and the fact that she says it so quickly after Skurge says his piece makes her sound like a YT comment.
When she says the Infinity Stone Gauntlet is fake and knocks it of the pedestal, it has to be fake because all the stones are in place, and the Tesseract on another pedestal is still intact.
She's has a lovely voice for all the things they never knew about a lady not every day she has that eye twitch thing again she's the Goddess of death I love hearing her voice and watching her that's why I got the telescope.. lol nice thing to get to keep an eye on . We will se in Season 2 of "What If...?" Series.

What if she survived?

Hella fine looking lady indeed! (Think Teal'c will forgive me for using his line.)

She says the tesseract is not that bad when its more powerful than the eternal flame.
Not really (in her context)
I think she just knows how to handle the Eternal Flame in a way that it's more powerful than the infinity stones. She's like a hundred thousands years old so she must know a lot of things.
Well that eternal flame was the thing that was what made her invincible and the only way she would be defeated was with prophecy
@@ricky9465 It was just an expression.
Hela has no actual use for the Tessaract, but the Eternal Flame? Now that is something she can put to use.
She might not even have known there is an Infinity Stone trapped inside, or maybe she had no way of extracting it. Thanos needed the Power Stone to break the Tesseract - I think.
Instead of a dark lord, Hela was a queen.
Beautiful and terrible as the dawn!
Every director, writer, anyone who creates characters should take notes because this is how you create a powerful woman character
@@thecrashingtoasterreally moron, how else would you write Hela properly?

The only Joker he closely resembled is Martha Wayne’s Joker. And that’s only because they based her Joker on him. As they was trying to get fans of the movie into the comics.
She has the best voice for these kinda movies perfect villain
Cate can do a suitably deep voice for a villain. Josh Brolin couldn't be bettered for his Thanos performance. His father the actor James Brolin, didn't go that deep !

The infinity stones’ effects were exponential. One was ‘not bad’, but the more you had in one place the more powerful they became.

It’s possible that the Infinity Gauntlet is Odin’s design originally. Odin did already have a lot of knowledge of the Infinity Stones.
@@gamesgeargadgets722 I think Endgame established that there didn't just have to be just one Infinity Guantlet, since Stark was able to make a functional one with his Iron Man tech. So it's possible Odin could have also had one that would also work if he had united all six stones on in.

I always wondered the same thing. How ironic that they didn't want to keep 2 Infinity Stones in the same place, but they keep 2 objects that put together would destroy the planet XD

I saw comments that Thor could beat ah Surtur and not Hela and that Surtur could beat ah Hela and not ah Thor and that Hela could beat ah Thor and not ah Surtur !!! I think Thor wouldn't be able to beat Surtur if he was in full power !!! eh like Hela was missing too much to get all the power of him !!! even being a long time away from Asgard he destroyed Thor's Hammer As if Nothing
@@Mothra02 I mean the Eternal Flame and the Crown of Surtur.
@@Mothra02 Yeah, those comments/memes are just dumb. There is a big difference between Surtur damaged and Surtur full power.
I can actually see why the eternal flame can be stronger than the space stone. Mainly because it can resurrect the dead. Though yes all the infinity stones can counteract it but if not this can just lead to an endless war if Hela wanted to.

@allan joe cayubit Oh, so all of them together can't defeat Hella, but Odin alone can hold her off?😂😂😂 You are kidding, right?
Morgoth can create beings almost by himself...while Hella needs Eternal Flame to do so. Also, Morgoth must be chained in his spiritual form in the Void in order to be stopped...Hella clearly dies with Surtur...

Most probably she is not acting, she is just being herself. In one word, Badass.
Abuamin😉
Imagine if her and thanos went up against each other lol she wouldve sent a spear through his head
Thanos without gauntlet wouldnt stand a chance.
With some stones or all of them it'd be more evenly matched.
@@lucaspoon4202 LMAO, a full Infinity Gauntlet is an "even match" for Hela? She would crumble to dust just from Thanos looking at her
Hela on Asgard vs Base Thanos: Hela 10/10
Hela vs Base Thanos on neutral ground: Hela 6 or 7/10
Hela vs Thanos with any Stone, on Asgard or not: Thanos 10/10

I’m obsessed with Hela! LOVE LOVE LOVE her look, her demeanor and her outfit! So feminine and gorgeous yet so badass and villain-like! Her hair before wearing the thorny thingy is a bit unkempt and greasy (which I blame the costume director), but after the transformation it’s perfect. Exactly how one would picture a stunning Goddess of Death. She’s one hell of a villain! Cate Blanchet was such a fantastic choice for this role!!!
Odin: designs hela to be an executioner
Hela: executes too many people
Odin: “whoops…..”
Such a badaaa character.Such a great acting. And of course can't forget her voice.

Billy butcher lokey doin a little reconnaissance
The amount of sass Cate breathed into Hela is so funny to watch, and I love how the writers took what was just supposed to be a small easter egg from Thor 1 and turned into a full-blown joke for this movie with the fake Infinity Gauntlet
Nooo i don't think so. Loki will do something about it tho😉
Its not her pet it's her brother Fenrir. Marvel really fucked everything up in norse mythology
@@aleeseyamv they didn't fuck it up, the put a new spin on it. Not everything has to be copy/pasted direct from actual mythology.
