I've seen his Grandfather play...I've saw his Uncle's play...I'm 67, with any luck, I'll see 3 generations of The Mannings family throw a football!
God, I love this game!

A Manning with wheels is a scary sight. The amount of pressure that is on him to be good must be tough to deal with. Hoping he has a good career
Peyton had wheels too..first 5-6 years Peyton could move, but he lost his wheels pretty quickly
@JonHop1 The dad had wheels, he stayed on the run and never had a line. Go back and watch those old clips, Father manning wasn't slow at all.
Yep, he's Cooper's son, and I remember hearing Peyton say Cooper was the best athlete out of the 3 brothers. Cooper played WR in high school and was a highly rated prospect, but had to end his career just before his freshman season due to a medical issue.
@@bro_1337 your correct there but I was actually referring to Archie manning the Grandfather, I should've been more clear. Watch some of his old highlights and tell me what you think. The Grandfather had wheels in his day.
@@JonHop1 He never could run very fluidly lol
I’m really rooting for this kid. Crazy name to live up to, but he seems humble and poised. Thats a great starting foundation. Good luck Arch!
The first time I saw Eli play at Ole Miss, he was a redshift freshman. Ole Miss was losing to Michigan, I think, in the Motor City Bowl. Coach Tommy Tuberville put Eli Manning in and he almost won that game, he just ran out of time. I knew then, the magic of the Manning's.
@@barrywatts875 some guys you can just tell right away. Arch had a cannon on one of his throws and he just looks comfortable. Hoping he keeps it up and we get a bunch more years of watching
he sucks
A Manning that can scramble, scary sight
Archie Manning could scramble like a beast back in the 70s and early-80s. Might have been a hall of famer if he hadn't been stuck on perhaps the worst team in the Super Bowl era.
He's already better than Quinn at that.
I grew up in Nashville watching Peyton play for the Vols. I know it may be hard to believe, but Peyton was a solid scrambler in college. As a young qb, he was a much better athlete than people give him credit for! Eli was also a solid scrambler in college. Once in the NFL, both of them were smart enough to stay in the pocket! This kid looked good, and I hope he can sidestep the pressure and enjoy his time in college.
@@stephenmartin6430yessir he was mobile enough
lol i hope sark says : he arch just call whatever plays you want in huddle you got this bud. I seen your uncle Peyton call whatever play he wanted so you got this😂 I'm dreaming
I’d love to see him carry on that lineage and be decent in the NFL. I’m sure Cooper would’ve gone to the league too, so it’s dope to see his son being successful and maybe get to live the NFL dream that was stolen away from his dad.
he throws exactly like Peyton.

yep. Just like Peyton.
Not a fast release but a quick one
He seems about as capable as you could ever hope a freshman QB could be.
Trevor Lawrence? 😂
Yep.
Tua?
Yep
Yeah honestly no. Didn't really show much here at all. Before anyone says it.. I'm a giants fan so needless to say I'm also a Manning cultist, rooting for this kid as hard as anyone.
He still looks like a child out there, he's physically underdeveloped relative to his peers. On the mental side: first tuck and run he missed a wide open reciever, 2nd one he locked onto his first read for too long, and the final pass.. I mean anyone here could make that read/throw. Roll em out, cut the field in half, and there's a reciever squating at 5 yards which he pretty much lollipopped in there. Which after watching him in training camp, his arm strength is legitimately concerning.
But virtually none of this necessarily means a thing, it's his first action (nerve levels have to be off the charts) at a level I honestly don't think he's ready for. But let's not act like he really did anything here. We've seen freshmen far more capable. But all that matters is 3 years down the road, and I hope he continues to grow. Football needs the Mannings.
Cool to see them getting him some developmental reps though.
I grew up watching Archie Manning as a kid. Watched both Eli and Peyton in their careers as well. I wish the best for Arch. ☺️
How good was Archie compared to his son's? He was well before my time.
@@26michaelukpeyton was the better passer of the trio. Archie was a scrambler who could throw. An intense gamer
@@jamesdannelly6760 awesome. Thank you for the answer.
I too grew up watching Archie Manning play. I was six years old when he almost beat Bama and Bear Bryant, on a Saturday night for Ole Miss. He broke his left arm and played for the Saints in a cast.
@@26michaeluk Archie Manning was the best running and throwing quarterback in SEC history until Johnny Manziel . The records prove it. Archie's record for total yards in a single game, stood for 40 plus years until Johnny Manziel broke it.
In 1979-80 Archie Manning was the best quarterback in the NFL on a losing team.
Nice to see Arch getting some reps in finally!!!
This year was mainly a development year let him learn the system let him learn from the coaches and the quarterbacks on the team he will be a terror when he starts next year over ewers
I’m sure his dad n uncles told UT to sit him. They know what they’re doing bro lol
@@joecisneros2256Yep he finished HS early. He's in Austin with coach Sark for a reason.
What I liked was him sliding (with great form!) after his first scramble and seeing him keep his eyes down the field when forced out of the pocket. It shows how technically sound he is football-wise, given his family and all.
Most 19-year-old QBs don’t show that much poise in their first appearance. It will be fun to watch him over the next 2-3 years
I completely agree he showed alot of poise but it's probably easier making your debut in a blowout win. I still think he's going to be great I just want to see him in a real battle.
First thing I noticed considering I watch Josh Allen refuse to do it for the past 6 years lol. I would have loved if Arch audibled out of that 4th and 5 and ran the ball considering they’re up by 100. Hopefully he looked at his HC and wondered what the f he is doing like his uncles would have.
It’s all genetic bro can’t teach nor Coach that
RG3 couldn’t slide in the league even after getting tips from Bryce Harper and the Nationals.
but will he play if Ewers is there? he's just a sophomore. someone will be hitting the portal. fact.

@@Guruji_Josiah_Brahman you never saw Eli play at Ole Miss? Eli has two Superbowl rings and two Superbowl MVPS against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
@@Guruji_Josiah_BrahmanPeyton changed the position. As Belichick said of him, he was an OC at QB. No one had ever had to deal with a QB with that kind of football IQ before and the ability to process it so quickly. Work hard and stay humble.
He was a fool to choose Texas over his other schools. He would have been a four year starter at UVA. At Texas, he'll ride the bench until he's a junior. Also, Texas is moving to the SEC so no more Mickey Mouse games against BYU, Baylor, Texas Tech, etc.
@@Zenigundam UVA ....I dont see them in the top 100 Rankings .. :(
@@Zenigundam UVA? lmao. This has to be a troll. Also, TX beats Bama last year if not for QB injury and then does beat Bama in their own house this year. A manning that’s mobile I like that.
He looks to have great pocket awareness and goes through his progressions very well. Also, can we talk about that point of release timing when throwing? That’s scary fast, hes going to be unstoppable with the correct support.
As a college qb, Peyton used to be a solid scrambler. Once he got to the NFL, he was smart enough to stay in the pocket. When Peyton was young, he was a much better athlete than people gave him credit for. Arch looks like a much more athletic version of Peyton and Eli. Arch's father was also a college football player. I think he was a wr, but suffered a career ending neck injury. Kid looked great in limited action!
Technically, Cooper didn’t suffer a career ending neck injury. He suffered a neck injury that prompted further up at the Mayo Clinic. For some reason I like that Peyton got him to not pat the ball before his release, Its cool to see that he listens, its such a natural thing for QBs to do but Peyton thought it wasted time. Its funny to see Arch does the same thing. Caleb, Shedeur etc all those guys pat it first & then throw. It does not make him better or worse its JUST cool to see.
