- Emergency services in Brazil pulled off a dramatic rescue operation for a stranded horse during floods that have devastated the Rio Grande do Sul state.
The horse, named Caramelo by social media users because of its tawny fur, had been stranded on a rooftop for six days
Caramelo was first spotted on top of the building by a news helicopter, prompting a nationwide appeal for its rescue.
The horse had been balancing on two narrow strips of slippery asbestos for days in Canoas, a city in Porto Alegre; one of the hardest-hit areas in the state

I can’t watch this video because it will break my heart big time, but want to say A MILLION THANK YOU FOR rescuing that beautiful creature of God.
Actually, despite all human stupidity and greed that is leading us to a climatic mayhem, the effort to rescue and help people is a light of heartwarming hope. All Brazil is sending tons of money and supplies to the people that were affected.
There are hundreds of videos of animal rescues being done in Rio Grande do Sul during this past 2 weeks. Dogs and cats waiting hopelessly to be saved on rooftops, on logs, some even in the water. It's heartbreaking! But the effort that's being made to save all those animals is something i've never seen before. I'm from São Paulo, but these people from Rio Grande do Sul are REALLY teaching us all a lesson. There's a saying one of the rescuers said in a video that became a motto: "No one will be left behind".
I hope caramelo lives the rest of her life in a beautiful sanctuary my heart goes out to all of those affected by the flooding. The future will only bring more extreme floods and weather and we need to find ways support each other in the ever changing world 🐴💚

We are. Only in my city, about 50 horses, 2.000 dogs, uncontable cats, about 100 chicken, about 20 cows, not known number of birds and animal diverse, like pet rats, fish (it sounds comic to save fish from flood, I know), cinchilas and even a snake.

Those who are conquered do NOT have spontaneous LOVE, but only forced love, and they are forced to LOVE GOD. Natural love flourishes through understanding gained through practical experience. This love covers the HUMAN HEART and encourages them to willingly be FAITHFUL to GOD; the WORDS of GOD become their FOUNDATION and they are ABLE to suffer for God. Of course, these are THINGS that a person HAS made PERFECT by GOD. 🙏
If all you DESIRED was CONQUEROR, you could NOT WITNESS for GOD; if God only achieves His goal of SAVING THROUGH SUBJECTING PEOPLE, the work will be completed at the foot of the servants. However, CONQUERING PEOPLE IS NOT GOD'S ULTIMATE goal, which is to make PEOPLE PERFECT. ☀️
So instead of saying this PHASE is the WORK of LAND SUBJECT, say it is the WORK of PERFECTION and elimination. Some PEOPLE have not been completely CONQUERED, and as they are conquered, a GROUP OF PEOPLE WILL BE PERFECTED. 🙏
These TWO pieces of WORK are carried out at the same time. ☀️
The people have not left even after a long period of work, and this shows that the conquering ideal has been achieved---this is a proof of being conquered. Refinement is not to CONQUER, but to PERFECT. 🛑

Provavelmente chegou nadando quando a água estava muito alta, com dificuldade subiu da lateral até o centro do telhado com seus cascos na telha de zinco escorregadia e quando conseguiu se equilibrar ali no centro não se moveu mais.
É muita tristeza, existem áudios de pessoas se despedindo dos parentes pois não ia sobreviver ao alagamento que aconteceu rápido de mais. Um dos audios que circularam por aqui foi "Salvei criança que estavam ilhadas e coloquei elas no barco, uma delas pediu para pegar a boneca que estava boiando... Não era uma boneca, era um bebê". E muitos outros áudios tristes de mais, o governo ta falhando em ajudar, o povo que está ajudando.

I think this more distant rural area in a town called Canoas was observed by drones only some days after the flood began. When the horse was discovered there, they prepared the rescue in one day. Even firefighters from another state not in the south (São Paulo) where there to help.

Brazilian first "lady" made a hush in social media telling she was responsible by the rescue. São Paulo firefighters were, called by a private institution for defence of horses. Disgusting.
Imagine 2/3 of the UK's flooded... that's the scale of this climate disaster in Brazil. The territory of the State of Rio Grande do Sul is actually a bit larger than the UK's territory, and 2/3 of that is underwater now. It's the biggest disaster due to climate change we ever had in Brazil. I heard corpses of thousands missing people have started to float. Such a painful lesson for the voters of this State, which majoritly supports right-wings politicians - including Bolsonaro - that deny global warming and take political actions to facilitate the Amazon deforestation.
