- Here I show how to Diagnose and Repair My temperature Gauge not working on my 1991 E-350 Class C Motorhome with a Ford 7.5l Engine (460ci)
I got my new Temperature sender on Ebay:

Thank you for letting me know where that bad boy was, makes my work a whole lot easier on my 94 Winnebago.👍👍👍
I'm so glad it helped you.
Thanks for your well documented fix. I have a 74 Mercedes with the same problem, but hope it is the sender, not the gauge. Will know tomorrow.... Thanks for your video, VW
Thank you for this video
I changed my sensor Ford E-150 5.8L W. It was reading very low all the time with the new sender in it reads above the 1/2 way. Still in Normal Range but above 1/2. I measured the temp with a digital thermometer at 159 F. Mike
That was really Helpful. Thanks
How about if my conector have two prongs.???
Great job do you know on a video? Out there for the light on your van for the shifter indicator on the steering column ?????
Great video to the. Point very helpfully
Great video straight to the point
Thanks
Hope it helped👍
Same issue on a 96 Ranger with the 3.0. Ground sender, gauge pegs to hot. So, not the instrument cluster. Drive for a while, gauge will stay pegged below cold, even when engine is hot, then later, after thermostat opens, then gauge will suddenly move to the center, takes around 15 minutes.
Ford thought it was the Sensor, since I already changed the Sender AND I checked the Sender wire and it is making a good electrical connection. So, changed the sensor too, same issue.
So, still unsolved.
My guess is the thermostat is sticking/bad. It sounds like it's sticking till it gets warm and then finally pops open and probably gets stuck in that position.
I have a '98 Ranger 4.0 and when I first bought it the thermostat was stuck wide open, The gauge never moved, the motor didn't warm up much and the heater didn't put out any heat.
Great vid thanks!
Glad it helped
can you use any wire to ground it with the battery ?
Yea, pretty much any wire, you're just testing the gauge to see if it works
@@umpquaoutdoors just tried it, gauge didn’t move at all. But there’s current on the wire itself so I’m assuming it’s the gauge that doesn’t work
You hero
Thanks - but I haven't worn a cape in a while.
@@umpquaoutdoors also do you have a part number and store you got the replacement from?
@@thezackperry24 I got it on Ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/334171084206
@@umpquaoutdoors throw that cape on lol
I have en ford 1997 E350 econoline
I changed the same sensor but still sending the same code and still not reading the temperature..
Anything else I could do on this?
Ever find out the problem? Dealing with this exact problem right now

Hi did your cooling fan turn on properly?
I have a mechanical cooling fan (run by a belt).
