Both Ashwin & Bairstow play their 100th test at Dharamsala. First time ever 2 players from different teams playing their 100th test in the same match in India 👍
Will Bairstow play?
@@_AmarjitSinghWell he played the 4th test after a poor performance in the 3rd. With a better showing in the 4th ( 70+ runs) match, he's bound to play! Pope just had a pair and Stokes only 7 runs, Robbo outscored them both added together!
Wrong , this is not the first time two players are playing their 100th test in the same match, Mike Atherton and Alex Stewart played their 100th test together.
@@ahmedshakib3883 Did you read what he put? 2 players from DIFFERENT TEAMS
@@joeclay587 I read it and he has edited it , please read , I would have not added that if he added two different teams.
There's going to be a lot of criticism of England focusing on their batting approach - but for me the biggest issue is how that approach hurts the bowling unit. Giving them only 50 overs of rest will never win you Test matches. Jurel, Jaiswal and co showed England the value of batting TIME, spending hours at the crease. If you do it, you hurt the opposition more.
Exactly. Need to drop the bazball bs. 1-2 aggressive players in a team, thats about it. The others need to bat long conventionally
They should had played you instead of robinson..markwood😅

In this test they played normal Test cricket though. Bazzball was missing.

India have lost only 3 Test Series at home in last 35 years
1. South Africa(2000)
2. Australia(2004)
3. England(2012)
This record is insane
Everytime due to our great spinners...
Do u notice that in the england series defeat ,Ashwin was not there ,only pragyan Ojha was the pick of bowlers but he was not a bowler who can break vital partnership...
Then from the Australia series in India ,Ashwin came and no one could ever think of defeating India
And lost all major tournaments in last 11 years 🤣😂🤣😂

Remember 2018 series? India had great chance of winning that one. India messed up on critical moments in that series, england are doing the same. There was a new guy on the block called sam Curran. Jaiswal is doing the same.
Exactly, that series ended with 4-1 scoreline against India, could well have been 3-2 for India. Time and time again we lost crucial moments.
Yup the scorecard wouldn't reflect how close fought that series was. Except at Lords where we got blown away, we were in at many points. A few of the times just couldn't chase down targets which we should have. And just couldn't get Curran out and he made all the difference.
Jurel has been the key difference as far as batting is concerned in this test. Breathed life into India's chances of winning this test and the series.
He really changed the energy's when he came in 2nd innings.
There was a sense if positivity ,you can feel from him
We take for granted Jaiswals contribution now 😂

England were lucky to get what they did.
Had India had a full squad with Kohli etc, it would have been even worse of a defeat IMHO.

i would like to tip my hat to the British test team supporters who travelled to India - I am sure the team really appreciates to have their corner of support in remote country . Also the English team was almost there in this game -as a rabid Indian team supporter ( as if there is any other type) I had switched off watching after 2nd day thinking we are cooked . But for that youngster Jurel playing out of his skin . This English team has earned a lot of respect in this series and we can all eagerly look for the final match where I suspect the scales will be even or slightly tilted towards England (for a change)
Agree! They're a very watchable team...win or lose. And England remains the home of test cricket, so they deserve a great team, which hopefully England will be in a couple years time
To be brutally honest this was Englands best chance to win a series in India and i have to say they just destroyed it with just themselves to blame. They played good cricket but played horribly bad in patches and that patches caused them the game. They just miss players like cook and kp who played a pivotal role in 2012 success
Agreed. Threw away 2 tests from winning positions. Didn't need bazball at rajkot, played it, needed bazball yesterday, played snailball
Hey common , don't talk about Players like Cook or KP still Playing,it never happens like that
@@Nothing-kr5hn snailball 🤣🤣
@@thiru_asc1 i agree it never happens like that. But sometimes to win a test series especially in India there needs to be a lot of grinding like how cook did very well in 2012 and also some powerful counterattack like how kp did in Mumbai.

Two of the finest commentators and thinkers of the game. Just love listening to the gentle but cutting edge comments, not afraid to laugh at themselves - just beautiful conversation to listen to two greats of the game. As an India fan, just loved the outcome but England played very well and may have missed a great chance to beat us at home with key personnel missing.. Great series! I said prior to the series when everyone was saying 5-0 to India, I thought this was England's best chance to win. I still feel that. Credit to India's young batsmen. I barely recognized India's batting lineup, and yet they batted beautifully. I really hope England persevere with Bashir. He could be up there with Graeme Swann
The chemistry between them is amazing.
When they make fun of each other's skill as cricketer, it is absolute hilarious 😂
Jurel stood out for me. Safe hands, proper Technique and a calm demeanour, all at 23. Good to see a keeper come in who has the right application and is grounded in technique.
As an Indian fan this is most close test series and ly Aus ran close in 2017 which was also another amasing series ..Really loved stokes captaincy who made those rookie spinners punch much above their moment .India thrived on playing attirition cricket and eng tried for quick win which might work in England but nature of pitch in India is different challenge ....Hoping for another good test match in Dharamshala ...
Yes.. especially trusting his young spinners .. India is a place where great shane Warne and Murali sometimrs struggles .. but Stokes made sure his budding spinners were unbelivable .. feeling for stokes.. one of my favourite foreign player is Warner, because he will never accept lose until the last ball.. Stokes is on the same category
It is interesting because indian middle order is non existent because of new players..England Middle order underperformed costing them the series...Their bowlers did well...
This is young Indian Team!! Without the likes of Kohli, Rahul, Shami and three debutants (Sarfraz, Jurel and Akashdeep) and at most we have inexperienced middle order. So, you expect the Close series. No doubt about that!!.. I appreciate England the way they managed with the Resources they had. But they lost on many occasions from better position. So, we must also credit Rohit & co.. for staying calm and cool and grabbing the opportunities. Indeed, England did better on this tour. But still they are confused and stand in between being aggressive and Calm and that's never going to yield them Good Results. They need to distinguish between when to stay calm and when to be aggressive and that's what is beauty of test cricket and same what England Experts said in post match discussion that England should learn from Jurel and Gill. Also, I don't give credit to Shreyas and Patidar. They are straight away Free Roaming wicket for England and India indeed playing all 4 Test Match with only 10 or 9 Players. Indeed, England also played with 10 Players as Bairstow is always busy in pavilion.

Non only that I think around 9 Dr's favored eng in 4th test .
Another England moral victory.
Pope had 59 false shots during his innings of 196. While in the next 6 innings he committed 33 false shots for 6 dismissals. Brings out the luck factor in Pope’s brilliant innings.
Can India claim the moral victory now that Bazball has been forced to play traditional cricket ?
These two guys are so good - analytical, balanced and humorous.
Happy realisation...I knew this since 15 years though
Pope's innings in first Test gave hope. But in all it has been Stoke's captaincy that has kept this series interesting. His field placements and making full use of his limited bowling attack has been fantastic to watch.
Indian team is difficult to beat in home conditions but for India to win with so many newcomers is mind boggling.
You are right. They had beaten Australia at Gaba with a team full of youngsters and makeshift captain
And stokes batting is worst in this series
This is India’s B team without Kohli, Bumrah , Shami,Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant,Rahul to name a few. And still they are able to beat England. Unbelievable. Kudos to Rohit for leading from the front . Stokes never led from the front , he was more like advisory role, setting fieldings, chosing bowlers when to bowl, taking DRS call and moan at Umpires etc . Nothing else . Big difference..
Well said
hardik pandya? you must be kidding? when did he play test. was it 6 years back?
@@kmprash Hardik Pandya played his last Test match against England in August 2018
Since then, he has not participated in any first-class fixtures or Test cricket for Team India
I think England's got the potential and the right attitude to play the game along with stokes captaincy but they must learn about the game awareness during crucial passages of the play. They were in control in third test day 2 and here too on day 2 but lack of game awareness put them on backfoot. When chips are down, teams like Australia or India only need a bit of mistakes from their opponents to get back into the game and to crush them, specially when you're playing in their own backyard.
Don't equate any other cricket team with Australia. No one is on their level
@@XZagatoX Do I need to remind you that we have beaten Aussies four consecutive times in different test series. We're better than Australia. Just because we couldn't win two finals against them, doesn't make us any less. But then again, we've lost finals since 2014 against different teams so this clearly is because of our lack of performance at our highest level on the most important day, not the other way around.
India is now god father of World cricket no one is on thair level no 1 team in the world remember it & don't compare
Kuldeep back as an accurate all pitch Test spinner and Jurel the batsmen will be the find of this series. Jaiswal stamping his authority as the next big thing. Amazing series for future of Indian cricket

Don't know how Jonny bairstow played 99th test with just 2 excellent season with average of 60+ other than that it's been mid 35 which is not good to be in a test side .
He is just going to play his last in Dharmasala 😂😂😂😂
agreed, very lucky to have played so much
I can define this thing , want your reply on this -
.
When he debuted he started as keeper , at that tym there were no competition for keeping slot . .and ENG do play more test matches than any other team
Once he lost his keeping, he got few good test matches and ENG kept playing him again he lost form then first year of BAZBALL he played well now again come Bach to his old best 😂😂😂😂
Well Dharmasala will be his last test for sure . Brook will replace him
Because he was a wicket keeper batsman for most of his career. That's a decent average for wicket keeper batsmen.
Bairstow pushed to get the gloves and went on record throughout his career he knew that’s the only way he could get in the team
Jonny Bairstow has big weaknesses in his batting, even after a good start he is not able to score big runs because he is a half-baked batsman.
Why would not touring teams adapt to Indian pitches and select their teams accordingly? Hard to understand, regardless lot of credit goes to Indian coach and captain for giving chances to youngsters.
It's tough bro you have to good spinners with experience but they cannnot match the quality of Indian spinners plus batting wise you have to bat sensibly as well
Bazball under fire🔥 both Gill and Jurel showed it not about attacking scoring runs, proper test match (grinding) batting got them close to the target then started hitting big shots.. young lads taking responsibility treat to the eyes, well played India.

Very competitive display by both the teams . The game was decided only towards the last hour or so & nobody could clearly predict the likely winner until stumps at day three. Even pundits here were giving India 60% chance with few subscripts & their forecast lacked confidence . It was obviously so because their heart was more on the side of the nation.
Of course nothing to take away from the heroics of dhruv & shubhman during those last hours- two young men of Indian cricket showed their class as regards calmness & ability to stay at the crease till the very last ensuring series is sealed in India's favour. One positive aspect of IPL that has influenced Indian cricket hugely , these young bloakes want to win the game & they enter the arena with tons of confidence & no fear.

Truly it has been a fighting series...Kudos to young English spinners...well played
Seriously, it is one of the closely fought series that I have seen in Indian pitches. If my memory serves me right, I remember eng winning in the 2012-13 series and Aus winning in the year 2004-05. These are the only 3 closely fought series in Indian turning pitches and a couple of them going to the touring side but not this time.
Overall, it was a high quality test cricket that was on the display from both teams in the last 4 test matches.
2017-18 bgt also close fought
Stokes’ failure as a batsman and not serving as a bowling option either is another big reason IMO.
He shouldn't have played the World Cup for me and had the knee operation sooner.
They need to start giving other all rounders a look especially at test level, it helps the balance of the side so much.
Wonderful test series and thanks for all the british fans who came here to support literally test cricket.Test cricket is alive in India, its already in full steam in England and Australia.
The most depressing part is that England had a number of opportunities to win in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th tests and pis:ed it away.
One in the millions The Hussain and Mr. Atherton .❤
Great to see the old English veterans supporting their team, even in a loss. Hope it’s the same in the sub-continent, where we fans get too swayed by ups and downs, and even the pundits simply exacerbate the situation instead of putting things in context.
It's surprising that English pundits can't stop singing praises about Ben Stokes. He has looked worst batter in English lineup (after Bairstow)
I dont know why people call naseer husssain ego maniac but as far as i know he is fair analyser
Well India's victory was to stop England from playing Bazball in this test. They were forced to play normal cricket. And next was to put them under pressure. Eng was lucky that Ash is still not at his best form.
Anyways a great display by India's Second string team to show they are capable of winning crucial moments.
