I Installed 3 Inch Rear Lift Blocks on my 2018 Ford F150

  • I walk you step by step through installing 3 inch lift blocks to the rear of my 2018 Ford F150 to add 1.5" of lift over stock. After installing my front leveling kit to clear my Raptor wheels and tires, there was a noticeable amount of squat in the rear when I towed. I installed the lift blocks to level out the truck when towing, and I love the stance, as well as the extra lift.

    Perfect video! Thanks man. I’ve got the Raptor wheels, have the level picked out and was trying to figure out what size rear block to add so I still can safely tow and haul.

    You need to get some of those rear wheel well liners they make a big difference and they also protect the inside of bare wheel well from getting rock chips and rusting potentially

    I have the same truck and just had installed Fox 2.0 2" leveling front coil overs and Icon Delta joint UCA's and now it has a bit of squat in the back, this should cure that I hope. Also, I'm now wanting to go to a larger tire like yours, can you please tell me what your offset is on your wheels? Thanks for a great video...2 thumbs up!

      Thanks for watching! These Ford factory Raptor wheels are 17"x8.5" with a 34mm offset. I still have the factory UCAs, and they do not come close. You may want to confirm that will work. with your Icons.

    So you’re saying that on an 09 F150 Lariat, with no factory crash bars, I should have no problem with 35x12.5r20’s when I install my 4” lift. Really like the look of your 150!

      Thanks! I can only speak to the set up on my 2018, as I know it's different from the 09. I am pleased that I only needed 2.5" of level to fit that size.

      I've always liked the look of the lower stripe from the factory, but could not find a truck that had that along with my other wants, so I had a local vinyl shop install the lower stripe. I'm very pleased with it, and it's held up well for almost 2 years now.

    Do you have to tighten the back blocks to a certain spec?

    • @TheGoodeLifeOutdoors
      @TheGoodeLifeOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      Yes, and in fact, it's best to do it in steps, as the new ubolts tend to stretch a bit. The end spec is 120 ft/lbs, so start with 30, then 60, then 90 before hitting 120. I hope that makes sense.

    • @TheGoodeLifeOutdoors
      @TheGoodeLifeOutdoors  Před rokem +3

      While I did get an alignment with my front level lift, I did not feel the need to do so with the rear lift blocks. I was careful to line up the hardware with where it sat before, and I have not noticed any unusual wear from this install.

      @@TheGoodeLifeOutdoors the instructions don’t say to use thread locker that’s why I ask. And you’re supposed to check the torque at 100 miles and 500 and 1000 so wouldn’t your think it’s pointless since it’s gonna break the bond? Probably will take the tires off this weekend and add some of my orange thread locker (stronger then blue but removable) just to be safe

      No, mine has the max tow package with the 3:73 gears, and I'm pleased with the setup. Gas mileage and performance were only slightly altered with the larger tires, so I'll keep it as-is. If I were to go bigger, I'd definitely consider re-gearing.

    I’m going to install a 1 inch block onto my rear Tacoma because it’s sagging so much. Will this be a problem in the long run? I’m not doing any off-roading . Just street

    • @TheGoodeLifeOutdoors
      @TheGoodeLifeOutdoors  Před rokem +2

      I would look into the reason your truck is sagging to begin with - may be worn out shocks or springs. I installed mine to compensate for sag while towing, but am confident my suspension is solid.

      I love that you're so passionate about design aesthetic. I'm a bit more old school in my preferences, so I don't feel the need to be all matchy-matchy across the whole truck. I like the pops of chrome. I like that the wheels and lower stripe are the same color. I definitely like my offroad tires since I actually need to go off the beaten path. I certainly appreciate vehicles that are set up how you've described. Thanks for stopping by!
