I've been going with that one, she made rose stab her
Rose sword physically cuts through the gems body NOT the gem itself no way rose could have stabbed PD unless rose was willing to use some kind of secret super weapon styled like a sword and can easily shatter a diamond but as we've seen and heard so far rose isn't willing to do such a thing meaning rose is out of the question, for now.

the off-colors a group of PINK/red color gems all living in a PINK Diamond's kindergarten really screams Pink was Off-color herself, maybe wanted to permafuse with another gem (my guess White, since i really only see the Diamonds being about to interact with themselves)
this explains why Pink never got a planet until Earth her pro-off color views made the gem nobles didn't trust her, and Earth was going to be the first safe zone for them hence why it was connected to every other colony and Pink was raising a massive defense army
this also means Pink and the CG were fighting for the same reasons just didn't talk to each other aka the core theme of the show
I have a theory, blue and yellow are roughly the same size so they are probably as strong as each other the Statue of White outside the court is leading me to believe that White Is much more powerful than the other two, my point being is that in the scene where blue is grieving on Earth she is nearly the size of Pinks palenkine so she was probably a weaker diamond, How you ask? Since it seems a lot of gem culture is similar to Hindu mythical culture (like the caste system), I think the Diamonds are treated as the Hindu triumvirate then I can see White Diamond being Brahman who after creating the universe was more hands off with things while Vishnu (Blue Diamond) and Shiva (Yellow Diamond) took control of the universe as the gods of preservation and destruction. To me that is why i think White Diamond seems to be absent from all of this, her function as the creator is finished so she no longer takes part in the day to day lives of the gem homeworld.

Could be... White Diamond has the most planets, while Pink only had one... But who knows how old the Gem race is... Wouldn't they have lots and lots of planets under their control if it's already been more than 6000 years? We don't know how much it takes a Gem colony to rule over a planet. It may depend how many living creatures are there and whether how powerful their forces are. Although it might be that the murals in the Moon Base are outdated.
For the most part, it might be that many places have knowledge of the Gems. The show takes place in the remote Beach City after all so we might not be so sure. The Rebellion could have taken place in Beach City thousands of years ago, since the Crystal Temple was there.
It's also strange that the NASA (or whichever space organiztion SU's Earth has) hasn't detected the Moon Base.

Yes! I absolutely love everything said here. To everyone who quickly predicts Yellow or White to be at fault, I would show them this video. Everyone expresses grief differently, and one of my favourite aspects of the show is how they portray that so vividly in Blue and Yellow. People look at Yellow's actions and call it suspicious. But I think that's just how she expresses her grief.

Yellow seems a lot like the person who just bottles up their feelings, thinking that showing emotion is a sign of weakness (which is very unhealthy BTW,) and the kind of person that wants to pin point blame on one thing because it's easier to deal with, and think once it's gone everything will be all better.Yellow is running away from her feelings, while Blue wallows in her own feelings.
That's basically it. I'd also add, for those persons who see Yellow's anger/actions in this episode as a proof of her guilt - that she's just being herself. From the very beginning she makes us understand that she sees no point in having a trial. To her, Rose is the responsable and she has every right to think so, since everybody told her that Rose Quartz did it, there are eye witnesses, and who would lie to a Diamond ? So to her, the trial serve no purpose since there's already a culprit : Rose, aka Steven. So of course she's impatient and she just wants to end this, after all that time. She just wants to destroy the gem who killed her ally / lil sis - I mean she obviously cared a lot about her, as much as Blue.And at the end, to no surprise, she's outraged by Zircon's statement. Through her eyes, a simple subject is basically accusing her and her closest friends of murdering a person she loved - not to mention that, atop of that, this gem is accusing all of the rulers. If it doesn't scream "insolence" and "treason", I don't know what does. Honestly, I expected her to shatter Blue Zircon right here right there. So honestly, I don't get people who are all "duuh Yellow is surely the true responsable behind the conspiracy". Honestly I blame White Diamond.

I really feel like pink diamond planned her own death / committed suicide. Steven Universe has dealt with so many subjects that have never really been dealt with on kids shows such as same sex couples, discrimination against others and now special needs with the introduction of padparascha (I believe this to be the case anyway). Introducing a character who commited suicide would follow this trend, as it would teach kids about the rarely mentioned topic of taking one's life

watch any crime show... the first major suspect is almost never the one who committed the crime. Yellow is too obvious in terms of storyboarding to be the one to shatter Pink without some major complications. we already hate Yellow, why double down on making her the baddie especially when SU is all about showing how even evil characters like Jasper have complex motives behind why they act and think how they do? no, if yellow was involved, it wasn't only her idea.

Blue Zircon did say herself that it must of been someone of high status like one of the diamonds so it must of been WD since it's our only given option thus far. But that's way too predictable. The writers of SU would go for something way more unexpected than that.

It's actually kinda funny because this entire video was exactly what I was thinking, and it makes me so happy to see that one of the most known Steven Universe theorist agrees! I would be really mad if it was Yellow or White Diamond, because it is too smack-in-the-face obvious. I think that a really interesting twist would be that Pink commited suicide, and somehow did something like use a hologram of Rose to make it look like Rose did it. And before all of it, hid her Pearl away somewhere. It would teach kids that suicide is a REALLY bad thing, and it is something that people do! As a PG rated show, I think it would fit in. I could fathom that Pink could've had something to do with her own death, I'm just not sure how it coincides with White and Yellow's potential involvement yet.

Honestly, Yellow Diamond's behavior makes perfect sense for her character, without being guilty.
Look at that scene from her perspective:
The murderer, war-criminal, and rebel that you have every reason to believe killed your sister handed herself to you on a silver platter, and for SOME reason, your other sister feels the need to go through a trial, when her crimes already rate death, without question.
And then, after "the accused" insults you with a mangled retelling of their grisly crime, their lawyer comes back and accuses you and your sister (who have both been grieving for literally thousands of years) of being the one's who killed your sister.
The wild, baseless accusation is all you can handle.
You end the mockery of a trial at once and move to execute the traitor, and in the ensuing argument, the criminal escapes.
You call to her that she cannot hide from your justice on your world, a promise of vengeance befitting a ruler of the world.

I think Pearl shattered Pink Diamond.
Here's why:
So, the only way a gem could get close enough to a Diamond is if they were close and trusted, correct?
Pearls are very close to their diamonds at all times.
Blue Diamond said Pink Diamond was shattered with a SWORD, correct? It's already been proven that Rose Quartz more than likely didn't shatter her, as she wouldn't have been able to.. And none of the Diamonds have exactly been seen to own a sword yet.
But who does have a sword and would've been close enough to Pink Diamond to shatter her?
Pearl.
Pearl wouldn't have been able to call out in alarm if she were the one attacking.
I rest my case.

So, pearls have their gems in the same placing as their diamonds do.. Blue and yellow - Chest.
Pink diamond - Not sure yet.
I don't think the pearl we know was actually Pink Diamond's..
So, I'm concluding that Pearl belongs to White Diamond, because her gem is on her forehead, like White Diamond's gem.

But everyone knows that white diamond is very powerful and probably acknowledged as the top diamond and we also know that pink diamond was beloved and seen as a saint, well what if white diamond got jealous because of all the attention given to pink and purposely allowed pink to get shattered and that's why she wants to stay hidden and secretive
This is just a theory and there's not really any evidence but hey it's possible
White diamond is the smartest diamond and the strongest too I think, so playing that child game of jealously does not fit. For sure WD is a no feelings leader, just focused on her colonies and the resources

What if Blue Dimond is responsible! I think that pink Dimond wanted to end her existence and blue diamond couldn't watch her be in pain. So blue Dimond helped set up her death. So after all these years Blue Dimond was on a guilt trip and thinks she is not the one responsible. Even though she is.
