The fans refer to Yellow and Blue Pearl as such to tell them apart. In the show, all three pearls are just referred to as "Pearl".

I love your videos and I had an idea that I saw from the roundtable. What if white diamond's name wasn't just "the diamond" but a litle more grand. What if her name was Paragon. A Paragon is like a perfect diamond that is flawless. If you look up "Paragon Diamond" under images, you get pictures of this necklace that is made of diamonds. At the bottom of the necklace there is a blue diamond follows by a pink and yellow diamond. But after that is Paragon, the flawless diamond in white/clear color. What if the diamond authority is like this necklace and thus, white diamond's name would be Paragon, this is just an idea and I hope that you like it.💎

I was looking at the four diamonds and I just realized... they're the four elements (as far as I know) Blue: Water, she's usually seen crying, her subjects Sapphire, ice... Lapis and Aqua Marine, water. Yellow: Fire, she shoots lightning and has "fiery" emotions, her subject Ruby, fire. Pink, Earth, she supposedly came out of the ground and her colony IS after all 🌎, her subject Jasper, "frictional rock melt", and for what we know, Peridots could've originally been pink's with the metal powers and such. White: Air, we haven't seen much of her but from the picture, she seems to be descending from the sky as well as yellow has two stars in her hands as well as the background having the subtle feel of fire as if she was made from it and blue's mural kinda looks like the dress is waves, we know her dress isn't actually striped like that... unless she was poofed and reformed... and pink looks like she's rising from the ground in her mural.

Slice Of Otaku, I was rewatching the episode of the gem trail, and discovered something when Steven and Lars went into Blue Diamond’s palanquin. If you look in the background of when the palanquin was in the air, you will see a giant white silhouette similar to a person. Not only that, but the hair looked very similar to the picture of White Diamond on the moon base.

They refer to her as white diamond because since she's above all the other colors and you were saying she created them, they would put her as the "White diamond" since that white/clear is what bends light to create the other colors. On top of that in an episode the gems said their bodies where an illusion of some sort created by light.

Also, I believe the flashes held in Yellow Diamond's hands are symbolistic of her control over the twin, co-orbiting stars which birthed the binary star system that Homeworld orbits. Yellow has control over Homeworld's power production, although the designing of the Cluster was a privilege given to her for her immense services in the First Gem War. Currently, White has main control over weaponry, leading to the idea behind Paragon

I just noticed something about the murals! I know the murals were there before the shattering of Pink Diamond but it fits in so well to what the diamonds are like now. First Yellow Diamond, YD is looking up in her mural, she is looking towards the future. She is wanting to move past Pink Diamond's death. Next, Blue Diamond. BD is looking down at the past, not wanting to move on after what happen. She wants to cling to the past and all of the things that remind her of PD. Now for the fallen Pink Diamond, she is pretty much looking straight up at her first colony, Earth. PD is looking towards a successful colony, a successful life. Now of course that didn't happen. Finally, the great White Diamond, she is looking towards us towards respect and power out of everything. WD is the leader of all gems. She is in the present. White Diamond is wanting to be where she is now. If I missed anything or you want to correct me on something, please feel free to do so. I want to know how I can make this better.
Maybe the diamonds are fusions. Like a bunch of gems fused together where gem is in the same place and around the same color. And maybe they hate fusion because they want a fusion to be as powerful as them.

I've also been reading a few comments about White Diamond being a fusion S.O.O. Think about it. White represent the reflection of all colors, or in some cases no color at all. Clarity is often represented by the color white. If you add up the planets of the other diamonds then they equal that of white diamonds mural. However, without Pink diamonds 2 spheres (1 Planet 1 moon) she cannot exist and maybe that's why no one talks about her. She's not an individual. Or she could be a fake individual created by the other 3 diamonds to keep power of homeworld and the gems as an unstoppable authority that is never to be seen. To go along with this would be why homeworld is so against fusions. The diamonds themselves may know the power of fusing but if the gems under them found out or widely used it they could overthrow the diamond authority. It's like a secret. But maybe I missed a million details and I just wasted your time and you're about to write a 6 page essay proving me wrong...

I'd like to point out White Diamonds are considered perfect. They have no flaws.
In contrast, Pink has a structural deformity. Blue has an excess of boron, Yellow of nitrogen that's spread across.
Imperfection can't make perfection. Pink, Blue, and Yellow's imperfections cannot make White Diamond. No matter what, White Diamond cannot be a fusion due to what the components are. They're imperfect. They're flaws. White Diamond is perfect, she is flawless. She is a true Diamond, to her, Blue and Yellow are failures.
Lyson Toughec Yeah, you caught me. White Diamond only has one gem, and it's on her forehead, which already prevents her from being a fusion. She is also white even though the mix of the other Diamonds' colors is brown. She has her own planets on her mural, meaning she's a completely different Diamond. Lastly, Blue Diamond, Yellow Diamond, and White Diamond were all present to create the corruption blast, as seen in Lapis' flashback(the corruption light splits into blue, yellow, and white light)and when asked about what caused corruption, Centipeedle draws the Diamond insignia with only Blue, Yellow, and White Diamond.
Well all of the colored diamonds' colonies combined add up to how many colonies white diamond has (not including the circle in the center)

White Diamond is probably in charge of societal functions and hierarchy. She probably dictates the role of every gem ever and if so she decided that pearls should be servants. That's why the Crystal gems don't talk about her because her leadership is the reason that they can't be anything that they aren't meant to be unless they rebel.

evrytim I think of the Cluster that Peridot talked about, I think of White Diamond. If that sphere White Diamond is holding in the picture is Earth, then i feel like she is the Cluster growing in Earth. Peridot said that the Cluster is WAY bigger than Earth, and it will destroy everything. I also think White Diamond is the leader of the Diamonds but no one wants to speak of her. and also, when Peridot came out for the bathroom and went to the Prime Kindergarten with steven, they went into this place Peridot showed Steven. It showed where the cluster was growing and that it was some sort of geo weapon and when the shape if the cluster appeared, I thought it might be White Diamond's head but at a side view maybe instead of a front view.
