I know this is off topic from the main part of the video, but you mentioned it in the intro and I wanted to bring it up. You mentioned how part of the fan base really likes Blue Diamond despite her despicable atrocities she's committed on Gem and human-kind. It has occured to me in my few years of being in the SU fandom that- most likely due to the show being less consistent with its schedule- the fandom sees most things through a lens of recency. This is not necessarily a bad thing, so let me explain. Let's take the Blue Diamond example: in this Steven Bomb, we didn't see much off the ruthless, strict leader she is. We saw a gem who was hurt and in mourning. The Crewniverse wrote her to be sympathized with and, for the most part, it worked. This is why I think her fans really like her right now: they aren't looking at the whole picture. Another example could be people trying to defend their certain characters by saying they've done nothing wrong. People forget about all of the bad things that happened in the past not because they don't want to remember these flaws in their favorite characters, but because they happened so long ago, if not in canon time than in real time. Pearl, Amethyst, Peridot, Lapis, Jasper, all great characters who have all done varying levels of horrible stuff, but the fans forgive them for it. It's not that they've done nothing wrong, but they've grown and developed past that. The main point of this comment was basically to address this issue, because the lore and history of SU is so rich, deep and important to the story, characters, and themes of the show that we should really strive to not forget it. It's not a horrible sin, everyone does it from time to time, and it's not anyone's personal fault, it's CN's scheduling's fault. For a lack of better words, #StayWoke
Awkole EC first thing that came to mind was rose. She shattered a diamond and many other gems and use to be a different person then what we see and how Greg and the other gems describe her to be. The show revolves around change and every character may get another chance at being "good". Including the diamonds..

Steven Universe doesn't have villains. It may have antagonists, but the show and its characters are far more complex to be labelled as the black and white hero and villain.

Affably Evil is when a villain is polite, friendly and genuinely kind, even while plotting evil. Good Is Not Nice is the inverse of that: characters who are morally slanted toward the good side but are rude, unfriendly, and mean. They never kill anyone if they can help it, nor would they allow people to come to any sort of harm by ignoring them. They always willing to go out of their ways to save the town and complete strangers. When the call comes, they will answer it, usually with little protest. They often help people in need with little promise of reward. In almost every way, they act like ideal heroes. Except that they are asocial and sometimes downright abusive toward most people they meet. They may refuse to explain anything. They may also actively rebuke people who express gratitude, friendship, love, and/or offers of support when they are faced with problems. There are a few reasons these people may act like this: They may want to be selfish and arrogant or just unbiased to either side, but their morality keeps on getting in the way, even if it is to their detriment. When done poorly, you can end up with serious Moral Dissonance, a Designated Hero and/or even an Unintentionally Unsympathetic character. Compare Noble Demon, who will likely fall into this if not too morally ambiguous. Often a Knight in Sour Armor, Mr. Vice Guy, Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Jerkass Woobie, or sometimes just a Jerkass who does good things. The term Anti-Hero is sometimes used to cover this trope. Sister trope to Creepy Good. Naive newcomers may be surprised to learn they are not the idealized hero everyone thinks they is. This type of characters will turn out to be heroes with bad publicity. has ANYONE noticed that each and EVERY diamond represents an element!? White=air, the highest and most mysterious of all elements. typically sharp and precious and fast to the point. Blue=water, flexible and smooth and soft but also rough and furios. typically the people with this element are often sad and prone to breaking down, they're very smart and love to collect things, they try their hardest not show their emotions. Yellow=earth-uh..-terrain, often know for being tactical and strategic. they great for generals and often see anyone dumber than them as inferior and weak, they like to plan ahead and know exactly what will happen next. Pink=fire, known for fast and deadly destroying everything in it's path often associated with evil but can be a powerful force for revival. fire is the most emotional of all the elements and is often hungry for power but not always, very hot temper and quick to anger people with fire have a hard time not lashing out. when a fire dies down it can be great for cultivating new life but could also decimate an area.

Yeah, I understand that lack of hype. I wanted to watch the bowl today, but I'm way more excited about the new "season", for lack of a better word lol, of Steven Universe. I think the diamonds have a sister like relationship and pink diamond was the younger sister maybe even a newer gem. We don't know anything about white diamond... but I bet she will be the oldest/first and will act like a strict mother to the others. I also wonder how diamonds are made in this universe and can there be more..
As someone who has depression, and family and friend who also suffer from the condition, the fact that you told us to get help simply at the mention of the disorder makes me happy. I also want to say that your channel makes me happy. You try so hard to make these videos,but dont push yourself too far, and still enjoy doing this, and seeing youtubers that try their best without trying too hard makes me feel happy. I think she was using "blue" as her name. I mean, I think Yellow Diamond was trying to get Blue Diamond to stop feeling. For example, to stop feeling sadness, anger, happiness... ( etc.) It just seems so deep. Yellow Diamond just wants to fight, to take her roll of a leader. But, not care of *anything* she doesn't want to feel anything. ... To prove Yellow Diamond is talking about not feeling at all, in the song she says, " What's the use of feeling?" ( This time she didn't say, " What's the use of feeling, Blue?")

It’s interesting that all evidence pointed towards The Answer being after Pink Diamond’s shattering, but the reality being that it was definitely before it, since we see in that 2 second silhouetted flashback from Garnet in Gemcation that Garnet has fought on the side of the CGs while Pink Diamond was still alive.
I saw myself in Blue and Yellow alot. I lost someone very dear to me and because of that I grew spiteful of everything around me. I didn't see what trouble I was causing, because I only saw and felt my own pain That justified my actions - from my point of view. I was kind of acting like Yellow and Blue at the same time.
You raise some good points. Just don't forget that Blue Diamond (and all the Diamonds for that matter) are not exclusively ruthless, evil villains. (I don't think that you think this. I'm just pointing this out because it seemed to be forgotten in the video.) I wouldn't even go as far as to call them evil, since they believe that what they're doing is right. They're "human" too and although they've committed sins that can't be justified, that doesn't mean they're not "people" too. That's why Blue Diamond has a lot of sympathizers right now. The Crewniverse has recently shown us that the villains do feel the same things we and our heroes feel, showing that we're not so different from one another. However, I think we'll soon be shown the more ruthless side of Blue Diamond and be reminded of how she is still siding with a lot of evil practices, despite her seeing things differently. Therefore, we'll be shown that our antagonists aren't really evil but still side with evil, meaning that we must oppose them. We hope that they'll see the light and change their ways, but if they don't then we'll be forced to fight against them.

It would be very hard for anybody to get over a loved one's murder. In Blue's eyes Rose murdered Pink Diamond and in her eyes got away with it. No wonder why Yellow is angry and Blue is depressed.
My dad suffers from depression. He seeked help, and he felt better. But, then he thought he didn't need it anymore. His sickness only got worse. It may be because of his childhood, or because he was born with it. He has a bad past. Before he met my mother, he left his former wife (Who was pregnant at the time.) Then, he met my mom. Now, after having six kids.. He called my mom fat, and ugly. (Which is ABSOLUTELY untrue!!) My mother is a beautiful person with a big heart. She does everything in her power to make us happy. They're getting a divorce soon, but I cannot dwell on the past. Although, he's been with me my whole life, but I can't forgive him, no one gets away with insulting my mother. I hope that you find happiness. Keep looking forward, and don't give up! Thank you for taking your precious time to read this.

I honestly feel so so so sorry for Blue Diamond. I wish that she could be redeemed...I also find her a relatable character as I am progressing through the 5 stages of grief as well. I feel sorry for Homeworld in general. Even though they are evil.....I forgive them.
Yeah, I can definitely agree that Blue Diamond is one terrifying villain. In two situations she could have either seen the Crystal Gems and do everything in her power to shatter them or outright KILLED Greg if she found out the person he was talking about missing was Rose and that he was special to her like the Crystal Gems are. She's definitely willing to turn all her sorrow into pure anger and destruction at any time and the gems are more than loosing their cover and secrecy at this point with everything that's happened, from Jasper's long disappearance and the Ruby's being AWOL in space - both of which are apparently yet to raise red flags to the Diamonds.
I still think Blue Diamond is a nice character. I bet she'll be reformed soon. She and the other diamonds are like sisters in my eyes. So, to lose someone you love so dearly triggered her into this state. I actually think Yellow Diamond told her they were to destroy the Earth because of Rose Quartz so she could only think of Destroying the Earth because of Rose. Blue Diamond probably thought that if she took control of Earth, she would have something to remind her of Pink Diamond. Yellow Diamond actually doesn't show much remorse for Pink Diamond. She probably never really was attached to Pink as much as Blue was. Besides, if you think about it, what she's doing is kind of a sweet way to remember Pink. Even if she's kidnapping humans for the Zoo. I hope she'll soon be on the side of the Crystal Gems. I hope so...
Poor Blue, she is in a state of depression where it is hard it deal with life. She can not live without Pink, Pink was like a daughter and she lost her it was like she lost her child. Now the memory of Pink Diamond is what is keeping Blue's grief at bay(most of the time). I wonder, if all memories of Pink vanished (ex: her gems, colonies, everything she had)would Blue become more depressed or would it escalate to something worse like suicide?
I've had a thought. Perhaps grief and sadness is literally a part of blues nature. As we think being care free is a part of pinks nature, maybe part of the grief is because pink gave blue a break from her own toxic nature that hurt herself as much as anyone else.
I'm just going to say it right now, I think Yellow Diamond is using Blue's mourning to keep herself in the highest point of power in the Diamond authority. Hear me out, there are reasons I think this and it's not just because I really hate Yellow Diamond. When I was looking over the episode "that will be all" I noticed something that didn't quite fit with the character of Yellow Diamond that I (personally) know from the show. She clearly states her disgust at the bubbled rose quartz gems, wanting them to be shattered rather than being safe in bubbles. Now, my perspective of yellow diamond from when we first saw her was she is cold, heartless and cares only about showing her power and making sure the lesser gems know she has control over them, in my opinion she would more than likely do this by shattering a gem that had belittled her, thus cementing Peridot's fear from "hit the diamond". What I did not see her as, is a being with feelings. Granted she DOES have them, and we know this to be fact, because she does miss pink diamond. However, when we see her here she shows her disgust but...doesn't really do much other than move the bubbled gems around a bit. Rather than showing blue diamond what needs to be done she simply...moved the bubbles around. I found this to be quite interesting, since this wasn't a trait I'd seen in this character. That got me thinking...her song...what if rather than asking Blue about the use of feeling sad...what if she was asking about the use in feeling mercy? Blue Diamond, even though she threatened to shatter Ruby, she still doesn't want to shatter the rose quartz gems even though they were basically the ones who destroyed her sister diamond. Yellow KNOWS this. She KNOWS how Blue feels and she KNOWS that she wants to protect Pink diamonds memory. I believe she is using this to keep Blue in a state of grieving by constantly pushing her to her limit of sorrow, thus keeping Blue diamond in a state of depression, so that she herself can remain in power over most of homeworld, her part as well as Blue diamonds'. Not the best theory out there and probably not the best thought out, but that's the vibe I get from Yellow diamond.
This is a really well put together theory and I like it a lot! It would make sense and explain Blue Diamond's behavior, except it contradicts what we already know about the timeline of the war. Pink Diamond couldn't have been shattered before The Answer because that's only the beginning of the war. We can tell because Rose and Pearl are the only members of the Crystal Gems, so the rebellion hasn't even actually started yet. Pink had to have been shattered sometime near the halfway point of the war. We know the Beta Kindergarten was issued halfway as a last attempt to get more soldiers (as Peridot mentioned in Beta/Earthlings) and we know that Jasper came from the Beta Kindergarten. In order for her to consider Pink Diamond as her own diamond, Pink would've had to have been there to issue that kindergarten and most likely would have to be there after the gems (or at least Jasper) already emerged - long enough for Jasper to know about Pink Diamond. This theory is still a good explanation, but maybe just not a canon one
As far as the Five Stages of Grief go, I think that Blue represents denial and depression, and Yellow represents anger. When White discovers Steven, she might think that he can bring Pink back (hence she is bargaining with him), but when he says that there's nothing he can do White accepts the fact that Pink is not coming back.

I don't think that the events in the Answer occur after Pink Diamond's death. It seemed to be in the early stages of the rebellion. For one, Eyeball remembers specifically Rose's sword, which is absent in the episode. I don't think her sword was made by then, because Bismuth hadn't been a part of the rebellion yet. I also think at this point gems didn't realize their power to summon weapons yet, since no gems in the episode use weapons, besides Pearl who wielded two swords, not her signature spear. I think Blue Diamond was on Earth overseeing construction of gem buildings, since most of the gem buildings we've seen are blue.
I think depression is the best and the worst state one can be in at the same time it can boost creativity, allow you to have a open mind, to change direction, but at the same time you can be incredibly reckless and get mad quickly. You don't care at all about any of the consequences, all you want is to achieve your goal, and if it kills you that might even be a bonus, it doesn't matter what happens to the world around you, being in a clinical depression can make you incredibly powerful...and irrational so yeah...out of all the diamonds, blue diamond currently is the one I'd be scared of, yes, even today
Unrelated but.. I just thought of this.. In the episode "The Trial" They said that Pink Diamond stepped out of her palanquin. But there is no proof of that. It could be that Pink Diamond was in her Palanquin with her pink pearl. No one could see through the palanquin. But they could see their shadows! So if Pink pearl was with Pink Diamond, Pink Pearl could have shattered Pink Diamond instead of Rose. Rose was probably trying to save Pink Diamond from the pearl. But from outside the palanquin, It looks like Rose shattered Pink Diamond instead of her actually shattering pink pearl.
what I never got was Sapphire was never going to be killed. Sapphire said that after Pearl attacked and poof her Rose and Pearl would be captured. Poofed not shattered not broken Poofed. Nothing would have happen to her.

I want Blue Diamond to eventually find closure as well, mostly because In my perspective, that's what the entire general message of Steven Universe is! To love and never stop loving! This show has stressed and shown in beautiful ways how important love was, is, and will be. I feel like the overall statement of Steven Universe is "Love beyond doubt" because not only was the original credit theme a song about learning to love, but the messages we get from most of the episodes can be traced back to love as an emotion or even love as a shield to protect those you love. Whether it's emotionally or physically, it doesn't matter. ^3^

Let's utterly destroy said planet, because f**k reason". I think that sending Blue's diplomatic force to Earth was a last ditch effort to solve the war, and I also think that the Corruption came AFTER the events of "The Answer". If the events of "the Answer" come after Pink Diamond's shattering, wouldn't the war be already over? We know that Rose protected Pearl AND Garnet from corruption, so maybe Earth was first Blue Diamond's colony, but then they gave it to Pink Diamond.

I know this is off topic from the main part of the video, but you mentioned it in the intro and I wanted to bring it up. You mentioned how part of the fan base really likes Blue Diamond despite her despicable atrocities she's committed on Gem and human-kind. It has occured to me in my few years of being in the SU fandom that- most likely due to the show being less consistent with its schedule- the fandom sees most things through a lens of recency. This is not necessarily a bad thing, so let me explain.
Let's take the Blue Diamond example: in this Steven Bomb, we didn't see much off the ruthless, strict leader she is. We saw a gem who was hurt and in mourning. The Crewniverse wrote her to be sympathized with and, for the most part, it worked. This is why I think her fans really like her right now: they aren't looking at the whole picture.
Another example could be people trying to defend their certain characters by saying they've done nothing wrong. People forget about all of the bad things that happened in the past not because they don't want to remember these flaws in their favorite characters, but because they happened so long ago, if not in canon time than in real time. Pearl, Amethyst, Peridot, Lapis, Jasper, all great characters who have all done varying levels of horrible stuff, but the fans forgive them for it. It's not that they've done nothing wrong, but they've grown and developed past that.
The main point of this comment was basically to address this issue, because the lore and history of SU is so rich, deep and important to the story, characters, and themes of the show that we should really strive to not forget it. It's not a horrible sin, everyone does it from time to time, and it's not anyone's personal fault, it's CN's scheduling's fault. For a lack of better words, #StayWoke
Awkole EC first thing that came to mind was rose. She shattered a diamond and many other gems and use to be a different person then what we see and how Greg and the other gems describe her to be. The show revolves around change and every character may get another chance at being "good". Including the diamonds..

The Diamonds might have made a lot of bad choices ruling; forcing a soldier to go rogue is anything but smart. I wish characters like them still stayed more their background looks way more fun than Lapis or Peridot´s
Steven Universe doesn't have villains. It may have antagonists, but the show and its characters are far more complex to be labelled as the black and white hero and villain.

Good Is Not Nice
Affably Evil is when a villain is polite, friendly and genuinely kind, even while plotting evil. Good Is Not Nice is the inverse of that: characters who are morally slanted toward the good side but are rude, unfriendly, and mean.
They never kill anyone if they can help it, nor would they allow people to come to any sort of harm by ignoring them. They always willing to go out of their ways to save the town and complete strangers. When the call comes, they will answer it, usually with little protest. They often help people in need with little promise of reward. In almost every way, they act like ideal heroes.
Except that they are asocial and sometimes downright abusive toward most people they meet. They may refuse to explain anything. They may also actively rebuke people who express gratitude, friendship, love, and/or offers of support when they are faced with problems.
There are a few reasons these people may act like this:
They may want to be selfish and arrogant or just unbiased to either side, but their morality keeps on getting in the way, even if it is to their detriment. They may put on a Jerkass Façade to try to counter it.
They do consider themselves as better than everyone else, and their attitudes range from Smug Super to Arrogant Prick. After all, it is difficult for them to be nice to people when they do not even respect them. However, they still feel compelled to help these lower creatures on a regular basis.
They are natural loners. Their senses of duty force them to perform heroic acts, but they do not consider chitchat or politeness to be parts of their obligations.
They may want to be nice people, but they believe that being nice does not always get things done, and that accomplishing good requires them to do harsh and cruel acts, particularly if they have to teach something. (This may be an intermittent effect, applied only when necessary; contrast Beware the Nice Ones, where such outbursts result from break-down. On the other hand, emotional trauma can coincide with the realization that nicety won't cut it.)
They cannot afford to let others get close to them because their enemies will use others against them.
They might wish to be nice but live so far outside normal human experience that they have no idea how to go about it; similarly, the hero might be autistic, or a non-human alien.
The world the heroes live in is operated through cynical ends, so Strict Good Guyism does not work - either in the eyes of the author or in a literal in-universe sense.
They intimidate enemies through harsh demeanors.
Here are related tropes which are demonstrations as to how good characters are not as nice as they appear to be:
Anti-Hero
Break His Heart to Save Him: A hero acts like a jerk to someone they love (usually their love interest) so they'll leave them and stay out of danger.
Brutal Honesty: The truth isn't comfortable to hear.
Captain Smooth and Sergeant Rough (Sergeant Rough)
Compassionate Critic: Being critical of others because you want them to succeed.
Cruel Mercy: When sparing someone's life isn't really nice at all.
Cruel to Be Kind: A horrible action is really a kind act.

Omniscient Morality License: Someone does whatever they want with the heroes, but is still considered good because they know it will turn out alright.
Pay Evil unto Evil: What isn't nice about the hero is their tendency to repay villains with evil acts.
Percussive Prevention: Physically attacking someone to get them to safety.
Polite Villains, Rude Heroes: Heroes are mean while villains are nice.
Politically Incorrect Hero: The good guy who holds racist, sexist, or controversial beliefs.
Pragmatic Hero
Red Eyes, Take Warning (if they are the good guys)
Reformed, but Not Tamed: A character changes to the alignment of good, but not their bad attitude or behavior.
Rude Hero, Nice Sidekick: The hero is horribly rude, but his sidekick isn't.
Rightly Self-Righteous: Being good doesn't stop the character from expressing how morally superior they are compared to others.
Sergeant Rock
Shoot the Dog: Where a hero does a "not nice" deed because it needs to be done.
Sink-or-Swim Mentor: When mentors don't go easy on newcomers.
Smiting Evil Feels Good: It isn't nice to feel satisfied of punishing evil.

Terror Hero: The hero who seeks to strike fear in evildoers.
To Be Lawful or Good: The hero chooses the former option if the are more concerned about upholding principles than being compassionate.
Tough Love: Treating other characters harshly as means to better them.
Trickster Mentor
Was Too Hard on Him: The character who deal with others harshly may feel bad about doing so.
What the Hell, Hero? (People call The Hero out and blame them for their actions)
Well-Intentioned Extremist: When you put more emphasis on the "well-intentioned" part than the "extremist" one.
Note that when handled well, this can create an interesting, complex character. When done poorly, you can end up with serious Moral Dissonance, a Designated Hero and/or even an Unintentionally Unsympathetic character.
Compare Noble Demon, who will likely fall into this if not too morally ambiguous. Often a Knight in Sour Armor, Mr. Vice Guy, Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Jerkass Woobie, or sometimes just a Jerkass who does good things. The term Anti-Hero is sometimes used to cover this trope. Sister trope to Creepy Good. Naive newcomers may be surprised to learn they are not the idealized hero everyone thinks they is. This type of characters will turn out to be heroes with bad publicity.
Why Light powers can be the Holy Hand Grenade even when Light is Good.
Contrast Affably Evil and Good Is Not Dumb. If a character acts like this exclusively towards their enemies, you've got a case of Good Is Not Soft.
Lawful Good versions of this trope may be strict, humorless and serious. In other cases, they will put much emphasis on "Lawful" more than "Good". Very common personality flaw for The Paladin.

White=air, the highest and most mysterious of all elements. typically sharp and precious and fast to the point.
Blue=water, flexible and smooth and soft but also rough and furios. typically the people with this element are often sad and prone to breaking down, they're very smart and love to collect things, they try their hardest not show their emotions.
Yellow=earth-uh..-terrain, often know for being tactical and strategic. they great for generals and often see anyone dumber than them as inferior and weak, they like to plan ahead and know exactly what will happen next.
Pink=fire, known for fast and deadly destroying everything in it's path often associated with evil but can be a powerful force for revival. fire is the most emotional of all the elements and is often hungry for power but not always, very hot temper and quick to anger people with fire have a hard time not lashing out. when a fire dies down it can be great for cultivating new life but could also decimate an area.

As someone who has depression, and family and friend who also suffer from the condition, the fact that you told us to get help simply at the mention of the disorder makes me happy. I think she was using "blue" as her name. I mean, I think Yellow Diamond was trying to get Blue Diamond to stop feeling. For example, to stop feeling sadness, anger, happiness... ( etc.) It just seems so deep. Yellow Diamond just wants to fight, to take her roll of a leader. But, not care of *anything* she doesn't want to feel anything. ... It’s interesting that all evidence pointed towards The Answer being after Pink Diamond’s shattering, but the reality being that it was definitely before it, since we see in that 2 second silhouetted flashback from Garnet in Gemcation that Garnet has fought on the side of the CGs while Pink Diamond was still alive.

I lost someone very dear to me and because of that I grew spiteful of everything around me. I didn't see what trouble I was causing, because I only saw and felt my own pain That justified my actions - from my point of view. I was kind of acting like Yellow and Blue at the same time.

You raise some good points. Just don't forget that Blue Diamond (and all the Diamonds for that matter) are not exclusively ruthless, evil villains. (I don't think that you think this. I'm just pointing this out because it seemed to be forgotten in the video.) I wouldn't even go as far as to call them evil, since they believe that what they're doing is right. They're "human" too and although they've committed sins that can't be justified, that doesn't mean they're not "people" too. That's why Blue Diamond has a lot of sympathizers right now. The Crewniverse has recently shown us that the villains do feel the same things we and our heroes feel, showing that we're not so different from one another. However, I think we'll soon be shown the more ruthless side of Blue Diamond and be reminded of how she is still siding with a lot of evil practices, despite her seeing things differently. Therefore, we'll be shown that our antagonists aren't really evil but still side with evil, meaning that we must oppose them. We hope that they'll see the light and change their ways, but if they don't then we'll be forced to fight against them.

My dad suffers from depression. He seeked help, and he felt better. But, then he thought he didn't need it anymore. His sickness only got worse. It may be because of his childhood, or because he was born with it. He has a bad past. Before he met my mother, he left his former wife (Who was pregnant at the time.) Then, he met my mom. Now, after having six kids.. He called my mom fat, and ugly. (Which is ABSOLUTELY untrue!!) My mother is a beautiful person with a big heart. She does everything in her power to make us happy. They're getting a divorce soon, but I cannot dwell on the past. Although, he's been with me my whole life, but I can't forgive him, no one gets away with insulting my mother. I hope that you find happiness. Keep looking forward, and don't give up! Thank you for taking your precious time to read this.

Yeah, I can definitely agree that Blue Diamond is one terrifying villain. In two situations she could have either seen the Crystal Gems and do everything in her power to shatter them or outright KILLED Greg if she found out the person he was talking about missing was Rose and that he was special to her like the Crystal Gems are. She's definitely willing to turn all her sorrow into pure anger and destruction at any time and the gems are more than loosing their cover and secrecy at this point with everything that's happened, from Jasper's long disappearance and the Ruby's being AWOL in space - both of which are apparently yet to raise red flags to the Diamonds.

I still think Blue Diamond is a nice character. I bet she'll be reformed soon. She and the other diamonds are like sisters in my eyes. So, to lose someone you love so dearly triggered her into this state. I actually think Yellow Diamond told her they were to destroy the Earth because of Rose Quartz so she could only think of Destroying the Earth because of Rose. Blue Diamond probably thought that if she took control of Earth, she would have something to remind her of Pink Diamond. Yellow Diamond actually doesn't show much remorse for Pink Diamond. She probably never really was attached to Pink as much as Blue was. Besides, if you think about it, what she's doing is kind of a sweet way to remember Pink. Even if she's kidnapping humans for the Zoo. I hope she'll soon be on the side of the Crystal Gems. I hope so...

Poor Blue, she is in a state of depression where it is hard it deal with life. She can not live without Pink, Pink was like a daughter and she lost her it was like she lost her child. Now the memory of Pink Diamond is what is keeping Blue's grief at bay(most of the time). I wonder, if all memories of Pink vanished (ex: her gems, colonies, everything she had)would Blue become more depressed or would it escalate to something worse like suicide?

I've had a thought. Perhaps grief and sadness is literally a part of blues nature. As we think being care free is a part of pinks nature, maybe part of the grief is because pink gave blue a break from her own toxic nature that hurt herself as much as anyone else.
I'm just going to say it right now, I think Yellow Diamond is using Blue's mourning to keep herself in the highest point of power in the Diamond authority. Hear me out, there are reasons I think this and it's not just because I really hate Yellow Diamond. When I was looking over the episode "that will be all" I noticed something that didn't quite fit with the character of Yellow Diamond that I (personally) know from the show. She clearly states her disgust at the bubbled rose quartz gems, wanting them to be shattered rather than being safe in bubbles. Now, my perspective of yellow diamond from when we first saw her was she is cold, heartless and cares only about showing her power and making sure the lesser gems know she has control over them, in my opinion she would more than likely do this by shattering a gem that had belittled her, thus cementing Peridot's fear from "hit the diamond".
What I did not see her as, is a being with feelings. Granted she DOES have them, and we know this to be fact, because she does miss pink diamond. However, when we see her here she shows her disgust but...doesn't really do much other than move the bubbled gems around a bit. Rather than showing blue diamond what needs to be done she simply...moved the bubbles around. I found this to be quite interesting, since this wasn't a trait I'd seen in this character.
That got me thinking...her song...what if rather than asking Blue about the use of feeling sad...what if she was asking about the use in feeling mercy? Blue Diamond, even though she threatened to shatter Ruby, she still doesn't want to shatter the rose quartz gems even though they were basically the ones who destroyed her sister diamond. Yellow KNOWS this. She KNOWS how Blue feels and she KNOWS that she wants to protect Pink diamonds memory. I believe she is using this to keep Blue in a state of grieving by constantly pushing her to her limit of sorrow, thus keeping Blue diamond in a state of depression, so that she herself can remain in power over most of homeworld, her part as well as Blue diamonds'.
Not the best theory out there and probably not the best thought out, but that's the vibe I get from Yellow diamond.

Blue Diamond....a villain you love to hate but at the same time, feel sorry for.
This is a really well put together theory and I like it a lot! It would make sense and explain Blue Diamond's behavior, except it contradicts what we already know about the timeline of the war. Pink Diamond couldn't have been shattered before The Answer because that's only the beginning of the war. We can tell because Rose and Pearl are the only members of the Crystal Gems, so the rebellion hasn't even actually started yet. Pink had to have been shattered sometime near the halfway point of the war. We know the Beta Kindergarten was issued halfway as a last attempt to get more soldiers (as Peridot mentioned in Beta/Earthlings) and we know that Jasper came from the Beta Kindergarten. In order for her to consider Pink Diamond as her own diamond, Pink would've had to have been there to issue that kindergarten and most likely would have to be there after the gems (or at least Jasper) already emerged - long enough for Jasper to know about Pink Diamond. This theory is still a good explanation, but maybe just not a canon one

As far as the Five Stages of Grief go, I think that Blue represents denial and depression, and Yellow represents anger. When White discovers Steven, she might think that he can bring Pink back (hence she is bargaining with him), but when he says that there's nothing he can do White accepts the fact that Pink is not coming back.

I don't think that the events in the Answer occur after Pink Diamond's death. It seemed to be in the early stages of the rebellion. For one, Eyeball remembers specifically Rose's sword, which is absent in the episode. I don't think her sword was made by then, because Bismuth hadn't been a part of the rebellion yet. I also think at this point gems didn't realize their power to summon weapons yet, since no gems in the episode use weapons, besides Pearl who wielded two swords, not her signature spear.
I think Blue Diamond was on Earth overseeing construction of gem buildings, since most of the gem buildings we've seen are blue.

I think depression is the best and the worst state one can be in at the same time
it can boost creativity, allow you to have a open mind, to change direction, but at the same time you can be incredibly reckless and get mad quickly.
You don't care at all about any of the consequences, all you want is to achieve your goal, and if it kills you that might even be a bonus, it doesn't matter what happens to the world around you, being in a clinical depression can make you incredibly powerful...and irrational
so yeah...out of all the diamonds, blue diamond currently is the one I'd be scared of, yes, even today

I just thought of this..
In the episode "The Trial" They said that Pink Diamond stepped out of her palanquin.
But there is no proof of that. It could be that Pink Diamond was in her Palanquin with her pink pearl.
No one could see through the palanquin. But they could see their shadows!
So if Pink pearl was with Pink Diamond, Pink Pearl could have shattered Pink Diamond instead of Rose.
Rose was probably trying to save Pink Diamond from the pearl. But from outside the palanquin, It looks like Rose shattered Pink Diamond instead of her actually shattering pink pearl.
what I never got was Sapphire was never going to be killed. Sapphire said that after Pearl attacked and poof her Rose and Pearl would be captured. Poofed not shattered not broken Poofed. Nothing would have happen to her.

I want Blue Diamond to eventually find closure as well, mostly because In my perspective, that's what the entire general message of Steven Universe is! To love and never stop loving! This show has stressed and shown in beautiful ways how important love was, is, and will be. I feel like the overall statement of Steven Universe is "Love beyond doubt" because not only was the original credit theme a song about learning to love, but the messages we get from most of the episodes can be traced back to love as an emotion or even love as a shield to protect those you love. Whether it's emotionally or physically, it doesn't matter. ^3^

Hey, remember the cookie cat episode? Yeah.. those were good times..... now we're in this deep pit with our laptops crowded with blankets and tissues crying our eyes out for pink and blue diamond at 3 am.... oh wait, that was just me?
If Blue Diamond is stuck in Stage 4: Depression, then I think Yellow is stuck in Stage 2: Anger, because she's basically like: "Pink Diamond killed on this planet? Let's utterly destroy said planet, because f**k reason". I think that sending Blue's diplomatic force to Earth was a last ditch effort to solve the war, and I also think that the Corruption came AFTER the events of "The Answer". I'll put it in a timeline:
Beginning of Rebellion - Sometime during the war, Pink Diamond is shattered - Constant slaughter ensues - Last ditch diplomatic effort by Blue Diamond - After diplomatic effort fails, war continues for a little while - Homeworld evacuates their gems on Earth - The Diamonds drop *tha bomb!* - Years pass - Events in the show occur

I can relate to both Yellow and Blue Diamond tbh. Been depressed for 10 years now.
If the events of "the Answer" come after Pink Diamond's shattering, wouldn't the war be already over? We know that Rose protected Pearl AND Garnet from corruption, so maybe Earth was first Blue Diamond's colony, but then they gave it to Pink Diamond.
To comment on her kidnapping Greg: she did it with the best of intentions. She wanted to save him from the Cluster. I can give an exception to this.
