This was a godsend. This video really helped guide me through this. No joke, I was super nervous about doing this. I had never removed the intake manifold and it wasn't easy either. Those clips are super tough to access and loosen. But I did it and just test drove the car. I did almost have a heart attach when I started the car - I got a bunch of 4x4! torque; limp mode; chassis stabilization errors. But I think those were just part of the system restarting after having had the battery disconnected. They went away and I also no longer have the yellow check engine light. It was tormenting me. Thanks again!!!

My X5D starts to show glow plugs sign each time I start the car. She’s at 112k miles and it’s about time for me to replace them and others on the way....Thank you so much for uploading this video!

The most difficult part is the electrical connector at the back of the air inlet manifold. None of the videos really show how to get this off - the tab is facing inward, with very little room to manipulate it. Mine is stuck and I can't remove the inlet manifold without getting past this connector. Lifting the loosened manifold up doesn't give mine better access to the connector. Not sure what to do next.

Thanks for your nice video. I am about to do the same for my BMW. Although the glow plugs were changed by mechanic 2 years ago but they still throw the code. I just was wondering whether you used BMW genuine gaskets or aftermarket? I also would like to ask whether faulty glow plug affects DPF regeneration. Thanks.
