I bought that little esr meter, and so far, it's been serving me well for hobbyist. I'm very satisfied with it.

I have the Peak Atlas DCA75 Pro and is the best of all kind of meters.
    Best Regards.

I have the MK-168 version of this, I believe I bought it for $48 a couple years ago. All these little testers have come way down in price recently though. It doesn't have all the features or the accuracy of my DE 5000, but still awesome nonetheless. It's also about on par with my home built ESR meter.

I have the same, bought on Banggood, also and ESR meter. Nice meters for a hobbyist.

I have one of the Chinese ones and it will tell you just about everything. It will even tell me which pins are base, emitter and collector. It shows mosfet as well. The only thing they will not check are linear regulators. For some reason they just can't id them. They do make an IC tester as well and I plan on getting one of those to test opp amps.

    Cool,
I thought about getting the atlas but left it on my wish list and bought another.

I did a comparison video of the peak, mk328, der de5000, bob Parker esr, and another meter which I forget the name of right now, the mk328 was ok, but no good for large caps as it has a fixed test frequency.

Looks very much like a cased version of the meter Dave Jones reviewed on the EEVBlog! I got one of those PCBs too and it looks the same minus the case! Cost me $10 uncased.

I have the Peak ESR70 and Peak ATLAS - LCR45, i have had both for just over 2 years now and they both playing up. Both giving false readings nearly all the time. Time to give the mk 328 a try.

good after noon Sir I have LCR MK-328 , what I did was make the prove wires shorter or use the base on the meter it givesw a better reading

  • @jjarratt

I am wondering if the testers are charging up the capacitors a bit and putting results off a bit for subsequent tests with other testers.

Also heat from fingers can skew the results a bit as electrolytics are very temperature sensitive.

Believe it or not I bought the MK-328 from Amazon for only 8 bucks. All you have to do is go through their listing for like forever to find it that cheap. Circuit and firmware running in all these cheap, also DIY, ESR testers with that dispplay originally comes from some young German guy's student project. Later he made it open source, Chinese found it and rest is history.

I think that is one of the many versions of the AVR transistor tester. There are cheaper ones.
    www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/AVR_Transistortester
    KainkaLabs did extensive testing.

Here is a rather large forum discussions on this meter. It shows it development over time. Someone in China saw its potential and cloned it. Then they cloned it and so forth.

Dislike, you also have to learn how to focus objects in front of camera.
