    Hey just wanted to thank you for having posted this. I have big hands and a big head and I couldn't figure out how in the hell to get that lamp out. I frigged around with it for more than a half hour before resorting to seeking some advice here. Once I saw how you did it, I was done in about 10 minutes. Thank you, sir!

    That's pretty easy on left head light. Right head light is nightmare to access cause of not possibility to remove hydrofluid tanks...

    It was still pretty challenging, but without this video I definitely couldn't have done it all. So many many thanks for uploading. Just one point not mentioned, which is when you remove and replace the battery the engine immobilizer is activated. This is cleared by holding the lock button on the key fob when in the ignition. (Thanks to Stewart from Eurocarcare, Derby for that snippet)

    I did this yesterday on my c4. That wire clip fell off and down into the headlight housing. Eventually I got it out again and somehow managed to put it back in place so I could change the bulb. But I was astounded by how many bad words I know LOL

      today I dropped the bulb in the housing. tried to get it out for 2mins and gave up. that space in the left side is so small. At least in punto you don't have to try to put the bulb so damn deep.

    would it be possible to put aftermarket LED bulbs that have a heatsink on their back side? I'm thinking if I entirely remove the springy thing, put the bulb and then place back the spring around it maybe? Would definetely have to remove the whole headlight to do this.

    • @DrivewayDudes
      @DrivewayDudes  Před 6 lety

      Hi Rosian,
      If you're going to make any adjustments or modifications please make sure you can put it back to original if needed.
      Having a heatsink on LED's is possibly an indication that they are going to get very hot in which case be aware that excessive heat may cause damage or distortion to the headlight unit and/or melt the wiring.
      Paul

    • @rosi57575
      @rosi57575 Před 6 lety

      Driveway Dudes the way im guessing it is not going to change the stock headlight. Im not sure how hot it could get but in most led bulbs there's a little fan inside the heatsink and also a little module box to control the voltage so the H7 socket on the car is not connected directly to the bulb but to a wire which leads me to thinking that it wont be damaged if the bulb gets too hot.

    • @DrivewayDudes
      @DrivewayDudes  Před 6 lety

      If the bulbs come from a reputable source that claim they are safe to use in your model then ultimately it would be your decision.
      We have carried out LED upgrades on other cars but we first made sure they were designed specifically for that model.

    No matter how we tried we could not get the bulb to sit on the hole correctly even though it was the right bulb, the right way up. It just kept wobbling out of place whenever pressure was put on it. Any ideas very greatfully received please?

    • @DrivewayDudes
      @DrivewayDudes  Před 5 lety

      Please check to make sure there is no obstruction that may cause this.
      Have you the original bulb? If so, refit it and see if it sits flush and if it does then the replacement may be out of shape

      @@DrivewayDudes Hi thanks for the quick reply. In the end I can't believe I did but I resorted to popping in to see my local garage with my head held in shame at being unable to change a bulb. The previous owner had lost both bulb clips and the bulb doesn't sit snugly without it. so I has trouble making my own as I couldn't get even pressure without it moving. Lucky the garage had a couple of spare clips and put them in. The car does not take standard H7 clips so the ones in the car part shops were no good and Citroën don't do spares either so I was lucky my mechanic has some. Thanks again for the reply.

What were citroen thinking when they designed the c5, that everyone will not mind taking their car to the garage to change the headlight bulbs 🙄

    Manual says it must be UV-protected bulbs or the headlight reflector may be damaged.
    Most of todays headlamps sold probably are..

    • @DrivewayDudes
      @DrivewayDudes  Před 7 lety

      Hi Stig R. Yes you did the right thing checking your manual first.
      We demonstrated for guide purposes, a removal and fitment. We used the recommended bulb for the car. If you were to fit the wrong type of bulb, you may very well cause some damage to the reflector, the headlight lense or even the wiring.
