If he was that bad as you claim, then why are Kentucky players following him to Arkansas putting there NBA futures at stake to play for this guy? They could get better money somewhere else, it's sounds to me that they like to play for Coach Cal! Go argue with the NBA analyst that absolutely tore the game film to shreds showing how there was absolutely no way that team had rehearsed any defense at all. No one was ready for anything or knew where to be, and dillingham even said they were confused as to what their defensive assignment was.
Oakland's oldest player was 24 and their average age was 22. UK had two 23 year olds and their average age was 21. Cal keeps saying the average age of UK was 19.7 and they only had two players under the age of 19. Two of their seven freshman were 20 year olds. The reason UK lost that game was they had no idea how to stop a former DII guy from getting the ball.
Cal is right.. the problem is that Kentucky is not your typical transfer portal team. Decent but Arkansas is one of the top teams in the portal and is not to be nothing like Kentucky

Alot of coaches have better success at other schools, who knows he might do better at a Arkansas school that has a insane atmosphere, fanbase , and recruits very well

The only reason he only has 3 freshman this year is because Quaintance didnt want to follow him to Arkansas and Uconn beat him out for McNeely. This upcoming season will be Cal's best at Arkansas (cause he was able to bring 3 UK players an 3 UK recruits) and he will slowing slide further into mediocrity cause his recruiting footprint is cut in half. A good portion of blue chippers aren't even going to seriously consider Arkansas. He'll still some just like he was able to get them to Memphis, but his options will just be smaller. Face it Cal is 65 and in the Jerry Tarkanian at Fresno, Bob Knight at Texas Tech, Denny Crum end of career faze. He's washed, plays a boring pearl clutching system, doesnt have a clue how to game plan and defend these modern 4 & 5 out offenses that set 500 screens and shoot 35 threes a game.
