As a born Kentucky fan and a Cal fan for a long time. He needed to move on. Im sorry but Kentucky is too big of a program to only have 1 ncaa tournament win in 4 years. Tubby was kicked out for way less. Cal said about Tubby Smith when he was first hired that Kentucky had too high of a standard for first exits in tournaments. He was right then and now.

Cal had to leave, he became aware of alum giving up on Ky and his party was over. In my opinion 3 years too late. We were to the point we don’t care about who is going to play in the pros , give me a championship quality team. He had the fans, he had the kids, what we didn’t have was a focused coach on winning.
That’s also why women college basketball is better right now cause the players stay longer its easier to stay invested

Does Keyshawn even know what he is talking about at times? Cal already said he didn't want to adapt to the portal and all that. He wants to continue to recruit high rated freshman. As a Kentuckian born and raised and basketball has always been first love. What coach Cal done for players, students, and even people we are grateful. I personally feel Cal is obviously an A+ Recruiter but a C+ in game/game time coach. His weakness is adapting and making adjustments on the fly imo. His other weakness will be not adapting to the portal. I hope Kentucky gets someone like Jay Wright, if he will give up the desk lol. Really hope we get a defensive minded all around coach. Dan Hurley would also be ideal but don't see that happening with UCONN about to win a chip tonight.
Keyshawn, it's a coach's job to get individuals on one accord. It is not an acceptable excuse to say the kids aren't worried about winning a title. Cal should get players in there that want to win, if he can't get those kids to buy in

John Calipari is a salesman, not a coach. He believes that he is OVER Kentucky and HE’S the reason for all the recent success. Not knowing that the same players he recruited would’ve gone pro REGARDLESS if they went to Kentucky or not. for example: Rob Dillingham-a top 5 lottery pick in this year’s draft-originally committed to NC State, went to Kentucky to be on the national stage and for the extra boosters. That’s the power of a blue blood. Calipari coaches individually and still hangs on one and done with little experience on the roster. It doesn’t work anymore. & his coaching staff has regressed over the years as well.

A lot of people hate John Calipari, thinking he is an incompetent coach and a HOF fraud after his lackluster playoff performances. But do you see how many players he’s sent to the NBA? He’s obviously doing something right. Calipari is getting a fresh start, with 2nd to 4th year players + any recruits that Calipari brings from UK or that recommit. Arkansas will be a very underrated team next year

Coach Cal almost pigeonholed himself with the 1 & done players that he couldn’t establish the College success he needed in order to make the March Madness run he needed. You need talent but you need experience, composure, and consistency too. I hope he recruits from the protocol and from the high schools and the junior colleges too.
Arkansas shouldn't be expecting a national championship because I guarantee you his best coaching days are far behind him just like Bill Belichick. Sport evolves but these guys don't they're stuck in their ways. Not to mention Cal's best friend is the Tyson CEO, who has billions and has given hundreds of millions to the Arkansas athletic department. Arkansas has some of the biggest boosters in sports. With this new NIL era and no caps on how much $$$$$ you can spend, Arkansas could also fire their head coach in CFB and hire a big name new coach and pay players. What took place by the NCAA losing those court cases in Tennessee and Virginia and the NCAA say we're done now dealing with NIL; the schools with the pocketbooks are going to become players in the big show.
Many of these top players go off to prep school so they have some experience away from home.

The crazy thing is if I’m not mistaken Wall and Cousins was there before AD so Cal has produced absurd amount of talent and sent them boys off to the league and made them millions and a lot of families happy. It’s the other family that he hasn’t made happy like the alumni and fans and with all that talent they was waiting on Ships and them Banners! I think it was split in half with the administration and boosters he may not delivered championship but he delivered checks and kickbacks coming back to the University from all them multimillionaires now alumni former players. I wouldn’t be surprise if he wins a ship at Arkansas the recruits will follow cal based on the facts all the guy’s they know in the league that played for him. He will just build Arkansas into a Tennessee, Auburn and look at Alabama the last couple of years so the SEC should be fun to watch in the next couple of years!

When I moved with my mom in 97 to Lexington, the atmosphere was night and day different and what keyshawn is exclaiming here is down right disgusting to have a mindset like that. But that's what it is and that IS what Calipari has cultivated and fostered there at Kentucky, lottery picks over banners mean more. Sorry but the fans think differently.
