    You timing is perfect. I just finished my ceramic coat last week. There are a few finger prints left behind…

    I had a professional apply a Kamikaze ceramic about six months ago. I notice now that there’s obvious high spots between the lettering on the back of the car. What’s the best way to remove those without removing the lettering? A machine head is too wide.

      Great question! It is going to be really really really tough to near impossible to do so without removing the lettering. Depending on how strong the coating is it may need to be wet-sanded to remove high spots but far more likely you can remove it with some compound or polish. Having said that you need to get the high spots off without over-polishing the paint that does not contain high spots.

    Thank you. Just ceramic coated my car last night and after I put it under sun light this morning, I found a lot of streaking/smearing.
    I've tried using polishing compound (Menzerna 3800) to remove the smearing and it worked really well I must say. I'm planning to do correction for the rest of the spots next week, do you think that's fine? Or is there any specific time window before I have to go with abrasive method?

      Great question! Sorry its been 48 hours already since you posted this! The sooner they are removed the easier it will be. Eventually it can need to be wet sanded if its a strong coating! SO don't wait too long.. The sooner the better to make it really easy to fix. One day is easy, after a full week it can become more difficult. Also depends on the climate (how fast it fully cures) and on the type of coating.

      @@SkyCarCare Actually I just applied CQuartz UK 3.0 and it's been 6 days. I think I'll do the very first contact wash since the coating was applied first and then make some corrections. I hope I don't need to go through the abrasive method.

      @@Ghozianpribadi Sounds perfect! Give it a good wash, light polish on the high spots, panel wipe and re-coat those spots as described in this video.

    I even used Tar X once, in uk 3.0 and it lost its hydro repellency on the spot.
    Thanks for the video.

      How do you regain the hydro repellency? Would washing the vehicle with something like Reset do the trick?

    • @dacdri
      @dacdri Před rokem +2

      @@Gabriel-ct2wn Even using reset, Lift does not recover I had to coat the affected area again

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před rokem +1

      @@Gabriel-ct2wn that would be the first step.... wash with Reset immediately after to neutralize the TarX affects. if that doesn't bring back hydrophobics and the paint is otherwise smooth then either Essence Plus, Hydrofoam wash, or re-coat

    I DIY installed my coating last week and found that the very feint high spots I found 2 days later very easily came off with a little bit off essence (not essence plus) on a Microfibre towel and extremely gentle pressure. Is it advisable to recoat these treated areas? I am hoping my very gentle technique and the minimal abrasive in essence has left the underlying coating alone. Thanks Corey!

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před 7 měsíci

      Great question, I would recommend re-coating those spots since Essence contains abrasives. If you do not want to then you can just see how it goes and add soon Essence Plus on top if those spots aren't beading/protected as you want.Thank you!
      Warmest Regards,
      Corey

    Will high-spots eventually disappear after a couple years as the coating wears away? I coated my girlfriends car a couple months ago and only recently notice a couple high-spots. They don’t bother her and I don’t want to polish and buy more coating if it will eventually fade away.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před rokem +1

      Eventually yes... but could take many years. They will last longer than the rest of the coating.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před rokem +1

      If they do not bother her and nobody cares then it is not hurting anything.

    Do you have any suggestions for removal of CQuartz Skin on self-healing PPF?

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yes, as long as you can confirm that the following item is safe for the PPF you use then we recommend Dupont degreaser number 3920s for removing CQUARTZ Skin. Sorry for the slow reply!

    Why are some of your products not allowed in California?

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před rokem +1

      Because California has VOC laws which dictate a variety of rules... Unfortunately we learned the hard way and after paying huge fines and another 30k in legal fees we shared what we know with the rest of the industry... Some have chosen to take our hard earned knowledge and others have chosen to continue playing with fire... But California classifies products and then dictate what amount of VOC is allowed in each classification. For example... Eraser... Since they do not have a classification for "Panel Wipe". they chose to call it a glass cleaner and for a "non aerosol glass cleaner" 3% is the max VOC in california. Although Eraser uses ethanol which I think is quite clean and certainly cleaner than the alcohol you can buy at the pharmacy, it does not follow their regulations of how much alcohol can be in a glass cleaner and therefore, if you use it or sell it or buy it in california then you will be fined by the state government.
