I’ve been using these for about two, two and a half months. Can definitely recommend them, except for one issue: the left bud has a low-level white / flapping noise that I wasn’t able to get rid of, at least on mine. Plural. I returned one pair because of it, thinking it a defect, but as the second pair had the same identical issue, I just got used to it.
It’s nothing you’ll really hear when walking / exercising / biking outside, though, so it doesn’t cause issues with the main use case for me: being able to listen to navigation instructions and music while biking without compromising safety too much, as you can still hear your surroundings.
The fact that the microphones work well for calls was an added bonus. Also: the silver one is a chrome, mirror finish. Great for a traditional cyberpunk look.
EDIT 2023/12/03: The latest firmware update mitigates the issue by about 60%. The ’flapping’ noise in the left bud is now reduced to just a slightly punchier white noise. Great! Easily 9,5 / 10 earbuds now. 🙂

I just switched to Shokz OpenRun which are also open ear but squeeze a bit much for their bone conduction tech. I really prefer the open ear because buds can give me a mild case of swimmer's ear after a while, as well as they just get skin and some ear wax on them. These maybe a good choice if they stay on as good as they did in the video, which is why I went with the OpenRun. A loop for a loose string would be nice if you don't want to risk losing one if they do get knocked off.

Finally! headphone company for recognizing that touch controls aren't always ideal. Many users face challenges, especially in windy conditions or with long hair, as these factors can inadvertently trigger touch controls. It's refreshing to see a company acknowledging this issue. I wish more companies would follow suit or provide firmware updates for older products, allowing users to disable touch controls when needed. Having the option to switch off touch controls ensures a smoother music experience, especially in challenging conditions. Other companies should take note and offer users the flexibility to toggle touch controls on or off based on their preferences and situations.🎧👍 #HeadphoneControls #UserExperience #TechInnovation

The one thing I think you should also start testing with any and all headphones is how they feel for those who wear glasses, because the comfort level is always different for us. And while these look awesome, I have Aventree open-ear headphones (wired with lightening port, but they also have wired for USB-C & 3.5 jack) and I had to get used to putting them on and how to wear them differently due to my glasses than I likely would have if I didn't need glasses. One would be surprised how less space at the ears there is in motorcycle helmets, especially those not designed for an intercom.

I have the original oladance and I wear glasses. You dont feel any discomfort. Your ear sticks out a little more but not painful by any means.

I thought they could end up making a rubbing or clicking sound, they both use the same space they will touch each other. And on top of that, how comfortable would the the extra space used by both be?
Im wearing glasses and use The HyperX Clouds over ear with foam, and sure they will cause warm ears and sometimes even a little sore spot on my left ear. They do the job well enough not to bother complaining ;)

@@hfitch I would not want to risk it, I know my ears will be irritated by bending forward by them. It's not a risk I would be willing to take, knowing my ears ;)
You might be lucky with your tolerance to your ears bending ;)
And yes how can anybody really predict how or what your ears will experience, let alone test for those scenario''s?
That is a valid question as well ;)

Don’t think anyone has figured out this design for people with glasses (or if people wanna wear shades?)

I've got the original OWS, they are amazing for what they are. But, they lack in deep bass, and the output is kinda weak. (Maybe my ears does not accept them good enough to have strong volume.)
Paid around 300cnd. For 300$ you can get A LOT of a better sound. But if you're a fan of the design, they're pretty much best in class. Also battery life is amazing.

I'm super interested in things like this as a secondary (primary?) earbud for when I need to hear and am listening to something like podcasts or audiobooks where the sound quality isn't as important, and maybe sometimes music if they sound decent enough. The only problem is I don't want to spend high quality price for something like this when I only care about them for speech. If someone could make something like this way cheaper I'd be very up for it.
On a side note about battery life, I've been wondering about this as well with true wireless buds. Idk why it's not more common to have the hook behind the ear design to be able to fit way more battery while also making earbuds much much more secure. I'd way rather have that even on in ear buds for the massive increase in battery life. Let alone the fact that they're less likely to come out, and if they do they're less likely to fall completely off of you to the ground, and if that somehow does happen, they're much easier to see/find since they're larger.

    • @niclastname
      @niclastname Před 7 měsíci

@@hord1827 I have passthrough on mine, but it's just not the same. I can't control the passthrough volume so it's still quieter than not having them in, and it still never sounds as open and natural as real unplugged ears. Then there's always the issue of talking with your ears plugged adding a bunch of resonance of your own voice into your head.
