Giani Puran Singh Ji is a former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and a former Head Granthi of Sri Harmander Sahib, Amritsar.
In this interview he talks about his personal experiences during the attack on Sri Harmander Sahib, Amritsar in 1984.
He describes how the attack started during the night and progressed during the next day, how he and the sewadars carried out sukhasan and asa-ki-var sewa whilst grenades and gunshots went off all around them and how the grounds were blackened with mortar fire and turbans of countless shaheeds were strewn all over the floor.
His concluding message to Sikhs around the world is to take Amrit, stay in Sikh rehat, pray everyday and work for the benefit of all.
