Another issue with the hammer is that you're immobile when swinging on the ground. It really messes with stage flow. Then there are those hammer digging levels... X(

I've only used a super hammer once so far in my levels and only in a short part where you build crates on top of a piranha creeper and then use his hammer to smash through blocks. But I'll definitely use it more with the ideas from this video.
Small correction: You only need to beat the story, not the "Let's go Builder Mario!" level to unlock the item.
Not true. I finished the story recently, and it wasn't unlocked for me. I had to do the level in order to unlock it.
A missing fact:
When Mario jumps and swings his hammer, The speed of how he swings the hammer increases.

You don't need to beat "Let's go, Builder Mario!". It unlocks after beating "Meowser Showdown."

What everyone should keep in mind is to place the hammer in ?-Blocks only. As it makes Multiplayer-Versus so much more fun.

Incase y’all are wondering, the Super Hammer Wind-up animation takes about 0.2 seconds (12 frames when playing at 60 FPS and 6 frames at 30 FPS).

Great video. The Super Hammer can be superb in some stupendously special stages shown, but using this honored hammer haphazardly can have high hopes be hopelessly hammered down.
What I don't like is that there are people that don't know you can make crates so then people don't finish your levels. Wish it was more clear that you can makes crates. :(

Fun and kaizo are incompatible.
I disagree, unless you specifically mean the Kaizo Mario World series, which I doubt. Kaizo levels are mostly just suited to really good mario players.
The fabled Hammer Slayer is capable of defeating Boos and Thwomps. It's a powerful tool passed down from generation to generation.
It was pretty cool unlocking A new PowerUp like the Ball PowerUp thing. It has its Uses. But maybe if it had more things to work with it would be better.

All that Kaizo stuff is true except for that one PePanga Pog The Builder level. Apparently it's harder to get boxes when facing right than left.

Hammers DO hit blocks above. Destructible blocks cause the hammer to pass through which is VERY important if you don't want the hammer to recoil, but you want a ceiling. If you use ground tiles or pblocks or spike blocks, the hammer will bounce off it from any direction including the top. This is a very important element in the builder courses I make.
As for Kaizo levels, I've almost finished one that I've been polishing the mechanics and techniques for such a long time. It's extremely fast paced and makes use of almost everything you can utilize the powerup for. Progression and tech levels for this powerup are on my channel, it is the most underrated powerup in all of Mario history, not just maker.
Update. Kaizo Builder level is now uploaded lol. Hopefully people can utilize the unique techniques within to make more builder levels.
I think the next one should be an enemy, like a Koopa Clown Car or a Piranha Creeper (wait, isn’t that a gizmo?)

I really dislike playing with this powerup. The button the stops you in your track to make an attack is the same as the running button, unless you jumped. The way you summon crates is also janky. So many times I destroyed my crates with a hammer attack when I was trying to summon one. Leading me to be extra cautious by holding up for way too long before hitting the y button.
Also, as you said, this is the hardest powerup to de-cheese.

i've made a unique level using the supper hammer, based off mining in minecraft! 16H-GVL-SJG due to the nature of the level there are many chances to get softlocked (the pipe randomly decides to stop spawning hammers at a point) but i hope you have fun in this surprising twist on mario!

In the "no effect" category, a super mushroom icon is shown under the ant trooper. This represents a big ant trooper, which is, in fact, not affected by hammer attacks.
