    It's a time consuming process but awesome that you have the ability and knowledge to do this!

    This was the most explanatory video of showing and explaining the process and making, plus using the "Master" profiles after they were made. ..........
    I just wish the most that it was titled; "Master Making And Grinding Camshaft For XXX." Because it didn't come up under "Camshaft Grinding Masters" and was found on the side list of videos. ..........
    Sorta wish a comment of most other flat tappet camshafts are parkerized at X point, but not that particular grind due to roller lifters. ..........

    After cutting the master , I assume you have to watch which way you mount the master on the other end of the spindle. If you flipped it over, would it grind a different profile?

    Hi there what’s the best cam grinding machine but not for high output machining

    What can you tell me about tappets? I have a 1984 Navy Motor Whaleboat with a Westerbeke 107-4 diesel engine. Per my mechanic it needs tappets for a rebuild as the original ones are beginning to flake from wear. I've attempted to locate a source for the tappets but to no avail. For the lack of a few relatively low dollar parts my engine rebuild is at a standstill. In your experience is it possible to recondition or otherwise improve a tappet to be serviceable and reliable? If a tappet of similar size, slightly over, was located could it be machined to size if the process is practical.
    I saw a video from a shop in California that showed welding up a camshaft lobe with hardened rod and then machining back to contour. I was curious if this would in any way be possible with a tappet/lifter?
    Would you have any suggestion that could help in resolving my tappet problem so I can get my motor running again? Any suggestion of a machine shop that does this kind of work would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I always wondered how regrinds where done. Thanks.
    Just one question. Since the base is ground down, would I have to measure for different pushrod length?
    Again, thank you for sharing. Great video.

    YOU SHOULD EXPLAIN TO ALL ABOUT HOW REMOVAL OF METAL FROM CAMSHAFT CENTERLINE CREATES LIFT

    • @williamcox4910
      @williamcox4910 Před 5 lety

      BY REMOVING MEAT FROM THE BACK OR HEEL OF SHAFT IT RAISES THE NOSE OR THE TIP, THE CENTERLINE IS EFFECTIVELY FURTHER FROM TIP, THUS CREATING MORE LIFT
