    Hi everyone, loved this video. The escaping pig was a good one. I thought it would have knocked it's self out with the force it hit the gate. The pool is looking do inviting. I have to wait a week before we get hot weather and then I can go to the river with the dog. Glad you keep in contact with Jasper, I follow his videos too. It's nice you all look out for each other. Thanks for sharing,stay safe keep sane,enjoy the pool with a glass of pims.😊❤

      I totally agree. A huge part of what makes your videos so good...authenticity. Growing up on a farm myself, knowing firsthand farming is no picnic with various struggles not the least being mechanical difficulties! Time lapse of the Portuguese countryside was really nice. However the very best part was Sandra`s heartfelt speech sitting on the water tank!!! Thank you for sharing Sandra. Yall keep on doing what you are doing, Randy/GA (USA) 👍👍

    I am speaking randomly here so please be kind.
    Electronically the cameras you have aimed at the fields could trigger all kinds of fear to the pigs. It triggers an audio of screaming men with swords rushing in (like in the braveheart movie).
    Electronic fire work squib explosions that kick up dust. Audio an visual are 2 triggers that will make any beast surely RUN and not come back.
    Cost - Well Alex can build everything, that`s for sure. 😁

      @FontedaPipaPortugueseFarmLife  Před 11 měsíci +1

      That is a great idea but most of the cameras only have a microphone and no speaker.... i have one that has a spear and we used the alarm and flashing lights, it worked for 3 nights then they ignored it🙄
      I watched guy in America use huge sound and light systems, the pigs get used to it and just ignore it.
      They only walk off when we let the dogs out and even now flashing lights or if they hear us drive home while i watch them on the cameras, they take no notice...... the only run when they hear me shout.... i need s gun license, then they might listen🤣
      But thank you for your great comment and suggestion👍

      Lovely sport chasing wild pigs out of gardens, reminds me of my times back on our farm in Zimbabwe 1965/70 when we were overrun by these animals destroying our crops by digging up and eating the roots mainly and leaving the vegetation. We mainly set traps ( big strong steel cage type units and put them into the fence, they would find the opening into the field (which was the opening into the cage and when they stepped onto the plate the shutter door would drop closing them in the cage. Lovely meat for the braai (barbecue) and our deep freezers kept full. The only downside was was when one is caught, they don’t come back for a few weeks and you have to move the cage to another area along the fence and disguise the opening with bushes.

      @@tomprice2501 I have watched all those metal traps and the ones that drop down... the problem here is they are illegal and as i know many hunters they would not be happy with me if i caught a whole group as they dont want the numbers to go down or they loose the pigs to hunt, kind of crazy really with the damage they cause.👍
