I'm a GenX'er whose riden for decades. I've owned several dirtbikes/ATVs/street bikes over the years and have worked on dirtbikes professionally for a couple decades. All that said, I just picked up a Kayo last month. I'm a 2 stroke guy, so I got the KT250. It has many of the same parts, suspension as your K6R. I think the bike is incredible. It's a fantastic woods bike. The quality is on par with any make.
I have 2 of the Kayos... A K2 230 that I'm abusing horrendously in our desert heat... 800÷ miles in a couple of months and no mechanicals yet... (Think 6 bikes in rotation before you say "that's not much.") The other is a KT 250. It is a sweet riding bike...typical 2-stroke complaint...low mpg. The (smart. if true) rumors I've heard is that they are going to remain '21 models so they can keep selling into CA as red sticker. (Non CARB compliant bikes sold into CA are private land only starting with '22 models.) One complaint, in general, would be a bash plates, stock, on bikes they are pushing as enduros.
I was wondering bout the 2 stroke, I bet its a sweet bike a bit different look than the GPX and less $. I like the black frame. I got the 250 EFI, and it took a bit of tinkering but its the Unicorn Bike iv been looking for after coming from a klx250, yz250fx and crf450x. This motor has crazy torque, and the dohc upgrade really pulls hard in the upper rpms but super linear power from idle to redline. Actually feels like +30hp like claimed. Great mpg, goes over 100 miles on 1.9g and never flames out, tractors thru everything. Suspension prefers faster riding, but Im 210lbs and the clickers comfy for slow enduro. I got a Acerbis skidplate on today, but took heavily modifications LOL. My biggest issue was just like GPX efi bikes, mine came with injector clogged. I went to buy a '21wr250f, but glad i didnt. This bike is better for trails/light dual sport and half the price too.
Hey Joe, didnt want to get too involved on the GPX page about the K6's LOL. But curious bout how your carb'd motor delivers power. Is it a high revving? So far the EFI has been impressive low/mid rpm power that signs off at higher rpm. Im unsure if i cleaned the injector/filters properly, after so the throttle was definitely smoother and it revved out a little farther and smoother but Im still wondering if its thats how this motor was meant or if i still have a fuel line clog?
