Chris Staley thanks for all the love guys... she was a white girl , but spoke fluent Spanish she was with my dad for 20 years before she passed and she had me when she was 18 and I still remember me being in a car seat and her jamming out to Selena. I just watched season 2 and I’m just devastated all over again. It’s all so unfair, she was such a beautiful person who was loved not just be her fans but her family. It’s like she was the glue that held everyone together and I’m just so sad for them because they have to live without her.

She really does embody selena's spirit. I teared up watching this mini clip. It took me back to my fanatic self when I was little. I can't wait to see!!!
That was my first reaction. The little smiles, the winks, the overall sweetness... She either studied footage very close, or she's blending part of her natural demeanor with her acting. Either way, she's got it. She might look different, but the spirit shines through.
Everyone did amazing job...Christian did great in this series...Beautiful way to pay tribute...and yet show new fans on who Selena truly was...always in our hearts...

I think Christian did a good job the series is so long though but she did a good job on playing her its not about who can be like her or be her its about keeping her spirit alive and memories alive as well. Everything about this series is so much better than the movie.
Maybe the fact that it tells a fuller story is better, but the acting, the lip syncing & the performances leave a lot to be desired. I don’t hate this show, but I’m disappointed in it. They could’ve done so much more, did it better.

I think that Christian looks exactly like Selena a lot of times on the show. I heard that the men’s shirts Selena wore in this video is really Chris’s shirts. In 1994-95, I used to wear some of my dad’s old clothes from the 1970’s, & mix them up with feminine pieces, like bodysuits, heeled boots, chokers. Whatever early-mid ‘90’s feminine pieces I have in my house! Selena was ahead of her time fashion wise.

I binged watched both seasons of the series. I liked it better than the movie, but I’d like to think that Selena was less simplistic than characterized. Her ambition and talent obviously indicated depth. I would have liked to have seen that highlighted, but I didn’t know her, so maybe that wasn’t in her wiring. That could’ve been who she was....and wasn’t. All accounts indicate she was very sweet and loving, but rather naive in many ways. I think things might have been different if she would’ve been less emotionally dependent on her family. But that was ALL she knew. They were talented and driven, but they depended on her voice, appeal & song interpretation and she depended almost solely on their support in all aspects of her life. It seemed very confining. I know control was an issue, but perhaps if they would have allowed properly vetted pros in to help with ALL aspects of their enterprise, the Selena story might be different. Just a thought.
The actress portraying Selena did a fine job. Their body types were a bit different, but there were a few times in mid range shots where I thought they’d actually interspersed shots of Selena.
Sorry but this is the Walmart version. I mean it’s not going to be exactly 100% but she could of learned the song better so her lips matched the words.
