- The X-Men Dark Phoenix trailer confirmed one thing to us all. The X-Men timeline is an absolutely dumpster fire. So let's get into some of the biggest continuity blunders from X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men, The Last Stand, Wolverine Origins, X-Men First Class, The Wolverine, Days Of Future Past, Apocalypse

"They both met when they were 35
and then they stayed 35 for 40 years
and then they were 75"
InverseAgonist the second this happened I scrolled down to the comments and found this
So basically the same as the comics.
@@jbrisby Exactly, finally a movie series that follows the source material! In 40 years they only age 5 years, that's a comic trope that isn't represented well enough in the movies.
@FanboyFilms
And that's pretty much the only thing they got right from the comics lol.
Those anti aging creams must be hella good to keep u 35 for 40 years..
The only useful thing about all the timeline and continuity errors within the “x men film universe”, is it gives Deadpool something funny to point out in his films!
"funny"
And he also gets to point at his balls
TDF is not a remake in regards to the story it's self because that x3 timeline was erased but it TDF story was destined to happen anyways!Just a bit different this time!
What's funny is that X-Men cameo Easter Egg in Deadpool 2. Because it is in 2018 (or at least about nowadays) but the X-Men still look like from 1980s.
Brand new comic book themed music video apperences from SPIDER MAN BATMAN AND SUPERMAN BLACK PANTHER STRANGE GHOST RIDER ECT czcams.com/video/S-CJociMXcw/video.html
This is all easily explained by Professor X faking being a cripple for sympathy.
Holy shit, so Prof X- just "Gypsy Rose'd" us?
Lol thats funny
I have a theory
After Shaw died in First Class, his de-aging powers dispersed and randomly affected everyone
First Class mentioned that Mystique's shapeshifting abilities make her age slower than any normal person (even if she were 75, she'll still have the body of a teenage girl).
Beast ended up inheriting her de-aging ability when he used her blood to create a cure for his mutation.
Xavier's serum that helped him walk again had side effects like rapid aging and hair loss (it's why he already looks like Patrick Stewart in the X3 flashback scene and Wolverine Origins). When Wolverine convinced him to stop taking the serum in Days of Future Past, then Xavier doesn't age that much anymore so he remained looking like James McAvoy in Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.
Lastly, in the comic books, Magneto used the earth's magnetic fields to regenerate his body which allowed him to stay young. Ergo, how Magneto stayed young in the movies.
@@loudboy317 No, it was magical Kevin Bacon powers. Shh.
@loudboy did you just try to gloss over Magneto comics weirdness? Dude got turned into a baby. Also, in comics, Mystique is way older than Wolverine.
dumb
@@loudboy317 woah
in Last Stand, Charles and Magneto visit a child Jean Grey in 1987 but in Apocalypse she is a full grown teenager in the 80's
Different timelines.
Erastus Mwandingi you keep on spamming the same shit without actually giving an answer.
@@Heru_Iluvatar SHUT THE FUCK UPP
Think of it as like a butterfly effect, Logans presence in his younger self was sending a rift through time causing a universal shift changing the history of the world he was originally from in to something completely different, basically him stopping mystique from killing the wee dwarf guy, fuck if I can remember his name... altered history and made a completely different reality.
@Elias Tzouliou, an answer to what? The question is irrelevant to begin with. The timeline in the X-men films are simple to understand. If you want to see a fucked up timeline with jarring inconsistencies go buy one of the current X-men comics Marvel is publishing.
Wow, this timeline is more broken than Michael Joseph Jackson’s dream of being Spider-Man.
Its more broken than my gradessss.....
McMistle I’d say it’s more broken than Prof. X’s spins but even that isn’t reliable
Mat Garro
Nah he’s still capable of spinning in the wheelchair. Some would even say that he’s more capable of spinning when in the wheelchair.
Embird sometimes when he’s alone in the mansion, he’ll do donuts on the floor, only to fall out of his wheelchair, and cry for a few hours until the X-Men come home to pick him up
At least he got to live the dream of being born a Black Boy, growing up to become a white woman.
Also, in apocalypse it seems like Magneto didn't know Quicksilver even though he broke him out of prison
I swear I hadnt noticed that lol
Timeline so messed up they start to forget each other lol
In Apocalypse the only reason Quicksilver comes on the mission is to tell Magneto that they are related, and when they finally meet, he doesn't.
Sam Moshi no he knew him just didn't know he was his son
FanboyFilms The only reason Quicksilver is in Apocalypse at all is because he was part of the only memorable scene everyone liked from Days of Future Past.
At some point of this vid, I didn't know what you were talking about anymore. I thought I knew these films.
Thry mixed up timeliness. Everything before days of future past does not exist and we should assume a Flashpoint paradox situation were things that didn't happen in the original timeline will now happen.
Same
I'm not even sure if I watched any of these movies
Days of future past would have been the perfect ending to the series.
Logan*
Logan is the ending. First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 1 & 2 (you'll notice that both Jean and Mystique were missing in the cameo), Logan
It's what I always end my marathons with. Dofp then logan
Logan haven't happen yet it set in 2029
I agree. DOFP should have ended both the prequels and the original cast. A happy ending for everyone.
I am fully aware Im a nerd and that nobody cares BUT there actually IS a mutant who does mutant plastic surgery. His names Masque.
He's a Morlock.
Yeah, I know all about Masque, haha. I don't consider myself a nerd, though.
Beat me to it.
Came down to the comments to say the same thing. I remember him morphing the Power Packs faces so some Morlock friend of his could keep them as their own children. Of course Calisto didn't know this was going on. She had already been beaten by Storm. I read that like a few weeks ago I think.
yeh, but he's ugly.
...cursed, his powers don't work on himself! nyooo!
Wow you’re a nerd, nobody cares
How about Trask being Peter Dinklage and growing up to be Bill Duke? He changes both race and height pretty significantly.
TBF, I don’t think the Bill Duke Trask was the same character. In the OG timeline, Mystique killed Bolivar Trask so the Trask in the Last stand was just a character with the same last name.
In the same vein, we're supposed to believe that Stifler grows up to be Danny Huston who further grows up to be Bryan Cox.
And then grew up to be Logan Roy.
The one that always stood out to me was Cerebro. In X1, Charles said he doesn't know why he can't find Magneto because he's found a way to block Cerebro and knows how to cos he helped Charles build it. The in First Class, Magneto gets his helmet from some dude and Cerebro is built by Beast before he met Charles. HUH WHAT?!!!
That's because I think First Class was supposed to be a reboot at first, not prequel.
The soviets built that helmet
I always perceived Prof X's "resurrection as:
(A) he store his mind in the comatosed body that's just a guy not his twin.
(B) they find a mutant who is able to reconstruct his body. He says to Logan "as I told you long ago your not the only one wiht gifts".
(C) he transfers his mind back into his "new" body.
Why is the body still paralysed? Because he wants the disabled parking spots.
@loudboy317 What? Wrong thread I assume
@@92brunod
Sorry, I didn't notice.
So basically X-Men: The Last Stand and The Wolverine make Charles into a dick who wants to steal people's parking spaces for himself.
That last bit got me, I'll give you that.
Walking just takes so much effort.
They didn't have to set the timelines decades apart. That's the problem. So now Quicksilver has gone from 17 to 37, looks the exact same. What's happened to the X-Men in those years? Who knows. They should have had a bunch of adventures we'd love to see, we won't.
Kill it all with fire.
and still lives at his mom's
Even worse, 37-year-old Quicksilver (1993) looks exactly the same as 62-year-old Quicksilver in Deadpool 2 (2018), as well as the entire X-Men cast from Dark Phoenix in their cameo (Xavier, Beast, Cyclops, Nightcrawler). According to my calculations, McAvoy is playing an 88-year-old man.
Actually, Dark Phoenix is set in 1992 and Quicksilver is 36 in the film. Evan Peters was born in 1987 which makes him 31 years old. There's only a 5 year age difference.
@@loudboy317 And Nicholas Hoult is younger, born in late 1989. He's a 28-year-old playing someone who's in his early fifties at best.
Granted, we can concede that Beast's serum makes him younger, Xavier is doing a psychic projection, Mystique is shapeshifting younger, and maybe Quicksilver has some sort of anti-aging power since by all accounts he should be older looking than he actually is (he's a speedster who wastes lots of time hanging out in faster speeds).
But Magneto must really work out. He doesn't look like any of the Holocaust survivors I've seen in the 1990s.
The timeline wouldn't be so convoluted if they didn't use the same character in different places in time.
Michael Fassbender, played by magneto.
😂😂😂
Magneto doesn’t get played.

Kwitzy ditto 😂😂

Oh, I thought this was gonna be a video on how broken the RELEASE timeline for this movie is. My bad.
Your comment made my day for some reason
Gottem
just make it more complicated by adding X-Men into the MCU *without* a reboot
There will obviously be a reboot not only for that.
Without Hugh Jackman's Wolverine the only reason to not reboot is to keep the only 2 good characters that are Fassbender's Magneto and McAvoy's Xavier. All the others characters, actors and storylines are totally disposable and not worth keeping.

WHAT IS THERE NOT TO GET. TWO SEPARATE CANNONS REPRESENTED BY TWO TIMELINES, TIMELINE 1 WHICH WHICH REPRESENTS CANNON 1 IS NOT CANNON TO TIMELINE 2, EVEN AS A PREVIOUS TIMELINE, IT ISN'T CANNON TO TIMELINE 2. TIMELINE 2 REPRESENTS CANNON 2.
New Cannon 2
--------------------------
1960s=First Class
1970s=Days of Future Past
1980s=Apocalypse
1990s=Dark Phoenix
2020s=Logan
-As for Charles and Erik's age, in this new timeline the earliest version of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen's version of the characters is in Days of Future Past which takes place in the 2020s, that gives James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender a 30 year gap to age into Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen's version of the characters. In the old cannon, they looked like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen since the 1980s.

It's easier to put them in their own separate timelines/universes:
Origins Wolverine-X1, 2, & 3, The Wolverine, Logan are one timeline
First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix are a separate new timeline.
Deadpool & DP2 make up a third separate timeline
Logan set in second timeline
Xmen First class
X men Dofp(Bolivar Trask survived)
Apocalypse
Dark phoenix
X men 1
Dofp(new future)
Logan
So Charles died in X3 but days future past alive to pick up Wolverine? 🤔
@@wandersongabriel4423 that would work
The DP movies are in the first class timeline
Well actually Logan is in the second timeline.

Ask Michael Jackson
Fucking magic, dude.
don't be transracial
He grew
Loophole. It wasn't the same person. The black guy from The Last Stand was just called "Trask".
Also: no indication of Charles and Mystique being literally in love 40 years ago but complete strangers in the original trilogy
I didn't specify it as romantic love
Alternate timelines. The new one is First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 1 & 2 (you'll notice that both Jean and Mystique were missing in the cameo), Logan

You mean Hank and mystique right?
They met at 35, were 35 for 40 years, then were 75 😂😂😂😂 I lost it there lmao
Main takeaway from this:
F**k continuity in the X-Men films, because a few different directors had screwed everything up, when they undertook the projects.
funnily enough the two best xmen movies logan and dofp are the two most fucked in terms of their timeline
Also, at the end of Apocalypse, all the kids are standing in the danger room in their comic book outfits. Yet, in the trailer for Dark Phoenix, they are back to wearing matching jumpsuits.
I forgot about this! Such a shame. The shot of them in their awesome outfits was by far my favourite thing in that movie. I got really excited for the next one, because apparently I don't learn.
I think that is just an Easter egg at the end. Like at the end of the wolverine the Japanese girl gives Logan the yellow wolverine costume. It's just an Easter egg.
Continuity Smontinuity is what X-Films are all about.
Raghu Seetharaman Isn’t that what John Campea used to say?
True, true.
The original trilogy doesn't take place in this new canon. In the old cannon, Charles and Erik looked like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen since the 1980s as seen in Wolverine Origins and The Last Stand. In this new timeline/cannon they still age into the older actors but much later, the earliest version of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen we have seen in the new cannon was in Days of Future Past which took place in the 2020s, that gives James McCovey and Michael Fassbender 30 years to morph into Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
The one and only time I'll ever agree with this bot account!
The X-Files Movies are the best!
4:47 Was wondering how I missed Ant-Man being in the X-Men universe
I didn't even notice that until I read your comment, I've been laughing by myself like a moron for 5 minutes. Not only Magneto apparently plays Michael Fassbender in this universe but also Hank McCoy somehow morphs into Hank Pym. Sweet.

@@Cdr2002 My whole point was the new Timeline is better. The fact they brought back the OG Shang Tsung from the movies meant alot, and how they ended MK11 is exciting to me.
@@Datttsnake Shang is great and the story of the Netherrealm MKs are very entertaining but they are basically identical to the post FOP X-Men movies in the sense that they start off with so much potential cleaning up all of the crap of the old timelines, and then just like with X-Men Apocalypse/MK 10 had to screw things up. Very entertaining, Screw basic continuity right? Shao Kahn got Neutered, Kitana got absurdly buffed lore wise. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard all the genuine criticisms about both the X-Men movies and the later Mortal Kombat games so I’m not gonna waste your time saying things that probably been said but The full potential that both series whether it was the old timeline or the new one was never fully realized and It would’ve been very VERY easy to have made them better. I dont know if its Kelsey Grammer's face or what, but his Beast has always looked perfect. Whereas-- and I love Nicholas Hoult so don't @ me--Nicholas Hoult always looks ridiculous in the makeup. Just embarrassing compared to Grammer.
It's definitely his face... It's too perfect for the character 😂😂😂😂
Yea I agree, he was born to play Beast, too bad they never let him have a significant part in any movies, beyond the worst movie. I wish they would have just stole the animated series scripts and made it live action, therefore no convolution
Kelsey Grammer is one of the best casting picks in the franchise just behind wolverine and prof. X. He plays and looks the role to a T. I whish he would come back in the MCU. He would kill as the part of dark beast.
Ellen Page was also a good Kitty Pride. Too bad Fox wasted her and made her movie another Wolverine movie.
Also, grammar portrays a more convincing Hank McCoy in my opinion.
In Wolverine: The one with Ninjas, he gets some of the adamantium claws chopped off, so he shouldn't have them in X-Men Days of Future Past's Future.
ALSO, Magneto WAS also depowered in X3, which even though they hinted he could get out of it it got resolved offscreen before his little meeting with in the Airport.
Also this is less of a timeline thing but Mistique fucking poisons Xavier in X-Men 1. It's weird that she would not just poison him with a potentially lethal liquid, but also get a sick kick out of it because at some point she stopped being a talkative Jennifer Lawrence and became a silent sadistic Rebecca Romijin Stamos.
AND WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED WITH SABERTOOTH?
There’s an End Credit in X3 where Magneto moves a chess piece with his powers
Also THE SABRETOOTH ANNOYS ME SM
He had magneto as a teammate in X-Men Days of Future Past. He likely gave him back his adamantium claws
Also Rogue regained her powers in time for the Rogue Cut
Maybe Beast is handy with a Mig welder?
There might be two sabertooths: sabertooth and victor creed might be different blokes. same with angel from apocalypse and warren worthington from the last stand, jubilee in 1980s and 2000s, emma frost in first class and emma silverfox in origins, peter dinklage's bolivar trask and bill duke's trask, kevin bacon's sebastian shaw and charles siegel's shaw from X2. different versions of the same character's who were intended to be the legit version until another version popped up in a later film.
I love the fact that you left the best X-Men movie "Logan" alone.
It kind of takes place in its own alternate universe so it doesn't really hurt anything.
James Mangold said in an interview that they didn't even know that there was going to be a Caliban on X-Men: Apocalypse
He both actors were good in the movies
The cost of the lack of communication. It's such a weirdly specific choice of character, a minor one at that, must have been a hell of a coincidence.
@@battleangel8903 Thing is, it wasn't really a cost. They're pretty crap at doing a cinematic universe, but they're usually good at putting out these movies.
They had leeway with Caliban, since only those who looked into it would really question it, and that's one of the more tame examples. To be honest, they're good movies, but poor X-men movies, and this doesn't even address the timeline's problems. It's hard to ask the audience to invest in characters for the long run if they're going to be completely different in the next entry. This is the reason many more out there can list the MCU Avengers roster than really a single Fox X-men character outside of the Deadpool franchise and of course, Wolverine.
Can one really argue that Logan is bad because it uses Caliban without realizing Apocalypse used him? Logan is a bad movie...that's the premise? Sorry, no. Mangold didn't have to pay attention to what Singer did in Apocalypse...he was busy making one of the best movies of its kind.
Maybe Xavier was walking in x men 3 the last stand because he's a skrull. There's only one way to find out....CHARLES ARE YOU A SKULL? TELL US ARE YOU A BLOODY SKULL?

Wade Wilson was pushed from being born in the 50s to being born in the 80s. Jean Grey was pushed from being born in the 70s to being born in the 60s, and so on.
I'm surprised you didn't include the big hole of how Cerebro was created. In the first X-Men movie Cerebro was created by Xavier and Magneto, because Magneto wore his helmet to block Cerebro and psychic infiltration of his mind. In X-Men: First Class Cerebro was created by Beast and that CIA guy.

But then in Apocalypse Striker and his goons actually have wolverine for real, in their secret base or whatever. There is no explanation. Did Mystique give Logan over to striker? Or is it a retcon of the end of Future Past? we don't know and we never will. really peaves me off. gets me angry.
The Collector J-RUSS imagine taking the time and effort to write and film a scene, put in on screen, then just flat out forget or not care about the thing you literally just did previously. Like why bother in that case? Was it just for fun or something? It boggles the mind
Maybe she tried to save him but failed
Also stryker was in the army with mutants in wolverine origins
This has frustrated me since seeing Apocalypse. That was a big cliffhanger, Mystique posing as Stryker and being in charge of/having access to the Weapon X program could potentially have a huge affect on the world and the story, but they do absolutely nothing with it. Maybe she just got bored? But hey, it is the same movie where Magneto willing commits mass genocide and then Xavier lets him walk away as a free man.
@@ourlasthero51 it was a different timeline at that point though
One thing i can’t conceive is in all of these prequel movies there’s so many mutants that are seen by the public but in X-Men 1 the politicians are talking like they’ve only just figured them out and that mutants are only just appearing
First of all... 'X-Men Origins Wolverine' (That's the sequel is called 'The Wolverine') is not considered part of the "official timeline", just like 'X-Men 3', whose events were rewritten due to the changes generated by the time travel in 'Days of Future Past'
How about in The Wolverine, his claws are cut off so he gets his bone claws back, but then in Days of Future Past, he has adamantium claws again.
Mutant Mall: where you can pick up claw replacements in a jiff.
I think I read somewhere that Magneto can manipulate the adamantium in Wolverines body. As he's now on the same team maybe he fixed them?
Yeah but you can use that kind of explanation for most things (for example, Xavier making people think he's walking). The thing is it's not mentioned in the movies, so I doubt the writers even thought of it.

Ageless characters and seeming indifference to continuity is the most comic book thing ever.
Someone who gets it.
Yeah, hear we are critiquing xmen, but stuck with that comic book accuracy.
The thing is though that actually put dates on the movies unlike comics and Marvel actually put an explanation to the shenanigans with Reed Richards and Susan Storm's ultra powered son, implying he is the one that somehow compressed decades of comics into such a short time.
@@jasondrake323 Honestly, if you really want it to work, the timeline fits.
The biggest retcon was the introduction of the proper comic book suits at the end of _Days of Future Past_ but then in _Dark Phoenix_ they've got the original comic book suits that don't look like they help with their powers or provide any practical protection in any way. And then they're doing the big fight in their regular clothes for the umpteenth time
The best way to deal with these numerous undeniable continuity errors is to just view each film as taking place in its own universe.
I like what the film Logan did where all this media (comics, movies) are Hollywood interpretations of the actual events and vary drastically and often get their facts wrong or exaggerated. It's not consistent because everyone remembers the events differently or they've gone on to legend and thus completely departed from what actually transpired so who was where and when get kinda fuzzy.
The comic book gimmick.was a stroke of genius in Logan. It did a much better job explaining things than Days of Future Past did.
So all the previous X-Men movies are comic book stories from the Logan universe?
I was hoping we would get a movie about the professor x incident that was hinted in logan.
Jay Kim I guess you didn’t get that scene then. It wasn’t referring to the actual movies because a lot of those are canon in the Logan universe. 1970’s-1980’s - X-Men Origins: Wolverine
First Class cannot fit into the same timeline as Wolverine Origins because of Emma Frost.
Logan only exists in the same continuity as the original X-Men movie, as they reference the Statue of Liberty sequence, which is ~25 years before Logan, and it is mentioned that there have been no mutants ~25 years (IIRC). Meaning that after the events of X-Men 1, in which mutants exposed themselves to the world, the chemical was created that prevented the birth of mutants, preventing subsequent films from happening. After the incident at the manor leaves only Charles and Logan they go into hiding, leading into the events of Logan in 2029.
Feel free to correct any errors I made, my dates may be a little off.
Samur/Aye He doesn’t put First class together with origins
_thomas moon_ For that he can probably put in the original trilogy too, just a version in which people aren’t killed.
@@g-roy23 aye I realised that afterwards, got confused looking at the dates for "the Wolverine" thinking the first one he meant origins. I think we best just all agree that the timeline is well and truly buggered no matter how you look at it. lol
I stopped caring about the timeline a long time ago. It's more broken than Saitama!
It's not broken. First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 1 & 2 (you'll notice that both Jean and Mystique were missing in the cameo), Logan
I liked this comment just because it says "SAITAMA"
Yeah at this point I just like the movies and gave up on the timeline
How is saitama broken?
No one's talking about the most important thing:
Jean Grey doesn't smile ONCE. If that's not proof that the movie's going to be trash I don't know what is 😤
Exactly. I dont think I saw a single person smile in this trailer. Why is Jean singled out?
And she's the villain
so..a cosmic entity is trying to take control of her body and her powers are beginning to spiral out of control, which is the only thing the trailer showed, and you want her to smile, why, exactly?
Jesus fucking Christ. That's incredibly sexist. No one smiles on the trailer, but hey, women exist for our pleasure right? So they should be held up to a higher standard?
Eat my shit. 🖕🏽
Ahahahahaha. Nice one.

Basically, what I think now is that the Origins Wolverine isn’t canon. The original trilogy, First Class, The Wolverine and Days of future past happened, but the events of DoFP altered the timeline so that everything gets a happy ending, and the First Class characters splintered off into their own unique timeline in which anything can happen, which is why Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix have their own unique versions of events and characters.
It ain’t ideal, but this is essentially what I can cobble together to give the franchise some sort of coherency.
Where does Legion fit in? Answer: it probably doesn't, but it's great anyway.
I honestly have no idea what time period or even what universe it takes place in, there are smartphones and rotary phones, people dress like the 80's yet are un-surprised by holograms, and inexplicably there are giant Hulk hand baloons in season two.
but it is suggested that David is Charles' son
Why does Legion have to be cannon in the Sony Universe?
Season 1 is great. Season 2 on the other hand, is a huge letdown to say the least.
These movies don't even fit in with themselves
tommy mc ok so in the trailer when jean flips the cop cars there were in red hook. Now in legion season one there is a goverment offical who talks about the incident that happen in red hook.. new rockstars talk about the trailer breaks it down way better
Hank Pym...well done james

1-Old timeline=Charles and Eric looked like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen since the 1980s in The Last Stand.
1-New timeline=Charles and Erik look like James Mcavoy and Michael Fassbender in the 1980s. The latest we see Charles and Erik as Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in the new timeline is in the 2020s in Days of Future Past meaning they have 30 years to morph into Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
He's gave a correction
A lot of the timeline issues are solved when you realize Wolverine Origins was never in the same continuity of the rest of the franchise regardless of Days of Future Past.
You still have timeline issues, but much fewer of them in this case
You know who can fix the X-Film Timeline? Mr. Kevin Fiege.
The Infinity Gauntlet in Asgard is a great example, right?
Vinicius Tavares but the infinity gauntlet in Asgard is a fake, hela even says it herself
@@pasta8787 it was a plot hole until they fixed it with this scene, the same goes for the (Fox) X-Men, it was confusing until they fixed it with DoFP.
@@vinicius100470 Yeah you're right, but there is a bit of a difference. Hela confirms that the gauntlet was always fake, so even thought to the audience it might have been a retcon, but not for the actual timeline in the movies. In days of future pat, it was a do over, and a good one. Unfortunately, the timeline got messed up after that again.
No Kevin Feigie ruined marvel
Sabertooth is also a big continuity blunder too... I get that Wolverine does not recognize him in X1 because of the stupid memory loss bullet he took at the end of his movie, but then in X1 Sabertooth clearly dont act like Wolverine is his brother and has somehow reverted to a more feral character.
I wouldn't say that Sabertooth didn't act like Wolverine is his brother in X1. The way that Sabertooth seemed overly attached to Wolverine's dog tags suggest he still has some brotherly love for him.
Darius Peyton As wolverine and sabertooth get older their animalistic tendencies become more uncontrolled and this is the reason why in x1 sabertooth is feral and more like an animal. Wolverine was like this too BUT thanks to his metal skeleton poisoning him his rejuvenation powers are too busy keeping him alive so he isn't feral like sabertooth.
In X-Men, that guy is called Sabertooth and only credited as Sabertooth. In X-Men Origins, that guy is called Victor Creed and only credited as Victor Creed. Despite being in a much worse movie, I found Victor Creed to be a better actor

No... the Deadpool films are set in present day (probably) and the x-men that show up in DP 2 look the same as they do in the 70s/80s. So they haven’t aged at all.
In both Dark Phoenix and Deadpool 2 we see neckrings that can take away your powers WHATEVER THEY ARE. Seems like that would influence the entire X-Men universe in a BIG WAY.
Also, in _The Wolverine_ Logan loses his adamantium claws and is back to his bone claws, but in _Days of Future Past_ he's got the adamantium claws back with no explanation.
lol ikr
Logan corrects it all with that comic book quip about how half of it didn't happen. There, sorted.
Ah shaddap.
Yeah but in the that comic book we see them fighting a dinosaur man which never appears in the movies...
Amazing comment.
Yupppp.... Logan specially says that about the Comic Books.... They were created to Hype Up the XMen.. But weren't any more special than regular people in the world... The only conflicts came from racism and the military that attack and hunt these people down because of their deformities and mutant abilities....
@@tsohgallik But they fight the dinosaur man...
You fools! X-Men isn't a lazy disregard for continuity--it's a cerebral statement of the quantum multiverse theory! The movies aren't meant to represent a single timeline--nor is any one movie meant to represent a single timeline. Each scene is supposed to represent a clip from a completely different timeline from the last. Why does a kiss from Rogue kill her first boyfriend, but becomes a Denteyne Ice commercial with her second? Because they're in two different universes! Why is Emma Frost made of diamonds in the 60s and BeaDazzle in the 80s? Different universes! Why are Wolverine and Sabertooth BFFs in from the 1800s to the 1980s, and then don't recognize each other in the early 2000s? Poor writing! Er, I mean, different universe!
im gonna go with this. multiple earth, hey its done in the comics wtf not!
Nah
The last one is actually explained in a comic set after first xmen movie...wolverine and sabretooth teamup
Wolverine suffered from amnesia by the end of Origins while Sabertooth underwent a secondary mutation during the period between Origins and X1 making him literally unrecognizable. However, I wouldn't say that Sabertooth didn't recognize Wolverine because his attachment to Wolverine's dog tags suggest that he still knows him.
It's just an infinite amount of what if universes.
I’m not sure if anyone else mentioned it yet, but there is a Mutant from the Morlocks named Masque they could have used to explain Xavier’s possible face surgery.
The ancient one wrote days of future past
“This may benefit your reality. But my new one, not so much.”
Xmen: the one where Oscar Isaac is blue
You forgot about the fact that this new movie has zero implications because at the end of Days of Future Past, when Logan wakes up, everyone is there and are happy and all living in the same house in the distant future.
But magneto, mystique, and quicksilver arent there in the mansion at the end
@@themodifieds4229 That's because they forgot those mutants existed by the end.
The Logan movie also establishes that everyone besides Xavier and Wolverine will die. So no matter what stakes they overcome in the movie, everyone will inevitably die anyway.
You said Hank Pym when referring to Hank McCoy aka Beast...
It was a reference to the serum looking like pym particles
It was a joke. Took me a minute to figure it out.

Oof lemme fix one. I think that Apocalypse showed up in the new timeline bc in the original one he was killed by Sentinels before he could wake up. But when they went back and made sure Sentinels never happened, Apocalypse was able to come out and be all evil and stuff. Whatever that movie was crap idrc
Sounds plausible mate I’ll buy it

So did something else happen that made professor X lose all his hair? That's some bad luck

Psylocke was also in X-Men The Last Stand.
So was Spike, who you might remember from the 2000's X-men animated series. He was the one who fought Wolverine in the forest and kept throwing twigs at him.
Allegory
But that was the only movie he was in. I'm talking about people who were in two different timelines but are the same person. Like Jubilee, Emma Frost, Psylocke etc. not to mention Banshee died after first class yet his daughter Siryn is in X2 & X3
Psylocke is probably the only one that can get away with that. She has a history of a body swap. We can concede that she went back to the Morlocks after Apocalypse and into a younger body later on. Something she picked up from Apocalypse.
JOHN LEAHY She was the Asian girl that can move through shadows. She had the Crimson Dawn tattoo on her eye.

+1 for including Spaced clips in the video!
That was so fun just listening to you two rambling about all the inconsistencies.. And there's still so much more to talk about :D
This isnt exactly a continuity error but its so weird that in days of future past they fought to change the timeline where mutants are all enslaved but then in logan they are all dead
Ayman Siddiqui Hanks comment that you might be able to hold off the future but never change it could explain that
Sure they stopped the sentinels from wiping out mutants but a bit later they were all wiped out by the doctor guy and Xavier’s unstable mind
In the Wolverine Logan loses his metal claws but in the future scenes in days of future past he's got metal claws again
Kevin Hortachata i think they imply that magneto gave him the adamantium back so idk I mean he’s survived the metal being ripped out of his body completely in the comics so..maybe they came across some adamantium he inserted it back in him idk lol
maybe it grew back....??
Here's one: Moria mctaggart worked for the CIA in first class and apocalypse, but then is a medical professional in x men 3. That's a hard career switch...and she didn't age in the 50 years either
and in the last stand juggernaut has a british accent. in deadpool 2 he sounds like hes from NY
Also: canon changed a bit- emma frost in origins is now "emma silverfox" named with her sister/wolverines dead Canadian wife.
They didn't even need to go all the way back to first class for the Beast continuity issues. In the first X-Men movie, Hank McCoy is seen talking on TV in Human form, but then appears in X-Men 3 in Beast form, talking about how it's been so long since he's seen his human skin.
Love this Channel, keep it up guys, one of my favourite podcasts aswell👍
You guys should make a part 2 of this ^^
Mystique is the BIGGEST timeline error. She is a magneto dedicated mutant terrorist in all x films. It after first class she is professor x’s adopted sister, a hero to the mutant race, and the entire reason the X-men receive combat training. Not to mention that in the original x men films sentinels didn’t even exist yet in days of future past they not only exists but they exists BECAUSE of her and they stole her dna so they can change and shit, but adult X-men like cyclops and storm and jean have never heard of sentinels before despite them being apparently manifesting the 70’s. Rebecca Romijin’s character never once even alluded to being captured by the government and experimented upon so they can make mutant killing robots from her dna
I was always bothered that Alex Summers was present in the 60s when he's Scott's younger brother. And then 20 years later, in Apocalypse, he still looks like he's 25 LMFAO
Neat, just finished listening to last podcast where you mentioned making this video.
The Emma Frost character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine was actually another character called Emma Silverfox. I know, it’s weird, and dumb, but it’s just what it is.
Bolivar Trask.

In "the wolverine" we also see ladu death strike before she becomes her x2 counterpart. Even though it happens after the trilogy. To add to that the prequel comic to x2 even says she was sent there by silver samurai, even though he creates himself way after
I know X2 Lady Deathstrike wasn't at all true to the comics and she didn't have any dialogue, but she was one of my favorite adaptations for any of the movies.
Does it really matter though? Most of the US major comic books barely give a shit about continuity. That's why it has one character story rewritten and redraw by hundreds different writers with their own interpretations. Basically like a more legit fanfictioning.
the issue is really that they put dates on the films

Micheal Fasbender's Magneto is the only good part of these movies
There's loads of good parts, timelines are not one of them.
I love the actor who plays Professor X as well. The whole casting is actually pretty spot on imo.
The young mutants in Apocalypse (especially Nightcrawler, Storm and Cyclops) are very good as well. It's just that the movies are poorly written.
