Here’s my routine about the bizarre songs Scotland Football Fans sing. Filmed at BBC Comedy Presents at the Edinburgh Festival 2019 🏴🎶 #comingdowntheroad #dohadeer #EURO2020
it was in the programme when we played Austria in Austria in the early nineties , that the Scottish fans like to sing , so be prepared to hear the sound of music tonight. Thus the Scotland fans , started singing Doe A Deer, and its progressed from there
The reason we sing Doe A Deer is as Scottish anything The reason we sing it, and this is true, we went to play Austria in a qualifier a number of years ago and the only thing anyone knew about Austria was… The Sound Of Music Now, I’ve no idea how we manage to weed out the one guy in the Tartan Army capable of linking Austria to The Sound Of Musuc, let alone know a song… I have my suspicions but I’m going to leave them as that. We might be shite at everything, but one thing we always have is a story that, rather than regales like our Celtic cousins Ireland and Wales, leaves you saying “What the fu… that’s no true, is it? Is it? I love being Scottish 🏴
Almost right. When we played Austria we had already started getting a name for our singing and passion. The main news paper in Austria at the time ran the story of us coming with the headline there will be the sound of music tonight. The fans could only think of 1 song from the sound of music and that was doe a dear. So we started singing it that night and it has stayed
and also when we played Switzerland in Euro 96 at Villa Park we sung about one the facts we knew about them - "Toblerone, Toblerone, it's a famous bar of chocolate and it comes from Switzerland"
Can add yes sir I can boogie to the list🤣 Started because Andy Considine finally got called up to the Scotland squad. I suppose the team must have a lot of respect for him as they played that song because of the video of Andy dancing it on his stag dressed as a woman🤣
I'm going but I'm not sure about the food. A hundred types of sausage and not ones deep fried in batter! Great people , friendly, Amazing beer , been to Munich for the football. This will be epic 🏴
The Tartan Army sounded pretty fucking amazing singing it in Paris.
