    Kristen Barenborg Fantastic episode Randy Brown! Will had a great time competing on Prodigy. I was blown away by warm welcome we received when we arrived on Saturday. The local bowlers and parents immediately welcomed us to the scene. There were no egos and no attitudes. Will never felt like an outsider. That spirit of inclusivity, support and encouragement by these young bowlers is a direct reflection of your leadership and love for the sport. We will definitely be back and hopefully get some of our Charleston friends to join. I'm so glad we made the trip.
    Right after watching your critique last night, Will went straight to the center to try out your suggestions. He came home very excited at the improvements he made! Thank you!

      Oh, don't be fooled. There were definitely some egos. Starting with mine. LOL! But I'm glad you found the experience a positive one. I do try to encourage a welcoming attitude toward guests. Anytime we get a visitor to go to the trouble of traveling -- across town, across the state, or from out of state -- I always want them to feel welcome.
      Consider yourselves a part of the growing PRODIGY family.

  • @Zipwhat23
    @Zipwhat23 Před 4 lety +1

    Would be neat to see a breakdown of the bowling balls the kids are using! Its hard to spot a ball just by watching it go down the lane. Unless I can find this information elsewhere and just don’t know better. Thanks, I alway look forward to watching these.

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  Před 4 lety +1

      It won't happen. I can't keep them all straight. And even if I had a list of all the balls these kids carry, there is no way I would recognize them when they're rolling down the lane. I can barely keep the Storm balls straight in my head. (That's the only brand I throw.) No way I could possibly know -- on sight -- what all the other balls are. Not just in the current line, but from the past five years. (Not everybody throws new stuff.) It's just too big of a task to try to keep up with it. I do occasionally mention the ones I know. But even then, I get 'em wrong every now and then. It's just hard to tell what they're throwing when all I have to go on is what I see on the computer screen.

    Hey coach Randy, I'm curious during the elimination round why you don't reverse the order of the bowlers on the odd and even lanes, I.e., first bowler goes last on every other shot? Going last every time is actually an advantage in knowing what you need don't you think?

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  Před 4 lety +1

      Mr Itolduso - I don’t know if it’s an advantage to go last or not. It certainly puts the pressure on you to perform. But if it is an advantage, all the more reason to do it - to help level the playing field for the lower qualifiers to give them more of a fighting chance.

    I noticed the machines aren’t as fast like they used to be when it was Brunswick zone 😥

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  Před 4 lety +3

      Unfortunately, the machines were not well-maintained for several years, and as a result, many of them fell into disrepair. A couple of years ago, the center hired the guy who presently holds the position of Facilities Manager (head mechanic). His first priority was to get the place back running the way it should. One of the steps he took was to set the timing on the A2 machines (well,, some of them, anyway) to run slower, a little like the original A machines in some ways. This actually puts less wear and tear on the machines so they can last longer and run with fewer problems. I suspect this is why you see these machines running a little slow. We were getting a lot of 180 stops on lane 39 the day this was taped, and that's often caused by there not being a full set of 20 pins in the back like they're supposed to have. When an A2 only has 16 or 17 pins, you'll get a ton of 180 stops while the machine is rushing to load pins into the table.
