Man, AWESOME haul...thanks for sharing the show, #RetroBlasting! As yet ANOTHER b-day approaches (ugh, I remember looking forward to these things more when the numbers were pleasantly lower, ha), this is a sweet reminder of another great (#SilverHawks) b-day of yesteryear. I also remember the days of running home after school to hopefully catch the cartoon in all of its quirky but opulent glory, as well as dad often bringing me home packs for my Panini sticker book from his weekend trips to the store...always dug that! Such AMAZING times and COOL memories, for sure...! :') #BlastOn
My older brother and I had some of the figures when we were growing up. As a "joke" he bought me the Silverhawks DVD collection a few years ago. We watched a few episodes together for the first time in 25+ years and laughed our asses off. I have a deep respect for nostalgia & bringing back good memories like you do, so I bought my brother a brand-new Quicksilver & Monstar earlier this year. I'm going to give them to him for Christmas since it's the 30th anniversary of the toy line. I dropped $200.00 on that pair of carded figures, but it was totally worth the price just so I can see his reaction.
WOW!! Christmas came super early this year for Retroblasting! And all that bubblewrap! Therapy is expensive, bubblewrap is cheap! LOL. Really nice to see such beautiful toys.
brilliant mint on cards silver hawks I remember the figures never saw the tv show. big shout out to Justin. and great review michael milinda. retroblasting awesome.
Retroblasting is AWESOME! You do such a great job and I love every video! Even I get excited when your opening these mystery boxes! I aspire to do what you do! Thanks for being awesome!!
I just watched the unboxing! I'm so glad you enjoyed them! Your genuine excitement is what makes these videos awesome! It was a kick to send them off to a good home! I can't wait to see the next video! -Justin
Seeing that packaging stirred the kid in me. I received my first set of Silverhawk figures after an accident and a stay in the hospital when I was 7. Seeing that packaging took my back to the day I got those. Getting home from the hospital and having a bunch of Silverhawks waiting for me was such a great time. Great video, thanks for sharing and thanks to the donor.
The way things are going, better put in planning permission for a basement extension, other wise another move will be needed. Your videos are great, considering the constant juggling between your full time work and your Retroblasting work. When it comes to you guys, less is more. Just hope DV has not been lost in transit. All the best and thanks!!!!
Thanks so much Tomas! We appreciate your comments about understand the challenges of balancing work with RB. There have been many that didn't make this connection. - Michael
Your videos are great! Your enthusiasm for this stuff is absolutely infectious. This is born out by this video for me. I was so excited watching this video and so nostalgic. Funny thing is I had never even heard of the Silverhawks before watching Retroblasting. Somehow it must have slipped past my radar. Now I have a whole new thing to explore thanks to your video
I remember my Dad taking me to the store and getting me the copper kid figure with the working whistle. Great show and great figures. Thanks for the video!
out of control. amazing for someone to send these to you. its taken me ten years to get an almost complete carded set. you got it in a box. :-) you two do such great work, its great to see that appreciated and rewarded.
I've got a mint-on-card Steelwill (series 1). They rarely show up for sale on Ebay, but when they do expect to pay $100.00+ for one. Steelheart is even tougher to find; I've only seen a couple carded examples pop up this year and their selling prices have been in the $200-$250 range. Ouch!
*OPEN THEM!!!! RIP THEM OFF THE CARDS LIKE A SIX YEAR-OLD ON CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!!* ... sorry... madness gripped me for a moment... I'll calm down... Looks like an early Christmas pressie for team RB!
I love seeing a new video by you guys when it pops up in my feed and man I need to pickup a Silverhawks figure I remember wanting one when i was a kid. Keep up the great work guys and thanks for these videos!
Reminds me of the scene from the Big Bang Theory where Brent Spiner thoughtlessly tears a mint on card Star Trek figure out of the package in front of Sheldon.
Early Christmas strikes again! Nothing really says "we support your channel" more than "here, have some of our precious mint in the box toys!" Next thing we know you'll be getting a box full of vintage Thundercats toys... ;)
I remember wanting monstar's space squid (forgot so much about the show) so bad as a kid. However never got it. Cool seeing these figures I could never get.
Hey Mike, we've spoke on Facebook before, love your channel and check regular for uploads! I recently bought a vintage "star destroyer" from eBay, had one as a kid, I'd love you to do a review on that thing! Its the oddest ship they ever made! All the best!
Weirdest thing about the silverhawks packing is how it almost looks out of place, it lacks an 80's genetic cheese colorful styling and has a kenner star wars kind of feel, being that the color is a nice blue space feel and hate to pun but simplistic elegant design I can't quite think of what it reminds me of its on the tip of my tongue. Ahead of there time, and maybe a misguided style even though beautiful would have been out of place against the more action orientated backing of other toy lines which at the time probably shy'd most kids away from them but as adults the cleaner stylish look you know is going to look awesome on display.
Awesome unboxing. I know it's hard to upload content that's up to your standards, but I'd really like to see more "simple" videos sprinkled in (like this one). Maybe you guys could do a once a week discussion vid where you just talk about a random subject (current toy news, channel updates, the current state of toy collecting, etc.) It would be easier than you think and I know we'd all love to see more stuff from you guys!
Gotta love those minty SilverHawks! Display them proudly Michael :) also what happened to the All 80's Ninja panel from DragonCon? Keep up the fantastic work
the quality of your videos and more important you love toys you passionate for the toys and reviews just like us whit live and respect all about toys collection and that is the most important. Is not the number of person you have in yours channel is the quality of yours review and the all topics you discuss make you channel great !
retroblasting, I know that you focus more on things from the 80-90's, but I just found out on eBay that kre-o made dungeons and dragons sets. incase you don't know, kre-o makes lego based building sets, except they have different licenses and their affordable. they have some transformers sets at dollar general for $5.00 . they also make GI joe sets.
1986 An interesting time for innovative cartoon Galaxy Rangers, Centurions, Filmation's Ghostbusters, and especially Silverhawks. if the Hawks cartoon was more thought out more refined it would've been a lot better.
oh man i loved silverhawks as a kid it was a good tv show i was a big fan of bravestarr too i got the bravestarr marshals station playset as a kid i dont know what happened to it
Unrelated question, guys: I have a 3-position '78 SW trooper rifle and the motor inside is a bit dry and slow. Now, I figured out how to split my Han Solo blaster and restore the sound there to its full gallop - however with the 3-position rifle, the problem I'm running into is the arm-stock, which is attacked on both sides, which makes separating the two halves of the gun a no-no. I'm basically trying to figure out if the arm-stock is connected through the halves of the gun by a SINGLE bar (which means separating the halves and juicing the motor would be impossible - or if there's a way to remove the arm-stock from both sides without breaking it. Can't find an answer anywhere, so just wondering if you had any thoughts or knowledge on the subject about how that arm-stock is connected, so I can get to that motor? Thanks, guys, love all your videos, always a great pleasure.
***** all very good points, I only had two as a kid, the girl (no idea what her name was) and mombo jumbo I think I still have them at my parents house.
hey brother it's me again Jay just a question definitely love some of us have anything for me a tease but my question is why you haven't fixed the broken Vader yet LOL just saying I am a big Darth Vader fan.
This is what You get from creating a Sincere Toy Loving 80ies Channel...people sending stuff like this! Keep up the good work Melinda and Michael!
I am awestruck. Cherish the hell out of those! I'm fighting off that evil green monster...no, not Windhammer, but extreme jealousy.
This is amazing! Michael acted like it was christmas. Go Retroblasting community!
That is literally hundreds of dollars in vintage merch simply given in kindness, unreal! Crazy generous...

I love the genuine joy you are feeling in this video!
Your viewers really know you, that was obvious when the opened Windhammer appeared. Also it was cool to see Buzzsaw, I had him in the 80's.
WOW, Awesome! The Silverhawks are some of my most missed toys.
These make me miss all my old toys. Another great video, you exceptionally lucky man.
These were a little past my toy buying time. Cool figures. What a great mystery box!

I don't collect toys, but I like seeing others enjoy them.
I was hoping it was full of Funko Pops.
LOL!!
I imagine that the reaction would be similar to when your aunt gets you an expired coupon. You try to be nice, but you seethe with rage within.
Sorry but This is for people who eat MEAT. not drink MILK.
don't be cruel.
You're joking, right? Funko Pops are garbage!
Love you both! Thank you for your hard work!!
Wow! That's about all I can say.
You guys are the best. Well deserved.
Congrats!!! Very nice surprise.
Amazing stuff! Can't wait for that room tour. ^>^

I never had Silverhawks figures, even though it was my favorite show as a four year old, and I played with them all the time at pre-school.
One of these days its going to be an SDF-1 Playset!
I would love the hell outta that Retroblasting episode! :-)
Hey Mike, we've spoke on Facebook before, love your channel and check regular for uploads! I recently bought a vintage "star destroyer" from eBay, had one as a kid, I'd love you to do a review on that thing! Its the oddest ship they ever made! All the best!
It's amazing how you can act like a kid at Christmas, but still be so professional.
Yeah, I would have freaked out.
love the channel keep up the good work

I never knew about the Ultrasonic suits
He should have put the letter or half of the letter in the bottom of the box, so that it would be much more of a surprise. :)
The only Silverhawk I had was Flashback.
That's an amazing collection. Do you ever send figures in to AFA to get graded? Thanks for the video.

OK, five seconds into this, I'm having memories of the climatic scene from Se7en ("I have no idea what is inside this box.")
On the serious side, the Silver Hawks look great!
Tim Hammack "What's In The Box!" >:(
Whoa!
Silverhawks was never my show but Galaxy Rangers pre Power Rangers was awesome but the toyline was sad!
wow!

just waiting on the day we get updated figures of all these 80s toys. not by matty. by a real company that sales in stores.
I just subscribed because you have manors.
+TheRamrod3001 thanks. Are other CZcams channels rude?
No. But a little manors go a long way. Love the show!
So, when are you going to establish a physical museum / archive?

It doesn't look like they even ever made it to the peg hooks at stores.
Wish the figures came with the face shields
