Fun fact: Those annoying “smoke grenade” launchers on the Tiger are in-fact anti-personnel fragmentary grenade launchers, used for when a group of infantry rush the tank. Hence, that’s why they face in all directions. All of this to say, that means they’re even more useless than empty smoke grenade launchers, in a game with no infantry. Go figure!

Yeah, I didn't mind the fact that the gun has to do that whole animation when it passes...until phly mentioned that gun barrels aren't even treated like physical objects. And the funny thing about that is, of all the games I've played with tanks the only one I remember having a physical gun barrel is gta 5

Good guide is that ur corner is pointed at the enemy but tiger has the annoying headlight that do not let ur gun depress near the corners so be careful. I know my explanation is not great but there are plenty of videos on how to angle.
Your survivability is so good because you have your level 150 aced crew with maximum vitality while the others have their crews with 1.5 vitality at that rank

It's not the headlights that keeps preventing your turret to traverse without elevating it, but it's the S-Mine at the corner of the tank. The Tiger E don't have those S-Mine which makes the traverse a little bit better.

I find the thing most worth remembering about any of the panzerIV or tiger tanks is on any approach towards the enemy if you can hold an angle at or above 45 degrees you're going to be a huge headache for the enemy team, even the panzer III's are insanely likely to bounce if you play them at an angle & if a round does make it through the panzer III armor is thin enough to get that no-armor-best-armor goodness!
no idea how accurate that is but gaijin's armor meta for low to mid tier is incredibly interesting once you start understanding how to work it, I always learn quite a bit about about WT mechanics watching Phly's videos.

@@NickariusSN it's an rng tank. There have been so many times where I have shot the hull and hit the impenetrable MG but when others do that to me, gets who goes out in a explosion
When I had the Tiger1 a few years ago...WT matchmaking bias was extreme.
So I was facing T29s, T28s, IS2 Mod 1944..these 3 in EVERY GAME, and even T44 variants rarely.
I got the Tiger 2 at 6.3 hoping it would balance it out. But then the IS3s came rolling I'm every damn game.
So at that point I just uninstalled the game

When I play the tiger 1 most of my deaths are either from aircrafts or from hellcats shooting me from the side so yes the tiger is a really good tank its just that German players including but not limited to me are bad players
agreed... when I started out and didn't angle, I kept on getting destroyed quickly but if I didn't act like an idiot and hid the side plate while angling, I could get 6 kills without much hassle
When its angled..it will literally bounce practically everything. The only danger is the neck like every tank. And for the H1 the Hull is weaker. But even for the E.. its only reinforced with 2 small areas on both sides of the weakspots but they make a huge difference. I learned to angle them too so....just give it a wiggle just before the enemy shoot. Now the whole tank is a bouncer
I unlocked Tiger 1 a few years back when it was uptiered everygame, fighting downtiered T29s, T28s, IS2/Mod 1944, T44s etc...eventually I earned to bully them every game.
Flippin heck there were moments where I took a good last stand against several tanks..killing many of them in the process. This tank can take a good beating. Most shots will bounce

Even when I angle I still get 1 shotted so I theres really no excuse I play really slow too and yet I still come across people that one shot me even though I'm like far away it's just stupid if you ask me and I'm not as stupid as some players but still its doesnt make it right for someone oneshotting me from a mile away with something like a standard Sherman or British tank I've tried every angle too and guess what It doesnt work now I dont play the game mostly because I usually get into sweaty sad games for my lvl and kd it's just stupid tbh

Tiger is basically the same as sherman, but with way better armor and slightly less mobility
