- Yes, It's high time we completed our Fury series with a video made using a real Tiger tank. We're the first production since Fury to actually film with both the Sherman and Tiger! Anyway thanks to Guns Up for sponsoring this video, download it here: ggcont.me/3BqxEY7

Squire actually went inside the Tiger 131 brooooo like im too jealous of you
Yes they were
“Jolly good work chaps, that’s 7 enemy tanks destroyed”
Absolute gold, most accurate depiction of the RAF I’ve ever seen
It’s an accurate depiction of the use of dumb fire rockets during the war. You can read a lot of reported kills of tanks and armoured vehicles by all nations who used that and explosive cannons on aircraft. The main problem was that they would create so much smoke and dust that there was no way to visually confirm the kill, so they just counted it. So the paper says they performed very well, when in reality they were not that good. Reminds of that one story of a German tank that shot down a soviet attack aircraft with their main cannon, all because the attack aircraft could not pen the tank and so was more of a nuisance than a threat. The validity of the account is kinda hard to determine so we take the story with a brick of salt
@@KleinesStein ya I have read a lot about it, that’s what I was referring to, thought about saying air forces in WWII but that sounded really choppy so I just went with the RAF
@@orcabeast8006 fair enough, the RAF is easier to name and can ring bells for people who do not know much about WW2.

@@Myuutsuu85 Yes, we're well aware of the horrors of war. Doesn't mean a bit of dark humor can't exist in the world. The MG34 was indeed a wonder weapon being chambered for the full-power 7.92×57mm Mauser rifle cartridge, and was arguably the most advanced machine gun in the world at the time of its deployment.[10] Developed to provide portable light and medium machine gun infantry cover, anti-aircraft coverage, and even sniping ability. Its combination of exceptional mobility - being light enough to be carried by one man - and high rate of fire (of up to 900 rounds per minute) was unmatched ... oh, it's out of ammo! 😥
Trust the Germans to design something they don’t have the logistics to use
I don't think it had 900 RPM
he says MG42. the Mg 34, as you wrote, existed in different versions. the one most used in WW2 had a rate of fire of 1200 rounds per minute. don't use Warthunder as a reference point.
A weapon whose variant is still in use now, and that actually has to be fired in bursts due to its high fire rate as it overheats rapidly.
I mean depends on the bolt but can be up to 1500 rpm depending on model etc.
Nerdy facts that somebody may like;
At 0:40 the metallic switch on the left is for graticule illumination in the main telescope (on the right). It rotates fully, on-off-on-off. At the moment it's "off". I doubt that the Tank Museum have the relevant lamp installed.
To the left of the metallic switch you can just about see a rectangular switch. This one determines whether the main gun's firing circuit is powered by the main batteries, or the backup battery on that same circuit board.
The grey box below the metallic switch is a socket box. The gunner (Olly) is supposed to plug his headphones and microphones into it.
The item behind Olly's head is a window. The number "8" on it is part of the checklist for sealing the turret for full submersion of the vehicle. The window is sealed by tightening up two little wheels, one of which is visible.
There is a metal frame surrounding the entire front wall of the turret. A rubber strip is embedded it it. It is obviously item 2 on the submersion checklist, and you're supposed to clamp it to the front wall, closing off the gap there.
I get how Fury was trying to get a vibe of tank warfare rather than factual depiction, but let's be honest; at the ranges in the film, even the 75mm AP round would've been giving the Tiger a "significant emotional event" at the ranges they were parked at in the film. The 76mm was well within "ruin your day" range consequently.
But then again, the most realistic depiction would be the crew seeing a Tiger, getting a bit panicked, shooting it, blowing it to kingdom come and then realizing it was actually a Panzer IV.
Or even a Stug
I honestly got so mad watching that scene, its just more tiger 1 propaganda
@@artificialintelligence8328 Or a Mk IV which, in the American sector, would have been far more likely than a Tiger
Actually, the 76mm M1 wouldn't have done much at all on a frontal hit at 800 yards. It was only a slightly improved 75mm round with a bit more propellant. Not in the class of the soviet 85mm or brit 17lbr (which had near twice as much propellant as the 76mm M1 cartridge).
@@Gungho1a it's not just about propellant tho, the M1 was far longer and had much better velocity than the M3 due to the longer barrel

One thing that would make it more realistic is they almost certainly would not have faced tiger tanks, due to the fact there were about 3 confirmed engagements in the entire American sector in France.
But the movie is set in early 1945 in Germany, not France.
3 confirmed engagements of American tanks meeting Tigers on the Western Front. I saw The Chieftain talking about it and he mentioned all three as tank v tank battles.
