There was no such thing as a $1 menu at McDonald’s when I was growing up. Going there was a privilege for making good grades for the quarter. Never had a chance to eat that stuff regularly. Home cooked meals every day. Thank you Momma 😇.

My best memory of McDonald's is that when I graduated from elementary school my momz took me there (1984). This is when kids only got happy meals lol. She said to me "son, im proud of you and you can order what u want" Me being the habitual line stepper before Rick James, i said "can I have a big mac mom" and she said yes. I then decided to push my luck and say" a quarter pounder w/cheese too" . She said" whatever you want baby, im proud of you " Man o man, my best memory ever of McDonald's. Now its nothing but back then it meant the world to us, especially if you weren't able to get it all the time.
