Got to meet him a few times while on recruiting duty in the Marines and he was an awesome guy. He ate breakfast a lot at this little hole in the wall in overtown miami in the off-season and would pay for our meals. We would not bother him because he usually had "company" but he would come to us and be cordial.

Unfortunately he was on some below average teams but Carson Palmer in his prime had a pretty good connection with him. And even when Palmer regressed after his injuries he still could put up a great game. It's a shame he left when Dalton and Green were drafted. That was the beginning of some great offensive line play for the Bengals and I would have loved to see him on the field with AJ Green
