He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame
He will be one day. It will be an absolute crime if he isn’t.
I don't know if there's ever been a wide receiver who did more with less than Steve Smith
He is going to the hall of fame he is just not first ballot but his time coming he might get in for the next year
@@dreambiggmedia It's just small market bias. He won the triple crown without a solid WR2, and that season Carolina was near the bottom in passing attempts.
I agree, getting Carolina to the SB should have been enough
“Sent my family to the pro bowl. We appreciate that.” 🥶❄️
Fred Smoot at the NFL combine set the record for least amount of reps at the bench press. 225. one time. That was the story when he was drafted anyway. But he talked like Deion.
Bruh a whole fool for that lol 😆 😂 🤣 💯💯💯👏🤙
"i wont get kicked out of the game, but ill check you out with 11 receptions 150 yards 2 or 3 tds" what every receiver mentality should be
@@mr.fancypants1524 lmaooo you didn’t have to kill him like that

He Is still a panther for life, and most Panthers fans favorite player ever
HOF bound
How do you not love this guy? He always came off as so cocky and prideful, but he’s actually incredibly self aware, and genuine. Love this guy.
One time he rubbed mayonnaise on me.
He's definitely toned it down and become more mature the older he's got. I think he would tell you that too.
by being in the same division
He’s very cool
@@highmedic2351me too
Steve Smith played wide receiver like a linebacker. Just looking for problems and fearless. A true Legend.
Steve Smith was a great receiver who backed up his talk everytime.
How many dudes have scored a touchdown with a broken arm? One of kind -- I don't know that we'll see his like again.
He backed it up with all those SB rings…. Oh wait 😂😂😂
@@milesbodega2853 how many rings does Megatron have?
@ihavereservations they are still quiet hey....
@@milesbodega2853 how many did randy moss have?
I've been a carolina panthers fan my entire life. I've never seen anyone play with the tenacity and toughness he did. He was fearless and for a long time, he was the best player we ever had. In my opinion the greatest panther ever greatest receiver of that Era.
The best Panther ever 🏆
I love Steve Smith but idk about best panther he tied for #1 well offense he #1 but what about Luke?
my friend jaylon told me steve smith is a trump supporter =/
@@EyeOfThePhi who cares if he is? Someone’s political views should not matter to you.
@@TheTwizted maybe only good ppl care I guess
Steve Smith put fear in DBs every game. He has the speed, route running, hands, concentration but more importantly the competitive drive to elevate his game. He was a joy to watch for years!!
Truly 💯
He also put fear into his team mates
as a Saints fan and this dude has destroyed Sunday nights and Monday mornings quite a few times lol
He was matched up consistently week in week out vs the opposing teams #1 db
“IF YOU SEE THIS FACE THAT MEANS I SCORED”
IF YOU SEE THIS FACE AGAIN, IT MEANS I SCORED... AGAIN
ARROGANT and NOT necessary
"If you see this ugly ass face!, that means I scored".
@@BBAKER22 And?? Bro did what he loved and he was good at it. You don't have to be a good person to be a good athlete. Unfortunately that's reality
@@BBAKER22 If you don't want him to talk don't let him score. Simple.
I think what’s impressive is how consistently he showed up in the playoff opportunities he had. I’m a bears fan and I still remember how he destroyed us.
I'm surprised they didn't put the punt return from the 2005 CHI v CAR playoff game. Smith wasn't the return man but saw Panthers were losing and demanded to be put in. He then returned a punt for a TD. Dude was the best
Same, that’s when I learned who he was
@@stevealavi was against seattle
Steve was/is one of the most tenacious players to ever lace up a pair of cleats. He embodied the old saying its not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog and Steve was a dog for sure. Absolutely legendary
Um people forget about TO
@@niners2162 TO wishes he had the fight Steve had

This is A Iconic Quote from a iconic player "ICE UP SON" 🤣🤣
A 5’9 wideout whose as tough as nails that shoves defenders to show his speed and explosion
Absolute Legend. Man NEEDS to be a First Ballot Hall of Famer.
Steve Smith was my personal favorite receiver of this era because of that Panthers playoff run and he was so quick an fast and played like he was 6'8
Steve Smith is one of the most under rated WR ever!
Indeed
Steve Smith is such a great guy. A true leader with the utmost class. He really hits it off with his teammates
Agree!
He also really hits his team mates in practice. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
BS. I've been a Panthers fan since 94". The guy was never known as a great teammate. He wasn't the type to mentor the new kids.
@@thynysan right. That's why I said he also has been known to hit his team mates. Remember the 2 different fights in practice that he was in? I think he was even suspended for a game for punching his OWN team mate in the jaw.
@@thynysan Ken lucas... that was the guy he punched in practice.
I was introduced to the Carolina Panthers in 2001 and saw Steve Smith Sr catch a football for the first time and never looked back. I have the utmost respect for him as a player, father and husband. His intensity on the field has been unmatched since he retired. I was there for the ring of honor induction and cried like a child when I saw him in that Carolina 89 jersey. I am beyond blessed to have seen him in his prime and equally blessed to see him come home to Charlotte. Congratulations Steve on all your accomplishments.
One of the toughest WR ever. Moose & Smitty were a lethal combo🔥Really wish they got that 💍
Add in clutch Proehl and the original double trouble in the backfield. Sheeeesh. Good ole days. Sad to see what our organization has become since
Still have that sports illustrated with moose on the front. Saying it’s not secret the panthers are for real. I sat next to moose family my whole life. After he bought them from CB Eric Davis. Such a great family.
I don't remember where it came from but for a while he was considered the toughest receiver pound for pound. Bigger guys could block out and what not but he'd juke, out run, stiff arm, and just flat out beat the best of them. Loved that era and wish the same - such a special team.
Wish we could e gotten more years of them together
Spy gate got us remember we had a squad that year
As a kid growing up in Charlotte NC and becoming aware of sports in the 2000s The Delhomme-Smith connection was one of the greatest things to witness. They were heroes for a place that was somewhere in between a big town and a small city that didn't have many nationally recognized faces; I will always fondly think back on that mid 2000s panthers squad as the greatest to suit up (no disrespect to Cam and his incredible years)
Man what?! Delhomme, Hoover, Foster, Davis, Muhammad, the white that started with a P (forgot his name). One of the best times of my life. Then Stewart and Williams. We went crazy 💔
Julius Peppers
Steve Smith and Hines Ward are the grittiest wide receivers I’ve personally ever seen. They exemplify hard work, dedication, and intensity on the field. Most of all, you regularly can find examples of them contributing in the run game in ways other receivers either can’t or don’t.
Hines was good but he didn’t have that dog in him like Steve. Great hands
@IIESPD00DII Hines and Edelman both sure as shit had that same level of intensity.
Hines ward ruined careers. He was the reason the blindside block was banned. Also, you should watch how ed reed and ward went at it.
Steve's 5 foot 9, his attitude was crucial to survive in the NFL at his size
This guy was only a Raven for a few years but he is easily one of my favorite Ravens ever. Dude gave it his all EVERY play. Smitty is a beast...and who can forget that revenge game against the Panthers lol
Born in 93’ I grew watching Steve Smith, straight dog. Definitely a Hall of Famer. I’m was happy to hear him speak on Ocho, like it’s crazy they played Juco together.
Same junior college or on different squads?
Thanks for the video NFL Throwback! Steve Smith was one of the greatest, toughest, and most underrated wide receivers to play in this league. I absolutely loved his menace-like personality and how he got into it with DB’s after numerous plays throughout his career.
Dunno about underrated. He was always considered one of the best of his time
Steve Smith was a problem for the competition. Year after year. If you disliked Steve Smith he wasn't playing for your team.
He needs to be in the NFL hall of fame already. He deserves. Definitely 1 of the best wide receivers of all time
Damn I kinda thought he was in it that's crazy
Gotta wait a certain number of years after retirement to be eligible. But he’ll definitely be a first ballot hall of famer
WHY IS THIS MAN NOT IN THE HALL OF FAME!!!!
This was an awesome short for Steve Smith . he truly was the greatest player to play for Carolina no debate
Imagine Jerry Juedy thinking he can disrespect Steve Smith.
Bro I literally spent like 3 hours yesterday watching Steve highlights and the stuff he's been in this timing is wildly perfect for me lmao
Always loved him anyway but the most interesting jobs series was already a great idea and I love that Steve is the dude who's willing to do it
"if you see this face again... that means i... scored... again" 🤣
He was so dangerous in ‘05…..and that Carolina defense with J Peppers they were a force to be reckoned with.
I remember he shredded that Bears defense that was in the top tier defense that year.
GENUINELY don't know of a receiver who was more of a *DAWG* than Steve Smith. He even called out Anqan Boldin & Megatron....I'd throw Andre Johnson and Prime Dez Bryant in that convo too. But IMO, Steve Smith is THE biggest dawg at the WR position in the last 20 years. LOVED watching him play (I'm a cowboys fan btw)
Na b.s.
you had to see him play to fully respect the man's ability! amazing player and will always be one of my favorites
One of my favorite players growing up loved watching him play
Bruhhh his kids saying “well you know what dad? Ice up son” 😂😂
1 of the meanest, absolute monsters that ever played the game. The guy had more heart & courage than every other player on the field. A junkyard dog! Legend!!!
Dude was like Mike Tyson of WR
He brought a new toughness to the game!
His intensity/mentality during performance is exactly what's missing in major American Sports.
Oh MAN. Imagine you’re thinking about retiring, and coach sends you your scouting report. That’s some fucking fuel right there. Keep going.
By far and away one of my most favorite WR' to watch play. He put on a clinic everytime he hit the field. True LEGEND
I like his mentality.. he is a hard worker got better each season his early years. very inspiring
He's edgy but that's what made him special. He had that 'dog' mentality from his first to his last game. Like him or not, Agent 89 deserves to be called to the hall.
There will never be another receiver like the great Steve smith dude had so much fire and passion not only for the game but to prove he belonged at the pinnacle of the game. The tenacity of this dude is unmatched and will go down in history as one of the most electric plates of all time and one of my personal favorites of all time.
The 5'9 Randy Moss lol. I saw some catches where he reached over the corner to catch some passes while covered.
Glad he was part of my football life growing up! The greatest.
Jake Delhomme to Steve Smith was such an underrated connection
Nerd!!!!!!
People don’t realize that was Carolina Golden days.
Madden 02'
big fact tri lam
Steve Smith. There's nothing much you can say. His numbers, productivity, despite his size, speak for themselves. Always will be my favorite athlete. Hopefully one day, I'll get to meet him. Get him to sign my Panthers jersey. I actually cried when we cut him, and celebrated when we fired Gettlemen. Football changed for me..
Still don't get that same feeling I used to get whenever I saw him take the field in that Panthers uniform. Man. I even turned down some wild times, just to make sure I caught that game..
Steve Smith. There will never be another person like him.
Plus he never truly played with a great qb. Imagine him with Brady or Rodgers.
Greatest Panther ever right there. Dude was always raw with it. Dude was special to watch
Smith Sr's got to be one of the greatest receivers pro football has ever had ! Amazing !
“He sent me and my family to the Pro Bowl so we appreciate that.”😂 Ice cold🥶
one of my 10 favorite athletes ever
What a football player. One of my favorites
Won the triple crown at 5’9 on a team that ran the ball almost 70% of the time so when it was a pass the whole world knew it was going to Steve and he still dominated 2005 I believed he was the best player in the world playing return too he could score from wherever whenever lead the panthers to the nfc championship that’s goat 🐐 material and was consistent through out his whole career image what he would have done with a Drew brees or Peyton manning in a pass heavy offense?!?!? Numbers would have been even more insane best player I ever played with on madden he was the best wr and return man if you know you know certified legend💯💯💯
He’s the definition of love and passion for the game. He was undersized and just played with so much heart
He will always be my favorite player of all time. An absolute LEGEND. If he had a decent QB, he’d be top 5.
If I’m walking down a dark alley Steve Smith is def the guy I want by my side no cap 😂
Lol he was knocking MF’s out in training camp.
He's just talk and really just an athlete not a fighter. Don't think you want a pussy with just a mouth on your side🤦🏼♂️
To anyone who think Cooper Kupp's triple crown year last year was amazing while he was surrounded with alot of other great talents at WR with a great QB in a pass happy offense, imagine winning it with no other decent WRs with an average QB on a run first team. Steve Smith did that. One of the best to ever do it.
“So You was right, BUT you was wrong because you lined up against ME” HARD 😭💯
"If You See This Face Again, That Means I Just Scored AGAIN!!!!!" Lol 05 Smith Was A Problem
I worked for the Panthers as a Digital Media Intern so I saw him up close and personal. When I tell you he is the most intense player I have ever seen in any sport. Hands down HOF
Watching Steve Smith as a kid was everything. Then going out playing youth league trying to do everything I just seen lol 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Legend, last of a kind. Wasn’t a panthers or ravens fan but a huge 89 fan, God bless brother.
Albeit it was for 3 years, but I enjoyed watching him when he was with my Ravens.
wont be another like him steve smith is one of one. total legend
Steve Smith is one of the top 5 wide receivers of all time, the guy has clutch athleticism he was just on a whole nother level
Trash talker who backed up every word. This dude was a beast. One of the greatest ever IMO.
Surely Steve Smith is overdue a yellow jacket!! That man has earned it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Easily the best Panther ever, and a true icon of my hometown team
Without a doubt. Very close second is Luke or T Davis imo
Not a panthers fan but don’t forget about Julius Peppers either
@@rayman0091 the first jersey I ever owned as a kid was a Julius Peppers jersey, you would think I’d remember him better
Only had this man a short time in Baltimore but I can imagine the Damage he and Lamar would do sheesh
Steve Smith deserves all honors of The NFL league in his position. He balled out!❤
The dog in him, is like no other best WIDEOUT HANDS DOWN💯
Favorite WR of all time.
Steve smith is a Dawg! Much respect and hopefully see him in the HOF
He was a 4.3 guy with a 40 inch vertical. He maximized all of his potential. If I building a team I want him lined up next to t.o
As an NC native and a lifelong panthers fan i gotta say hes a legend, noone left it on the field quite like him
I BEEN WAITING ON THIS. If you don’t think Steve freakin smith is a HOF you crazy!
As a Patriots fan I can honestly say that Steve Smith is one of my favorite players ever to watch play. And is in my top 10 all-time favorite Wide Receivers list. Which is why I create him for my Patriots in madden. and when he got released by the panthers, I was really hoping he would have come to the Patriots and catch passes from Tom Brady, but he signed with Baltimore instead, which was disappointing, but he did what was best for him and his family as he noted in his A Football Life episode. Nevertheless, one of my favorites. and a future Hall of Famer.
"Ice up son" maybe the most iconic trash talk line in NFL history
That agent wasn’t ready to lose his best client 🤣
Underrated WR when we all talk about the all time great WR's. I'll take him on my team for a fact!
One of if not the greatest Panther we ever had! I really wish we could have had more time to see what him and Cam could have fully developed into. That would have made for some exciting football! I've always wondered what the 2015 dream team would have been like if we also still had Steve Smith at that time. I feel it would have been a fully undefeated year! A man can dream!!
they would never had the same connection that him and jake had.
Steve Smith is my all time favorite WR.
Die hard Falcons fan but I loved Steve Smith. Being not the biggest guy on the football team made me model my mindset like him.
Love this!! He put a hurting on my teams but I am a FAN of this man! Incredible talent...
Absolutely loving the Steve Smith content! What a guy
One of my favorite wide receivers growing up. Loved his swagger, tenacity, and competitiveness.
"If you don't think I'm one of the best, you better check your references!!!"
Steve Smith
The Allen Iverson of the NFL
Finally my goat 🐐 ice up son
I'm a simple man. I see Steve Smith content. I watch.
To this day, I still use Steve Smith's line, "Ice up son! Ice up!"
That was highly entertaining. I enjoyed watching his new show so I had to take the time machine back and watch some of these awesome highlights. What a player!
Hope he doesn't have to wait forever to reach the HOF. He was a deadly kick/punt returner as well
Good but like Chad not hall of Fame....hall of extremely good
Signed Steve Smith fan
@@rottenapplelifestyle1683 You're completely clueless. He's one of the greatest receivers to ever play. One of the VERY few to ever have a receiving triple crown in a season. 7th all time in yards for a wr, 10th all time in catches for a wr, 8 one-thousand-yard seasons, 5 pro bowls, 3rd all time in all-purpose yards (excluding RBs and career kick returners like Brian Mitchell). Should I go on? Now sit down.
As a lifelong Cowboys fan (I'm 56 as I type) and I have the utmost respect for Steve Smith...a grind it out, tough, physical player who gave 100 percent every second he was on the field. He was a beast!!
Just about my favorite Panthers player growing up. I was kinda mad when he got ejected from the 2005 NFC Championship game against the Seahawks when he had contact with one of the referees which was basically a tap on the shoulder. But still, he was one of those guys I looked to to save the game. That guy was awesome 😤🤩
One of my favorite players of all time absolute Dawg!!!
the letter to the commissioner 😂
Love this man.
In a miserable Era for Ravens fans, he was a bright spot.
I know hes a panther for life but he was always meant to be a Raven. It was like he came to where he always belonged. That attitude was perfect for us.
God loved watching this man play growing up. Being 29 now really miss watching the glory days of the Panthers.
Same here turned 29 in June. Remember the Super Bowl in 03 vividly. Broke my heart. But if you watch the patriots documentaries they said that game was by far the most physical and toughest Super Bowl they won.
