Dude ran for over 11,000 yards and made only 1 pro bowl. Most underrated RB ever. He had great speed, power and all the moves
That’s because pro-bowls are basically popularly contests.
Taylor was a damn good back. He used to give my Steelers fits.
Should be in the Hall of Fame. See my video for a detailed breakdown.
Id argue Curtis Martin but I definitely see your point.
@@RedPillin Martin made five Pro Bowls (including twice with sub-4.0 YPC marks) and is in the Hall. Taylor’s definitely far more underrated.
@Michael Jurek I agree jags suck now but in that era they used to go to afc championship like every other year
How Fred Taylor doesn’t get the recognition compared to other RB’s is beyond me. Get this guy to Canton!
Played for the jags that’s why
@@colinhawkins4656 plus Jacksonville is a small market…
He stayed injured a lot
Very, very similar career to Edgerrin James. If one’s in, the other should be as well. Check my channel 👀
He didn't talk trash, and he was respectful towards other teams!!!
Him and Maurece Jones-Drew were both incredibly under rated. One of the best backfield duos in history.
Too bad that duo was only good for two years.
One of the best RB duos ever not even a debate!
Yeah. Jack del dio was a mediocre coach.
Taking Fred all day.
The mid 90's to 2010 might have been the best generation of running backs in the history of the NFL. When incredible athletes like Fred Taylor can put up 11k yards and a highlight reel rivaling anyone in the league and STILL be underrated makes the case for me.
Totally agree. A lot of his better seasons there were still a few running backs that were a little better.
Like he was great in 2002 but that year in the afc there was Ricky Williams, LT, Travis Henry, and Clinton Portis. Also Priest Holmes too.
Hell yeah and when they had those behemoths in stroud and Henderson lol
@@jeremykrause9443Ever think that was because he had two amazing WRs and a great QB? Not need to lean hard to the RB.
@@jeremykrause9443 Portis and Travis Henry aren't on Fred Taylor's level.
If Fred Taylor played for a large market team, he would have been a HoFer a long time ago.
Facts
Exactly. I seen players that accomplish far less than what Fred Taylor, Jimmy Smith, Mark Brunnell, and Kennean McCardell and still got into the HOF before these guys, just bcuz they played in a bigger market than these guys. That's why I don't respect the HOF anymore. The HOF use to be the pinnacle fraternity, now its just politics, biased, nepotism, shitshow of a circus. Sad of what it has become of it.
no doubt
@@mcwhitela2 you have literally zero evidence for this.
Why does it have to be large market team to be in the HOF? Football is football. No, matter if you played in New York or Jacksonville. Fred Taylor and a lot of other Jacksonville jaguars played against the best, competed against the best, had great games against the best, and defeated the best of best nfl had to offer during their era. Now, they can't get in the HOF just because they play in a "smaller market?" That sounds biased as hell. That's not football, thats politics! Sad bro! Btw, Green Bay Packers play in a small market, and don't seem to not have any problems getting their players in the HOF.
His career is the definition of where you land matters.
Yea because 95% of nfl fans are casuals....every true fan of the game knew of his talent in college dude.
Barry Sanders played for the Lions y’all.
@@humblebeginnings8328 and Fred played for the JAGUARS
It’s the lions, one of the first teams in the league. And he’s also Barry Sanders
@@mheppal lmao. When I was younger I thought the Jaguars was one of the fake teams on madden
Fred Taylor is a Hall of Famer for sure!💪🏽💪🏽🏈🔥🔥🔥
I grew up in the Fred Taylor era..and boy did this man do damage. That whole Jacksonville squad was nasty and one of the best expansion teams EVER. Mad salutes Fred.
Fred Taylor was an absolute beast
This guy should have a yellow jacket.
How the fuck ain’t Taylor in the HOF ? The highlight real of film alone should be enough.
They take forever to induct players in the hall of fame smh
Fred Taylor is one of the greatest RBs of all time. No dispute No question. Give the man a gold jacket already.
Facts
Concur
No sure about one of the greatest ever but he deserves to be in the hall of fame no questions
@@nottodayimbusy7146 if all the guys in the early 2000’s like Lewis or Holems can get a chance I see why not with this guy. Dude has the stats longevity and highlights, he just played in a small market and didn’t get as many pro bowls
@@rd9669 I agreed you don't have to convince me I said I think he should be in the Hof no questions
Fred Taylor's jump cut is the best I've ever seen.
Adrian Peterson
@@NoLimitDirk not even close -- mad respect for AD but ssstooop playin'
Fred Taylor was an absolute beast. The definition of “complete running back”. Speed, power, and could catch the ball.
He is the perfect RB.
💯 best all around back .... most underrated for sure , real deal
Fred is a Hall of Famer
Most underrated RB ever. His running style was so beautiful with his explosive cutbacks.
He was the complete package running the ball. Size, power, agility, breakaway speed. He could run through you, around you, or past you.
Yeah them cut backs was awesome
It was so smooth
I didn’t see one cutback, he did make a lot of jump-cuts.
Underrated power
He's definitely the most underrated RB in NFL History. He needs to make it to Canton this season.
People forget Fred was 225-230 running a 4.2. Him outrunning Rod Woodson @1:24, who also had incredible speed, is a perfect example of that
Rod Woodson was old as fuck already so he didnt have his prime speed
@@ernestogastelum9123 he was still faster than a lot of DB’a in the league even at this point in his career. He was like Darrell Green the way the aged in the league
Fred Taylor was such a beast! Him and Maurice Jones Drew were one of the best running duos in history.
They both have more rushing yards than Terrell Davis...
Facts
@@ross.2003 Maurice will be in soon enough
Unstoppable madden package in 08
To call a shotgun play with fred on the left and maurice on the right...mike Thomas wide left and Dennis north cut wide right
Didn't they go for like 400 against Indy?? 😂
He has 1 pro bowl but has seasons with 1500 plus yards and 12 plus touchdowns with 66 TD and over 11,500 rushing yards he really is the most underrated player
I got the opportunity to meet Fred at a football camp in Jacksonville as a 12 year old boy. This was back in 2005 when he was still in his prime. I was definitely star-struck at the time, because it was my first time being in the presence of a football legend. What a guy.
Freddie T. Always gives people their flowers on his show the pivot but he deserves his flowers 💐. Fred Taylor was a great running back
all those 1500+ yard seasons and only in '07 he got a pro bowl nod? def underrated. Fred was a beast on madden too!
I was just telling my son how beast he was on Madden
thats because they were a lot of great RBs in the 2000's which made it harder for him to get a pro bowl
NFL 2K on Dreamcast, too...lol
Bruh fred was a beast on Madden 2000 I remember being like 10 11 years old playing with the jags. Jimmy Smith was a beast too
Fred was a beast on madden. I was like 7 runnin all over my pops in madden with him.
He has one of the longest highlight videos ever.. Extremely underrated
The transition from Taylor to MJD was gracefully executed. That’s how you treat an all time franchise player!
What an amazing back. Speed, power, footwork & body control, contact balance, patience & vision, burst & explosion. Just amazing.
Madden created RB
He really did put up a show for the world of football, respect to that man.
Definitely a HOF love seeing him on iamathlette
Definitely not HOF. Super underrated tho
HOF easily!

@@wipe919 Damn Wipe why you gotta smoke all the weed 😭 pass that shi around bruh 🤣🤣🤣😂
@@ronnz5844 ok how is he a HOF? Just because he rushed for 11,000 yards doesn't automatically make him hof bound.
He definitely is one of the greats! Adrian Peterson ran like him.
Great Player even better person. The AFC was loaded with great RBs during his career. Lack of pro bowls and all pros will hurt his case. But I hope the hall looks at the longevity and more importantly the eye test and he gets in.
Taylor had a better career than guys like Priest Holmes and Clinton Portis in terms of longevity. But their primes were just so much better. Not to mention LT, Faulk, Corey Dillon, Warrick Dunn, Jamal Lewis, and Ricky Williams. Absolutely loaded with star power
@@FecalMatador I disagree completely. Priest holems.and Warrick Dunn no...but LT I will admit had the better career

Taylor had exceptional acceleration and would hit the hole at full speed. Definitely a game changer.
I was so pumped when I received his jersey on Christmas morning from mom and dad. I would wear Fred and Brunell jerseys every week!
The first time i ever watched him, i fell in lobe with the team. As a kid in Arizona, being a Jags fan didnt make sense. Fred Taylor was the first jersey i ever got. Ill always be a Jags fan and i will always advocate for this man to be a hall of famer.
Dude seems to be very humble like you could just sit down with him a pick his brain 🧠👍
You're absolutely correct. You should watch him on i am athlete.
He’s on The Pivot podcast now
I am a proud Jaguar fan because of this man no matter if they never win a super bowl.. Fred Taylor made me a Jag fan for life
What a classy, humble and awesome guy, played the game right. Definitely underrepresented. Definitely HOF material.
Running backs were just built different in the mid 2000's. You had to be extra slippery, all the great ones shed tackles in such a unique way back then.
Facts
Facts bro. Now most of the players who would be great RBs are playing WR or QB instead
@@DaggerMan11 that's early false.. there are a reason the top running backs are ranked the top running backs.. they are in the right position.. I do agree that the talent in other offensive positions has improved since that era but yeah there were better running backs by far back then
@@mobomba6206 the top running backs are playing their best position, but that doesn't mean that players who become WRs and QBs wouldn't have been better running backs than those top running backs. Which current running back would be better than Deebo Samuel as a full time running back? Or Kyler Murray. Or Tyreek Hill.
Conversely, look at how effective a thrower somebody like LaDainian Tomlinson was. Clearly he had a talent for passing the football, but he got pigeon holed into running back because of his body type (and because running back was still considered a premium position at the time). If he came up now there's a better chance he'd have become a QB.
@@DaggerMan11 yeah debo Samuel would have been a great fluid running back... Kyler Murray would've been a Barry Sanders type.obviously not on the same level and Tyreek would've been a monster.. as far as LT.. idk he may have just still been a running back because I haven't seen him throw enough passes to say he would fair well at the qb position but you could be right. Excellent video by the way Fred, it's still very fun watching your amazing runs and receptions, and lets not forget, your many touchdowns. Good job bro. NFL it's time, MR. Taylor, you have earned it, Hall OF FAME recored all over it
I’m a die hard Steelers fan. But this guy gave my team trouble every time we played them. Definitely much respect to him man. He’s a humble dude who played the game the right way. And physical as hell with good power, Vision, balance, and sneaky speed. He was the total package coming out the backfield.
Fred was a top 3 back for a long time. Great power, speed, smarts.
Fred Taylor:
An absolute machine on the field!...
Fred was one of the BEST BACKS I'VE seen. He could do everything as a back. He is definitely Mr. Underrated. Its great to hear his story in his own words.
Another solid RB that doesn't get the recognition he deserved. The Man was a Beast...
As a Jags fan Fred is a monster. Deserves a spot in the hall for sure
I will never forget that monster game against the Colts, Fred and Mojo where something special.

The only reason he’s not in the HOF is the same reason Jimmy and Tony aren’t either. People just like to hate on the Jaguars.
Man Tony not being in the hall is a crime
@@ChawletMelk he gonna get in eventually and I’m not a Jaguars fan at all, I’m a raider fan but he definitely deserves to be in HOF.
Definitely not the same reason.
Tony career being short while being a LT for a left handed QB is a real negative.
Jimmy off the field issues will always be considered even though they shouldn’t be.
People do hate the Jags but that’s not what’s holding these guys back.
Definitely not the reason he’s not in the hall of fame. His one pro bowl doesn’t do it. And why does he only have one pro bowl? He was never top 5 in rushing yards in any season. Not even his best season.
Taylor is the reason I respect the jags(not that they care, keyboard warrior)
But no joke. Used to pick them on madden in late 90s early 00s they were a good team
Really underrated was so good !!
Freaky Fred couldn’t be contained 💯💯💯
Fred Taylor beastmode we need more like him
One of the most talented gifted backs the nfl has ever seen.
MJD and Fred was such a underrated Duo!
Always loved watching Fred Taylor play. Even as a lifelong Steeler's fan, Taylor was just a machine. They definitely don't make RB's like that anymore. Man deserves to be in the HOF
Jacksonville legend. Florida LEGEND. HE IS THE MAN

Seriously underrated running back!
Fred always had Talent since growing up same hometown played against each other he was a fast big running back head injuries but came back from them but overall he was a decent tough running back definitely underrated but that's my boy peaceful living his life muck city for life 🏈
Fred Taylor, was beasting out there.
All the guys that say he didn't get the recognition he deserves, I agree completely! My favorite type of back, no wasted movement and he out ran a bunch of high end dB's!
Uncle Fred!!!! Top Notch Most Definitely should be in Hall of Fame!!!
Such a great guy. I always enjoyed watching him play. Such a great rolemodel.
Fred on madden 06 was a MONSTER
One of the most consistent backs to ever play the game
I’m a Jags fan! This upload pleases me.
Fred Taylor is. HOF RB, no question.
The way he runs, his upper body is always moving like he’s ready at every second to juke or truck somebody.
Fragile Fred!!! When he wasn't hurt he was a beast!!
Ya it was strange the older he got the more durable he was like that playoff run in 99 he had a bad hamstring
It's crazy how he and MJD aren't in the HOF. Both have more rushing yards than Terrell Davis, played longer, and had better personas. Growing up as a Jags fan MJD was the one bright spot of the team for the most part (will always be a fan). People truly don't give enough credit to them. The HOF needs to do the right thing.
Put him in the hall of the famer. Fast, dominant, great stats, and a key component on a team that made it to the playoffs multiple times
As a Die Hard Jags fan ... Freddy T is the best all time player we have had so far ... He had all the skills and he proved that he was not soft or injury prone.
#GoJags
Put him in the hall already. My all time favorite NFL player
You see my video on him? 👀
Anyone who doesn't think Fred Taylor should be in the hall of fame needs to watch every second of this video. This guy had everything - speed, power, elusiveness, vision, balance, pass-catching skills. He has the career numbers, you can watch these clips of him making other future hall of famers look silly, you see him stand out in terms of what he could do with the ball in his hands. Give his man his gold jacket like he deserves!!!
Fred Taylor was SO good. Absolute legend of a running back that's been criminally underrated. I'm a lifelong Jags fan and miss watching Fred run. You never knew what type of insane plays he was going to make and they seemed to happen almost every game.

He didn't have blistering speed lol but he had decent speed with great balance and great feet. Amazingly underrated back
@@trinidad510
You better go back and recheck your sources. Seriously. He was blistering, he outran corners and safeties found out the hard way the angles they took didn't get the job done.
He was, absolutely blistering. He ran a lot between the tackles, so the traffic necessitated jump cuts and footwork, not just north south, but he turned corners at will and was gone, if the play sent him that way.
I've watched Fred Taylor since his high school days. All thru his Gator career, and into the pro's.
He was run way too hard, but held up a long long time.
I've worked out QB'S for Urban, at Florida, run D-1's for tryouts all over the state of Florida and many SEC , ACC schools. Have been close to pro levels since the early 70's.
