I watched Jamaal his whole career. He made it look so effortless almost like he was gliding out there on the field. The highlight big plays are amazing but I was also always impressed with his yards per carry average. He wasn't a barry sanders type who'd get 15 carries for 113 where one run got him 80 of those yards. For Jamaal he almost always churned out intermediate positive gains. When it was the 3rd quarter he would have 100 yards on 14 carries and it was largely his ability to slip away from a tackle and turn a -2 into a plus 6 or 7 which he would do over and over and over and over again.

I'm a Chiefs fan and I remember going to the playoff game against the Ravens with some friends who were Ravens fans that year the Chiefs had Thomas Jones and Jamaal. I told them, "Every time we give the ball to Thomas Jones instead of Jamaal Charles, that's a gift for you guys."

One of my favorite Chiefs ever That unbelievable acceleration & effortless 'extra gear' speed. Underrated toughness. I vividly remember the near 300 yd coming out party in Denver (at the end of a forgettable season). That endzone dance 🤣🤣🤣 That reception game against the Raiders!!! Too bad about the seasons lost to injuries. I do wish he had more time to play for coach Ried. KC 💛 YOU JC#25. It was hard to see him suit up in a Broncos uniform, but the man wrote a thank you letter to KC on his way out that was printed in the Star. Class act. Thanks for all your hard work & for the great memories.
