  • We're taking some space in our Japanese yard to start a garden, and this garden will be a fun hybrid of American and Japanese cultures. Along the way there are a number of setbacks, but in the end the garden really turns out lovely.

    来日10年おめでとうございます。あっという間でしたね。

Be careful of planting mint. It will take over everything it's nearby. It's also rather hard to get rid of it from the garden. My mom taught me to only plant it in pots! Looks beautiful though. Great job Ruth! 🎉

Wait, Sarah doesn’t like bugs anymore?! 🥹 A lot of videos ago, I remember you guys took her to a small adventure to catch bugs and she loved it. She’s a big girl now ❤

I can't wait for Ruth's channel to go up. I'm a mom of 3 young boys, 4 and under. I'm also excited to learn more about her baking skills as a beginner myself. ❤

If you ever have trouble with your garden soil getting very compacted and your plants not flourishing as they have in years past, plant daikon! It is a drilling root plant so it will break up the soil for you and if you cut off the tops and leave the root to break down over winter it also adds nutrients back to the soil.

I love gardening, too. I also loved homemaking. You seem to thrive in both tasks, Mama. We find joy or dread in what must be done; it's the same as choosing gratitude or grumbling over life's trials.

    ママちゃんの家庭菜園楽しみですね。これから蚊に悩まされますから、蚊取線香が必需品となりますね。パパちゃんの早い回復祈ります。
