New ACE Exclusive Blackstone 36" Griddle With Hood & Bottle Opener

- Blackstone recently teamed up with ACE to bring an exclusive griddle to you. I've heard some folks say that they only buy outdoor equipment from ACE and refuse to shop at Walmart's Garden Center. Hey, it's still a free country (sort of, huh?). If ACE is your place, then today is your day...
Blackstone just sent me the brand new ACE-exclusive 36" Griddle with Hood. Today, I'll unbox the griddle (I won't bore you to sleep though) and we'll take a closer look at the impressive new griddle. I'll also show you where it's the same AND where it's unique from other Blackstone's on the market!
06/17/2020:
Here's the deal, folks. I DO NOT WORK FOR ACE. Apparently, ACE put this on a killer sale just after my video was released. I'm told they sold thousands and sold out in under two weeks. I heard they got a second shipment in a month or so later and those also sold out really quickly. That's all I know. I do not work for ACE. Contact ACE for purchase and/or ordering questions.
Thank you for watching. God bless you!

We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables czcams.com/users/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press. This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.
That's why I like Blackstone griddles they are always coming up with new ideas !! I have the pro series 28" 3 burner it's great !!! 👍👍👍
Awesome setup Todd, getting mine delivered next week. Thanks for sharing
Love Ace.. Griddle looks awesome. Keep up the great work!! TGG
Just Purchased this today. I get my new Griddle on May 9th, Cannot Wait.
Got mine in on july 3 in tulsa, that I ordered and paid for on May 4.....took awhile but wait was worth it..... outstanding, flavorful cooking!
Great griddle! I just got the Adventure Series combo 17" griddle for my Birthday and I love it. I can definitely see a 36" Blackstone in my future. Keep it up double T. 👍🏽
Hi Landry - I am excited to hear that you got a 17" Griddle for your birthday. That is a very nice gift! I appreciate you watching. Stay tuned for more & God bless!
Love watch your videos. I got my blackstone apron in the mail today, lovin the style of it.
So excited just got this yesterday for mother's day can't wait to start using it.
Congrats on the new griddle!!!
Thanks Todd. Helped me today to pick this over a traeger pellet grill.
Looks like I have a decision to make now on my first Blackstone. I had my heart set on the Air Fryer version but this one might do. Thanks Todd!
Julie - Thank you for watching & subscribing. I'm glad you found my channel. God bless!
WOW - looks great ! !
Just ordered mine from my local ACE!! Couldn't wait for the first cook video!! Lol, everyone be safe and take care, from Michigan!!
@@shanew7361 Yeah, I got it back in March!! The fam and I absolutley love it!! I can't compare it to a gas grill because I've always used charcoal. But if I had to compare to charcoal the only difference for me is you don't get the smoke flavor from the charcoal and wood. But in one of Todd's videos he uses a liquid smoke which I found at Walmart that works great. I actually just put it up for the winter. But I see plenty of Blackstone users jamming on it through the winter. I'm just not one to grill, smoke, or now griddle in the winter!! Lol, but trust me.... if your thinking about getting a Blackstone, take my word for it, they're definitely worth it!!
@@shanew7361 I got mine for $299, so the price might drop. I honestly haven't had any issues with the wind or keeping it lit. But I use it under my porch, so not sure about an open space. But the lid should help block the wind, and I know they sell Blackstone wind guards. Not sure if they're compatible with the ACE exclusive. Trust me, y'all will love it!! Great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Makes you feel like your getting down at a Coney Island Restaurant bro!! Lol, my wife said the Blackstone turned me into a chef!! 🤣🤣
Todd, Great video. I ordered mine today for my husband for fathers day.!!
Hi Jennifer. Thank you for watching. I hope your husband enjoys his new griddle. God bless!
I really just want a hinged hood like this one. I have a 36" blackstone but cant find a hood like this that I can purchase individually. Love your videos and all the tips and advice you've given me thus far on my blackstone cooking journey! Keep up the good work!
Hi Scott - Thank you for watching. I really appreciate it! Hoods are not available to purchase/retrofit onto old griddles. The older griddles were not made to hold a hood Or to withstand the weight displacement of having an open hood. You can purchase many models that were designed/come with an attached hood though. I hope that makes sense. Again, I appreciate you watching. God bless!
I just got mine! The warehouse is totally empty. I called around to every ace within 30 miles. Found a store that had ordered some. That are supposed to arrive on the 28th, so I went and ordered and prepaid for it today. I got it for the sale price of $299 plus tax. Extremely excited! It took a lot of my time. However, it is worth it! I would suggest calling stores in your areas. First time watching your videos . Love that you're not afraid to say God bless!
Sweet!!!!!!!!!
By any chance do you know the SKU or unit number you called referencing to? They keep giving me the standard unit number not this model
Yeaahhh I think this is gonna be the model I go with lol so many different kinds out there but this one seems to have just about everything you could want without throwing in the extra extra stuff like the fryer and warmer. I’m good with this one! Thanks for the info!
Picked mine up Thursday. Absolutely love it
John - That is sweet. It's a great griddle. The little changes in detail make a huge difference. Enjoy your new griddle. God bless!
@@praisehisawesomename you as well! I've had it for 5 days and have spent probably 6 hours on it cooking! It seasoned beautifully, I have been holding off for years because I wanted a 36 inch with a hood only. Never needed a deep fryer or air fryer (already have them). When I saw this in an add last Thursday, I literally left the house and went straight to Ace! Took me 40 to assemble... Bottle opener works great 😉. Stay safe Todd!
This video SOLD ME. watched it this morning and went to my local ACE and got it 👍 can't wait to break it in this weekend
Insane deal. When I made this video I didn't even know that they were going to put it on sale this week. At $399 it is a great deal. At $299 it is a downright steal. Enjoy your new griddle!
@@praisehisawesomename and top it off the guy at Ace gave me %25 off accessories!!! Scored!!!! I've done tacos and breakfast and man the made about the best pancakes I've ever had
Almost perfect design. We bought the Range Combo because we wanted the attached hood and the 36s at the time didn't have it. We move our griddle before we cook and I love that the Range Combo has the low shelf for the propane tank. If I could store the tank on this, it would be my perfect Blackstone.
Just bought mine on Friday. Love it.. Have cooked all meals on it since..
Sweet!
Nice looking griddle. I really like the magnetic strip & new knobs.
It is a very nice griddle!
@@praisehisawesomename Wish I had the room for something like that. I live second floor of a apartment & have a 17 inch Blackstone on my balcany. The older one with grease catch in front side part of Griddle. Thinking of upgrading to 22 inch.
Was going to buy the one at Walmart until I saw this one! And it’s on sale what a deal!!! Gunna order it today and get it on the 8th can’t wait to own a griddle!!!
This is a great unit. I think you'll really like it. Thank you for watching & happy griddling!
Love it brother!!
Hi there Hows it going? Hope all is well. We love your Blackstone griddle. And the E series. Love love. Thank you
So that's what was in the big truck looks great blackstone nailed it again
Thank you for watching!!!!
Todd! I assembled my new 36" Blackstone last night. My only issue was finding the one M6x16 bolt for the paper towel holder. There was an extra bolt in the M6x12 section of the hardware pack. I'm assuming it was one of those but the last 4 I had did not fit. I will look at it again tonight to see if I can find the missing bolt ... Can't wait to use my griddle this weekend.
Someone just told me about the blackstone griddles and the only thing i didnt like was the lack of an attached hood. This unit might be exactly what im looking for.
Question- Can you use a grill box on this and will the hood close? Also is there a half griddle half grill accessory?
Thanks for the information and great videos.
Hey Todd! Love your videos! Just picked mine up today from Ace in Blackshear, GA! They said they had sold a bunch of them today! This will be my second Blackstone!!
I can't believe they put it on sale for $100 off this week. It was a great deal at $399. At $299 it was a downright steal. Enjoy your new griddle. God bless!
Todd Toven my initial season went great! czcams.com/video/79okWNjaCQ0/video.html
Todd Toven also did some egg roll in a bowl after the season! czcams.com/video/qybtyyn3kXk/video.html
Todd, what is the correct cover to use for this griddle since it has the side table and lid? Got it a little over a month ago and use it almost daily. We recently rented an Airbnb with an outdoor kitchen and Blackstone griddle. It was an old model with no lid and front grease tray. These new models are a huge upgrade compared to the older units.
WOW, that's amazing!
For what it's worth, if you live in the DFW area, Ace Mesquite has one. I know because I just bought the 2nd to last one. I was told by several other stores, they won't be in warehouse until 6/17.
With all of your decks, what do you do about grease spillage? I may be upgrading my deck to Trex and don't want anything spilling on my new deck!
How hard would the be to breakdown/remove/fold legs to move it?
😲 ... looks like ima be in the Doghouse for a bit, Heading to ACE!! 👍🏼🤙🏼
Least you eat good in that dog house
Is there anyway to keep the lid up when its a little bit windy so it doesn’t slam on you when cooking on it?
Is there any way I could order that right shelf ? It looks to be the same as the one on my air fryer combo griddle but with a magnet. I just would like both sides to have a magnet, if possible. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing! I just order mine
I like ACE because they deliver and set it up.
I’ve seen one with the cutting board and trash bag attached to side shelf. This one doesn’t it. Is that one a different model?
For first time seasoning, can you use the blackstone griddle seasoning & cast iron conditioner or do you have to use flaxseed oil?
I bought the 22" last year for my RV when camping would love to get this for home. Don't see it on the ACE Website. They have other blackstone but not this package. When is this available?
Just wanted to touch base with you wanted to wait for the Ace special but my wife got me a Blackstone ProSeries 36 inch from Walmart yeah baby well thanks getting back to me love your videos
Can you quickly remove and stow the hard cover on this ACE model do you know? Like you can on the similar Lowes version?
Bought one from ACE today but it has to be delivered to the store. The price point was really decent. UPDATE: I like this griddle. Already 4 cooks into the griddle. Breakfast this morning was sausage, bacon and pancakes. From start to sitting down to eat including a full cleanup was 45 minutes. Learning how to cook on this griddle will take some time to set heat to optimize the cooking.
I have this same griddle station and I love it
todd can you help me i have been trying to order the ace griddle and know help they said they could not help.....i'm trying to order it....
Hey Todd, awesome videos!! Have you fired up this new Blackstone ACE exclusive yet?? Looking forward to the video.
Amen... like the PTL at the end. We need more of this. Had one of the first “Blackstones available from Sams Club about 12 or 13 years ago. Had to “burger 300 bikers for an event and it did the job A++ Now retired and getting ready for a 22 ‘ for the camper. Retired and saving my money to get “back in the Blackstone game”. Thanks for great videos. Dan Lakeland, Florida
The link for the new griddle says item not available...
You are the Vanna White of grilling! Love it!
Hey Todd, I am looking into a griddle. Is there a model number for that blackstone griddle? Thanks
My seasoning seems to flaking off, when I scrape to clean it off the seasoning comes off. Please help what am I doing wrong
Purchased this same griddle yesterday based on your video. I need to assemble tomorrow and season. Looking forward to cooking on this baby!
Where were you able to find it? Ace Hardwares around me not getting them until September
Mike Howard hi Mike! I called ACE in Phoenixville, PA. Initially their rep, Mike, checked his stock online and said there weren’t any available, but then said “let me check something “. He got back on the phone and said there were two out back in their storage. I drove out and picked one up. Assembled today and if the rain holds off will be seasoning and cooking up dinner tonight.
@@Lancer1157 now that is a good call.
@Lancer1157!! I called the Phoenixville Ace 2 days ago based on your response.. They had one left and they held it for me!! I drove nearly 200 miles this morning from Long Island to pick it up. I assembled today and just finished seasoning. Looking forward to breakfast in the morning! Thanks for posting about “your Blackstone guy”, Mike at Ace. He helped me too!
Frank P That is fantastic! So glad it was still there and they held it for you. We are loving ours. I joined two Blackstone FB sites and try to get photos up every now and then. Have fun!
Hey Tod, hello from my family here in Maine to yours, just curious what that cooker is in the back ground in the beginning of your video please, thanks and keep on griddleing
There are several units in the background. Perhaps you're looking at the old Blackstone Patio Oven or the Cookshack SM028(off to the far right) Smoker. God bless.
Heading to ACE this weekend, "Ace is the place...." griddle here I come.
Check online@acehardware.com to make sure your store has it in stock. If not, just get it shipped to your store for free

@@praisehisawesomename Hey Todd, I just checked around online for my stores in Ohio and none of them have this, and they want $137.00 in shipping fees to ship to my house. Will they ship to a store in Ohio for free? It's too late to call tonight, but I'll call them tomorrow. Didn't know if this was maybe a regional thing not available here.
Thanks Todd for your seasoning, cooking and cleaning video.. I received my ACE grill today. Following your instructions it turned out beautiful!! Steak stir fry first meal cooked. I cant believe I never looked at the "griddle" instead of the standard gas grill. Griddle Life Forever!! I did notice after cleaning that I had grease spatter on my wooden deck. Ill be getting a rubber mat to put in front of grill. PS..wear a apron also..lol
Hi Charles - I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your new griddle. That's EXACTLY what happened to me. I had propane and charcoal grills from all the major names in outdoor cooking. When Blackstone sent me my first 36" Griddle over 7 years ago, it BLEW MY MIND. I literally sold or gave away the other propane and charcoal grills and the rest is history. Yeah, a mat could be a good investment as when you're cooking stuff like stir-fry, the spatulas star flying along with the food. LOL. God bless!
Just got mine today at ACE. Sales this month $299. A “C “ note off!!!
I'm from Canada and I'm looking to get this exact Griddle, since it's not available here... Where can I find one in the states if I can cross the border?! The one of the ACE website doesn't show the bottle opener, not sure if its the same one.
Good looking griddle
Jut picked this up yesterday at Dicks Sporting Goods. What cover would fit this best with the side shelves folded down?
I’m in Inland Southern CA and the mid-June date seems to be correct, for now. Hopefully I can wait that long! Love the more durable tool holders! 5/27 update. My local store checked today and all 400 at the warehouse and his 4 are spoken for and we may need to wait for the next container shipment to come in. Looks like end of June or July here. I couldn’t even get on a waitlist...bummer! 5/31. Was able to order in person at my local Ace....thanks for the advice, everyone. Now, I just have to wait.
Do you have a SKU for this grill? My local ACE hasn't heard of it so they don't know what to order.
I’ll try to get ahold of them tomorrow and let you know.
Getting mine tomorrow!
Love it!!! Blackstone Todd
I notice the hood right away got me interested.
Will the 36" GRILL BOX ACCESSORY work with this?
Pros/Cons of attached hood vs. hard cover?
Does anyone knows why the propane hanger is not included in model 2151EU? I’ve ordered this grill in Germany and the holder was one of the main arguments as i have to move it always before using.
Where did you get the 36" cover?
Managed to find one at my local Ace. You know if the blackstone natural gas conversion kit works with this model?
Hello great video. Would you say this one with the hood is better than the 1866 which just has a hard cover?
Suggesting that one griddle is better than another is definitely a matter of personal choice. Hard Covers were invented first. A year after Blackstone came out with the first Hard Cover in production griddles, Blackstone came out with the first attached hood in the griddle industry. I recommend an attached hood any day of the week over a hard cover because hoods can be used for cooking, steaming, etc. A Hard Cover is simply for protecting your top, you can't cook with it/use it for steaming etc. it's only a form of protecting your griddle top when NOT IN USE. God bless!
I have this model. Which cover will fit best?
CN the side shelves be folded when the propane tank is mounted? I see these being sold at Dick’s sporting goods these days and not Ace. I wonder if Dick’s bought up old stock?
Looks like Blackstone needs to start working some overtime, looks like they would be running like crazy trying to get these out the door seeing as so many of us want one. Lol, first one I saw was the pro series 3 burner exclusive for Walmart and couldn’t find one with the 3 burners, then I found your video for this exclusive AceHardware 36” with the Hood and can’t get one. For real Blackstone crank up the machines.
Now to decide between this and the pro series; like that the hood attaches to the frame instead of the griddle.
When does it come out?
It's already on the market. AceHardware.com
Mannnnnn. I’ve got to get one of those. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Great review. I bought a 36" er, with lid, from Walmart 3 weeks ago & LOVE IT! Do you have a warehouse for all your Blackstone products Todd? Lol
Hi Gayle! Good question! No, we are blessed to have 3 levels of decks on the back of our house totalling about 1,000 square feet. Having said that, I don't hoard them. In fact, I gave 4 griddles away already this year. In this video, I had a bunch together since I was assembling and seasoning a few of them. I'll dispearse them around the other decks and some will be in the garage ready to go out on location, etc. Congrats on your new griddle. I appreciate you watching. God bless!
Where do i get this version in canada?
Hey Todd, I just ordered this from ACE today! Does Blackstone still make the propane to natural gas conversion kit? If so, will try to convert it after it arrives from ACE.
Yes, of course. Buy it at BlackstoneProducts.com or just Google it to see what other sites you can purchase it from. God bless!
Todd do you have a part number for that grill. Its what I've been waiting for but don't see it in the Ace web page.
8037617
Do you know where I can buy this hood/lid? I want to add this to my 36"
What is your opinion on the grease pan on the back, especially if you’re cooking near your fence?
Hi, Marco. I've been cooking on a Blackstone for 10 years and have spent the past 7 years cooking full-time for Blackstone, for the most part. I cooked for many years on the old front grease and have now cooked on the rear grease since it was invented 5 years ago, or so. Rear is obviously the way to go. It's patented. It changed the industry. LOL, since it's patented you will now see every other GRILL manufacture who's trying to get a piece of the pie all have a completely different grease hole location. If you're cooking with something behind the griddle(fence, house, etc.) you'll obviously want to have a Hard Cover or Hood to protect those areas. Just move your griddle out to allow for either the Hood or Hard Cover. I hope that helps!
@@praisehisawesomename thanks for the response. We have a fire blanket type thing to keep our fence from warping because that’s where our bbq grill is now. We are considering replacing it with a griddle. I was wondering if the grease container would also be hard to access. Thanks again.
@tTodd do you prefer the hood versus hard cover, what are the big differences of why you would choose one over the other?
That is an interesting question. The hardcover came out a year before the 1st hood, so it was amazing. We always needed a hardcover commas of the hardcover was out of this world. It was selling out the 1st year comet everybody bought it. It was a life saver. However, The hardcover is it he meant or able to be used for cooking. It is to protect the griddle. You can't put it on top of the griddle like I basting cover or hood to steam food well food is cooking. It is for Protecting the griddle when not in use. Everybody has different opinions, now that there are both hardcovers and hoods available on some units, I would go with a hood. However, if you're looking to spend less money, the Walmart 36" griddle with hood is only $297 or so. Hoods are great because you can use them to steam food, etc.
Question do we know if the 36 in stand cover will fit on this? Or should we us the large universal cover or the pro cover? Thanks
Hi Mike - This is the cover that fits the ACE model the best: www.walmart.com/ip/Blackstone-Rangetop-Combo-Griddle-Cover-Fits-Up-to-68/894245386
God bless!
this is really nice may have to upgrade
Question Todd. Is there any requirements to maintain the bottom of the griddle other than typical cleaning such as seasoning?
It's up to you, Tim. I've set up, seasoned, and have cooked on well over 100 Blackstone Griddles. I have never once seasoned or treated the bottom. Having said that, some people insist on it. I had one guy who told me he spray paints the bottoms of his tops with high heat paint. This is certainly not necessary. The only way I'd think it would be necessary would be if you're one of those folks who buy the griddle and put it in your backyard and only cook on it once or twice a year? Perhaps if you lived in a very humid place and only used it once or twice a year, I guess you might want to. Otherwise, if you use it on a regular basis, you should have any issues with the bottom of your griddle top. No harm in doing it if you want to though!!
Todd. Humidity in general is not much of a problem in south central Pa but that’s good information to know. I currently have a typical gas grill where I lay my cast iron griddle to cook on. I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on buying a Blackstone until I watched your clip on the Ace Hardware model. Brother that’s the ticket so I’m getting mine this wknd. Thanks for all your great information and grilling tips. Also I appreciate how you end your videos on a positive note. God bless you as well.
Tim
Measurements assembled? Wanting to hard mount it so really looking for width without the shelves
@Charleston Music Dj it’s just over 36in long by 20 1/2 in wide
Is there a cover that will fit it?
Just picked mine up today! Gotta find a cover for it!
www.walmart.com/ip/Blackstone-Rangetop-Combo-Griddle-Cover-Fits-Up-to-68/894245386
This is the cover that fits the ACE unit best. God bless!
This may be a stupid question but can you close the hood for cooking like you would a traditional grill or is it solely just a cover?
Hi Brandon - Great question. The HOODS are to use for cooking(steaming foods, melting cheese, etc.) and for storage unlike the Blackstone rectangular Hard Covers which are designed only for storage and not for cooking. Thanks for watching. God bless!
@@praisehisawesomename Can the hood be removed?
Looking to make our Blackstone purchase, we are narrowed down to 36" 4 burner pro series with hood from Walmart(has the drawers or this the 36 in 4 burner with hood Ace exclusive. Any opinions on which one to go with pros and cons over each other?
Hi, Michelle. Good question. It comes down to cost. The Walmart 36" Pro Series that you mentioned is a WAAAAAY better griddle but it cost a bit more. If you're looking to save a few dollars, go with this model which is sold at ACE, Dick's, etc.
I heard the side shelves really cant be used due to heat on pro series, is that the case with pro series or with all griddles? Also i heard drawers get very hot on the proseries so have to be cautious what store in there? That would eliminate pro then obviously i like the storage capabilities of utensils not running back and forth, is it better to save the money from pro and get the Ace and maybe get a prep cart?? One more thing i heard hoods/metal flimsy in walmart ace more sturdy? Anyone have experience with this? I know i want a 36" 4 burner hood cover
Hello todd you said that black stone is coming out with a fifty inch griddle and have you heard anything. Awesome video and information on the griddle thank you again hello from texas stay safe and good travels
Hi Stefan. Blackstone IS NOT coming out with a 50" griddle. I literally have typed this over 100 times this year (LOL). They made a prototype. I cooked on it at a show. They decided not to manufacture it. I appreciate you! Thanks for watching & God bless!
I was able to get one at my local ACE today. Sounds like the warehouse is cleaned out but they had some on order already due in mid-June. They let me buy one at the sale price and will let me pick it up when it comes in. Even though it is no longer on the website, call your local ACE and see if they have some available.
What was the sale price?
@@MrAndrewTripp $299
I recently saw a 36 inch griddle from you guys at BJ'S that has a front storage shelf mounted under the burner knobs. Do you know if that accessory will be sold separately?
Hi Evan - That is a BJ's exclusive. That shelf is SWEET. At this time, it is excslusive to BJ's. I don't know whether or not it will be available elsewhere in the years to come, but for now....at least for this entire year, that is a BJ's exclusive. God bless.
Yes, that shelf looks so handy for spice shakers and squeeze bottles. It has a magnetic strip on it too. Thank you for the response, God bless.
Todd what cover works with this griddle?
Hi there - The 36" Pro Series cover available at Walmart is your best bet. Almost a perfect fit!!
The grill sold out so fast it is no longer available on ACE's website! Glad I got mine before they were gone! Breaking it in this weekend.
Aaron West I missed out. But maybe it’ll come back around...
Totally stoked I jumped when I did a week ago. Had no idea it was limited, absolutely love this thing
Did my first full meal on it today. Smash burgers, mushrooms and onions, Smashed potatoes. It is truly a whole new way to cook. Will use it 10x more than I used the grill.
What is the model number for this griddle?
Model #1899
Anyone get their backordered Blackstone yet? I was told June 17 but rumor had it they night come in early. I haven't talked to my Ace in a couple weeks.
Ok thank you sir please let me know when it comes out thank you again stay safe love you're videos
