- The angry neighbor saga takes a turn towards a close as we strike an agreement to remove the remaining stem. What would we discover when the stump is revealed the geriatric “Arb” Crew comes together again for the takedown of this now semi famous tree. Come along for a somewhat relaxing morning of banter and see what we discover in the stump. Don’t forget to visit

Happy to see that tree come down. You were right two trees. Be careful up there.
Just wait til you see the stump grinding next week. Really cool discoveries. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
@@GameofTrees So the angry guy gave you permission to remove his tree?
' You were right two trees.' Two trees that are mechanically linked and counterbalancing each other. Don't bet on a jury not finding against you if you destabilize the other tree. Not any different than if you do something else to your property that destabilizes and damages someone else's property.
Even if you leave the root system, you've still obviously removed the huge weight that worked against it, and counterbalanced against the other tree.
The 'two trees' idea is about having two trees merely grown together, and they're considered separate for the purposes of killing one and removing it. That legal idea isn't likely to save you if you crash that other tree into someone's house when there's an obvious mechanical danger brought on by removing only one side.
Just think of it this way, if you cut that side down and it eventually fell on and killed someone, it wouldn't be 'an act of God' or similar. It was something that was or should have been easily foreseeable by the arrangement of the trees, and you didn't take appropriate measures.
Fine enough that it was fixed, but it is certainly not the 'not our concern'. Even if you have 'the law says it's separate trees for purposes of killing our tree', you can still be held responsible for 'blatantly negligent' in other aspects. 'Obvious, basic, mechanical problems' created falls into those other aspects.
Don't expect a jury to actually let you off if you do something this ignorant and it causes someone else harm.
And you can bet somewhere in the contracting/licensing etc, there is some mention about creating undo risk for others or similar ideas. My first thought if someone did similar next to me would be to have my lawyer look at getting their license yanked.
If they're legal, they almost guaranteed signed documents that basically say 'we won't do obvious crap that might put other people at risk'. Basically any licensing body will have that sort of CYA wording somewhere, so they can blame the licensed party if they harm someone's person or property.
It's interesting how many homeowners are unaware that power companies often offer free tree removal services when power lines are in close proximity to the trees. A simple phone call is all it takes. Inform them that you recently received a chainsaw as a Christmas gift and you are confident in your ability to safely remove the tree without affecting any power lines. They will dispatch a crew to take down the tree at no cost to you.
That’s funny 😃 might work, but if the trees have 10 feet of clearance they say, “we’ll put the lines back up if the tree falls.
@@GameofTrees It works as intended. If the tree's height is higher than the powerline and it's within falling distance of touching it, they discourage any Paul Bunyan-like behavior.
My local power company, Excel Energy, sent two trucks out and dropped the service line to my dads house when I told them that I was going to cut down a tree that would have to fall across the lines. Once I dropped the tree they hung the service lines back up. Didn’t charge a thing.
The reason for taking the tree down was storm damage. But I don’t know if that made any difference.
Lol. Thats a great idea about the chain saw gift. Quick respionse. Right.
I called about this very issue with a tree that is over the power line from a pole to my house as well as one near my neighbors. I’m fact, the power pole is 20ft from the tree and the power company refused to do anything about the tree. I guess they don’t care about the transformer or the pole which leads to the elementary school and the entire block. 😂😂
I never really considered myself afraid of heights, but my heart is pounding just watching this from the perspective of your GO-PRO up in that tree! I could never.
Thanks for the video, I miss working for a tree service. I was part of a team during the Dutch Elm Disease era, and we took down a few trees amongst homes that were easily 10' in diameter. On one particular occasion, we were downing a massive Elm and the largest, man it was huge! The tree was located behind a house about 20' from an old brick garage. On day 2 of dropping this tree, we were almost done and had about a 20' butt left, and it was huge. My boss was cutting the bottom, to fall the butt, and it took a good half an hour, and he it finally fell it, and when it hit the ground, it slowly rolled towards the brick garage, as we watched in terror! The top edge of the butt caught the very corner of the brick garage, and it then slowly rolled back towards us, and in the process had hooked the very corner of the garage!! As it rolled back towards us, it raised the corner of the garage about 3'!!! We thought for sure the garage was about to be destroyed, and then it happened! The log then rolled back, this time towards the garage, and ever so gently, laid the garage right back down, and you couldn't even tell it had been lifted!! WOW!! The End : )
That’s an awesome story I am sure to re-tell😃 thanks for that!
wow
Wow
Oh wow... That's crazy bruh
Guy wanted free tree removal in the beginning and he got it in the end. A better man would have taken responsibility for his compromised tree.
It has not returned void on me.
You are 100% correct. Sad, I know. Good people always bear more of the burden, but that will never change.
And... an even better man, took the high Rd and came out looking like a champ. Says wonderful things about his character.
That would linger on my mind an heart to not pay you something for this work.
Our neighbour actively avoids human contact. Our maple was WAY over her yard. Guy came, cut it back from within our yard. Pulling all debris back to us. She skulked in the kitchen watching. There will be no talking! I still felt obligated to do the civil thing and remove the branch.
Im am 60yrs old and have dropped and trimmed alot of trees, watching your videos makes me realize what a novice i am. Good job
Thanks Mike! We post every week:)
Amazing tree work and you avoided damaging any of those electrical service cables, the sidewalk, the driveway, the fence and the original client's garage. Well done! I hope the videos bring you business and if I were in your area I'd definitely call you.
Check out the stump grinding vid, really cool discoveries czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.html
Look at the Right hand face of the stump, it's like an old man's face sideways on. LOL
The silhouette in the tree stump of an angry man, on the angry man’s side….😂
Who says trees don’t know?
I know! Right? 😀
Came in here to ask if anyone else thinks maybe that tree was mocking it's property owner!!?? Lol
59:; Spot on ! I wondered if any one noticed that and came to the comments to see if any one did.
Not so much angry face, thought. More of a comical one mocking and laughing the angry neighbor to scorn.
Seems to say "See, I told you so !"
PS The "angry man's" nose is indicative of people like that !
I remember the conversation with the argumentative neighbor (with his boat in the driveway). I need to go back and watch the video of you trimming the tree for the nice neighbor. 😊
I literally watched the other video minutes ago, then the YT served up this one… instant closure!
Kudos for offering the narky neighbour to complete the job and close the loop on this story.
PS Hope the not for profit is doing well.
Love the banter between you and the crew, feels like any of the projects I've ever been involved in with family & friends. It always seems like hard work such as this brings out the best in hard-working types when we're all busting butt & getting stuff done. Very cool to see this my friend.
Thanks Charles!
That’s awesome I watched when they climbed my tree which was humongous. They started at eight and was done at four that’s how huge my tree was. Job well done! Stay safe
Thanks Darlene!
Watching the stump it looks like the side of an old mans face w long hair. Weird. Hard work man. Blessings!!!
I thought it look like a happy troll :-)
I love your attitude. Instead of complaining, you just joke and learn from your mistakes. '... I can't have nice things...' haha
What to do? 😃😃😃
Loved watching you work and listening to the explanations.
Thanks, Nancy !
I am an 81 year old lady. I wish you would hurry up and get that tree down. I want to live long enough to see it come down. Lol
😂 you and I cut two hours out of the video😂
That's cute 😍
That's 😍 cute
If anyone disputes the cost of tree removal, just point them to this video....no questions after viewing these hard working folks.
Thanks Dorothy!
Lots of old people hit the gas when they meant to brake. "New boots" lol.
Grear video as usual, I learn something every time. Thanks
New boots! That’s my story, I’m sticking to it😂😂😂
I have rather large feet such that it I can press on the brake and depending on how squishy the pedal is my foot will also hit the gas
Each stump has a face … tells the story of the two opposing sides 😂
😂
I hope your leg is okay. Expensive day for you. Your good turn will be rewarded. The cross cuts of those stumps would be beautiful side tables. 😊
Leg is fine, the day is returning well for us:) all is well!
Great video !
Great job again !
👏😀❤️
Wow…. I’m in awe! Can’t imagine doing this as a career! Awesome videos!
Thanks Jean.
Awesome Kevin!! Really happy you decided to do this! 👍
Thanks Marshall
Very entertaining, thank you guys enjoyed you all.😊😊
Thanks Christine
did ya notice....at the 28.44 mark...you gave that face a smile? 🙂 Good video. Great job. And well done on getting rid of the owners discontent!
😃 well I’ll be going back to look now.
Thank you for sharing this video.
God bless
I never drive with boots on for the reasons you stated. I aways show up and leave a job in my slip on shoes…keep up the good work Kevin!
I’ll remember that😃
Same here. It's a pain to switch out when it's raining and muddy, but still rather do that then deal with smashing the truck.
What a beautiful job you did
👍🏻
OMG I remember this! The guy was upset because he didn't want the storm damaged tree cut down for this very reason. Looks like he turned out to be right and his tree ended up being cut down anyway. Funny how he was the "bad guy" before for having good foresight.
You might have missed this one:) he was upset because he wasn’t getting his tree taken down for free. What I said about the tree ended up being proved true, and in the end, I took his treat for free to free him from his bitterness :-)
Also this one. czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.html
@GameofTrees I just went back and re-watched the "Harrassed by neighbors demanding tree removal" I stand by what I stated. He you said at (10:07-10:17 in that upload) that "...nothing I do to this tree over here is going to do anything to the tree that's remaing" but it did and he was right. I get that the guy is a cheap ass and inconsiderate but that was exactly what he was afraid of.
@@Tibor716it didn’t do anything to the remaining tree removing the other side. Nothing at all. So the angry customer was incorrect and the tree was still standing for him to remove it over a year later so the guys foresight was wrong.
You guys are amazing and skilled. God bless
Thank you, Kathryn!
These guys amaze me. Ppl don’t realize what it takes to remove a tree.
Thanks, you might also like this about the stump czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.htmlsi=Fmnok5gVVtBs6ffb
Great video guys , job well done 👍
For sure a great video. Big tree cutting is always dangerious but you handle it well.
Oh. And ya sure. Blame it on the new shoes. Thats my story and i'm sticking to it.
Thank you for sharing this video.
God bless
Thanks, yes, that’s my story :-) I’ve actually have one arborist collaborating with me, saying it took him a couple of weeks to get used to those boots. :-)
Appreciate you putting in this work. You were right.
👍🏻
This is why we have driving shoes. Work boots go on when you get to the job and go off before you leave.
No doubt Haix don’t drive well.
Indeed! Use the right tool for the job I always say. Goes for everything in life. Lol
Awesome video sir. Glad to see u climbing without that lift. Lol. Wish I had 1. Bsafe sir.
Thanks
Nice job. Dangerous, 1:02:39 but you made it look easy. New boots, dang costly being stiff. 👍👍
I am 75 i climbèd for ma bell in CA in the 70s, we were t h e first female line man class .
I watched you strap those on and remembered the pain in my calves . I had the flu on graduation day and pictures for
Magazine day jackets and up and down was something to remember
I just took some down on my land this past winter
That’s awesome Mary! Thanks for sharing that.
That’s great that your still getting after it.😃
Wow. Lots of great video of the grassy sidewalk and yard. You sure know how to make a great video of cutting down a tree. Congrats! 🤪
czcams.com/video/x7o08Hz1nos/video.html&feature=sharec this was the only video I could find on your channel and it’s funny of all the comments on this video that has nearly a quarter million views I don’t recall a single one critiquing it in your manner. Thank you for noticing what no one else did I’ll see if I can’t improve :-)
I remember actually watching this when you took it down 18 months ago so this is cool to see
Yeah, I was secretly hoping I’d get to take this down, here’s the stump video that had some interesting fines as well. czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.html
Gotta love a guy who quotes Pride and Prejudice while he works!
😃 thanks Muriel
Hey, saw the first video. Saw this one by happenstance, so, just had to watch out of curiosity. Dang if it wasn't 2 trees just like you said. You know your tree stuff. So, to make sure I catch the next one I subscribed. Guess you have a new regular viewer now. 😁 I have grea.t respect for you guys going up in trees. One of my mom's brothers was a "trimmer" and we lost him back in 1974 from a work accident. He was up in a bucket near some power lines, and the guy driving the bucket from the ground put him right into a power line. Lot's of mistakes all the way around that day.
Stay safe. Can't wait for next week to see what you find underground.
No need to wait until next week, it’s up 😀 czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.html
First thing I noticed on the right side tree stump was the Face. Wild!
Yeah that was crazy:)
Awesome video Great work !
Thanks William!
Every tradesman is responsible for their own tools. You are doing a great job. But, that old saying still stands..😀🤘🤘🤘
We have a job board with magnets of all crew members and trucks and equipment. One magnet says Kevin’s Gear😂😂😂 I didn’t make that magnet, but I earned it😂
Enjoyed watching the video 😊
Thanks Randy, did you see the face in the stump at the end?:)
I've been waiting for this video.....Mr Hamm 😂😂😂
👍🏻
People like that will never be happy.
Not even for all the free work.
They’re happier right now:)
Just saw where August dinged up his truck. It is catching. Nice boots.
Glad I’m not the only one😂 I love the earlier commentor though, saying that a lot of old people hit the Excelerator instead of the brake😂😂
I hope this beautiful maple tree goes to people who can mill it down and make tables or other things with it. It was straight and gorgeous. ❤ I didn't see rot or insect damage at all for how old it was.
Pieces were too short.
Awesome job
Thank you Rose!
Nice work
What a strange ide?The roots will pop up!😂never heard of.
That guy is an absolute tool and completely undeserving of your kindness, but you did it anyways because you're a good person. You're better than I am. I'd cross my fingers that the tree came down on his boat.
😃 Thanks for watching Molly.
Combat the bitterness with kindness
I could never live in a place like that. Oh yeah good Job.
😃
Would be nice to see you grind the stump down and see if the roots are interwound. Very interesting tree.
We’ll look here:) czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.html
The karma wheel is getting adjusted standby please
😃
Regardless of how many tree there were. The neighbor on the right side is responsible for removal.
Until I accepted responsibility:)
Small crane truck will make the job much easier.Even cherry picker will save you tons of energy. But if you want some fun, climb on it.😊
Amazing job....wtg
What a great table could have been made from a slab of that!
High likelihood of cracking and it was two trees:)
surprised the neighbor let you use his driveway to make the job easier, people can be sooo petty sometimes when they don’t get their way and love to make things miserable for all.
We were doing some tree work for an old guy years ago and his neighbor had said we could use his driveway as their backyards were on different streets but they backed onto each other’s. As soon as we were driving into his yard,he came out yelling and calling us names. We parked the truck and tried talking to him and he threatened my ground man with violence,we laughed it off so he walked inside and called our company yelling at the receptionist telling her we were threatening to beat him up😂. It got worked out but the poor old man that hired us felt bad because the guy did tell him originally that we could use his driveway but then flipped the other way when we showed up 🤡
yes now its two stems. but it looks like to me that the rotten part in the centre was the core wood of one trunk and the one stem split into two with a now rotten centre remaining. the growth rings tell the story best and theres not two defined growth rings at the base cut as far as i can see. the weather would get into that rot a lot easier if one remained. so you di a good thing to remove the whole lot and technically there was now two defined stems or trunks. good job,. thanks for the vid.
After you cut the stumps down to the ground, did you see Mortimer Snerts face in the stump on the right side? That was pretty cool, I hope you saved a slice of that face. 😂
😂
I was reading the comments to see if anyone else noticed the face as well, before I mentioned it😂😂plain as day
Is that an elder tree ? I have at my parents house and its splits three ways . I have a cable wrapped around them to hold them together
Norway maple
the stump on the right has a FACE !!! lol
👍🏻
The Grass is Bulging, and looks like a huge dirtball!
I can just hear Kevin singing when he's up in the tree....
KEVIN
I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night, I work all day
THE CREW
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and works all day
KEVIN
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatory
On Wednesdays I go shopping
And have buttered scones for tea....
LOL 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Well, buttered bacon since I’m eating carnivore lately 😂😂😂 very creative, thanks for chiming in😃
Love Monty Python
I wonder why those houses are flat on top.
Different stems possibly. However, there are no roots where the two stems meet up. I have had this happen at my house where one stem fell during a storm. Since there were no roots in the center where the stem was located, the other half uprooted and fell over about a month later. This would be the same thing as it looks exactly the way my tree looked before both stems fell down. No roots in the center to hold the stems in place and began to separate, just like this one is doing.
You need to watch this video of the stump. czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.html
We thought my son in law paid too much. $900 to bring a tree down. Now seeing you, I understand why. It’s a hazard to your life. I wouldn’t want to climb that high. Thanks for doing that service for us!
Thanks Cindy
Well done, sir. Very impressive. Man ,that's an ugly dude on the right tree stump.
Thank you
@GameofTrees there is an outline on the stump of the tree that you cut that looks like an ogre. I wasn't making a comment on any person in the video. Just made for an interesting anecdote.
Sounds like he want it removed for free!
How do you learn to drop a tree branch from a rope and be able to estimate where it swings with almost absolute certainty? Is it just years of experience or is there more to it? I can guestimate where something would swing but I don't think I would be able to ever to do it as safely as you lol. You guys segment trees like surgeons. Definitely appreciate what your crew does and those like you
Calculated assessments and years of seeing the variables….and guessing wrong😂 thanks for watching and for the comment 👍🏻
@@GameofTrees That drive way would have tree branches sticking out of it if I tried this haha, and thanks for replying. Cheers and take care
Yep
Two trees!!
Just wait til you see the stump next week:)
You're damn good at what you look at the right side of the stump looks like a grumpy old man check it out I have the eyes and nose and the mouth
The face is cool
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thats awesome, I watched the first and the grump neighbour, that's karma 😅😅😅
Thanks! Here’s the stump, it was fun for me:) czcams.com/video/H9y-PW7t3oY/video.html
Maple chunks can be worth good money if cut to the right length. for guitars and violins . i think 4 foot chunks.
But to find the buyer :-)
@@GameofTrees just google guitar/ violin manufacturers . its worth way too much to burn or throw away.
I had the same issue with those boots. Took about a month before they were broke in enough to safely drive with them on
Thank you Joey! You don’t know how comforting a comment like that is after someone said, “don’t worry Kevin, lots of old people hit the accelerator instead of the brake.” 😂😂😂
Call into the office 866-596-5396 Name, Address and Size and I’m sending you a T-Shirt:)
@@GameofTrees 😂😂 awesome! Thanks a million! I'll likely call tomorrow.
@@GameofTrees they are really fantastic boots though. I think you'll love them even more once they're broken in
I remember this conflict a long time ok. Glad to see this resolved to everyone's satisfaction. So the neighbor still didn't chip in and pay for his side? Everyone wants a free ride.
BTW, never move a vehicle with the door open. You could have broken your leg which is way more valuable than your nice truck. You know that now.
😃 till 11. Yes he still got a free ride but I got the video :-) and thank God I didn’t break my leg.😃
How much weight can the straps with carabiners hold? on big pieces do you use A thick rope and not the straps?
The straps are $6,000 pound tensile. We tie direct with the rigging rope on larger pieces. Sometimes I will double the straps. Always maintain awareness of your rig weight with a log weight chart. Available in a phone app.
I have never heard so many big words and technical terms used by a tree trimmer. I guess I will have to buy a "Game of Trees Tech Manual" to watch this.
Ha 😃
👍👍👍
This video wa one hour of pure entertainment.
Thanks for coming along, we post every week
Won't hire you to cut my trees hell not even to cut grass lol what a joke
I’m all right with that😃
Cars not to smart it didn't make it to full growth. 🤣😅🤣😅
😃
I was in an accident I rear ended somebody. People laugh when I tell them it was my shoes that caused the accident.
I’m telling you😃
I would move that corvette on the street!!!
All was well:)
I want to see the stump grind on these trees ❤😊
This coming Sunday at 5:00 AM the stump grinding is posting. It’s a clinic on tree physiology 😃
Great job.
I see a man's face on the right side of stump
I wish I would’ve seen that the day I cut it off that would’ve made some good footage of😃
Those property lines sure are crooked. I prefer living somewhere that the lines are rectangular or square.
My client had a rectangular, the corner was a triangle, the angry neighbor has a square:)
Sorry about your car. But No Good Deed Goes Unpunished 😂 I’ve lived my life under Murphy’s Law myself.😂
Thanks Cecil! I take it all in stride.
You are my candidate for Man of steel with balls to match.
😃
Yea, you had me until the comment 'the root ball is fine. Will not just pop out, etc...' My old neighborhood had a storm come though and, a few trees with a single, about twice + the size, root ball and all just pull up bringing up the sidewalk and curb. No lean, no nothing. Straight. Houses were built in late 40's. Some of the original trees. Yes, I saw it myself. It happens. It totally does happen. I may have picts someplace... can't remember what type of tree they were.
Absolutely it happens but it is rare. “Reasonable degree of probability” that is what we must live by in the world of trees. With a lot of rain, and a wind out of the east over seventy miles an hour and maybe it happens. Not likely, and I was right😃 czcams.com/video/Rz4ZbRglSkI/video.html here’s a walnut with a south west wind. Very rare, but devastating.
That looks like some nice wood for the wood stove.
That’s about the extent of the value, I think it went to someone with an outdoor boiler.
Great job. I always watch when I have trees cut/trimmed in my yard. The height part makes me dizzy with vertigo, but love watching. You proved him wrong. I hope he apologized to you and was embarrassed. He should have had you take the whole thing down when you were there. Was he so angry that he had called another tree removal to trim the side left, I may have heard wrong.
That or he somehow hacked off a bunch of branches himself:)
💚👍👍👍
