The Angry Neighbor Stump Tells the Truth

  • I’d love to tell you I told you so, but this might be your first time watching :-). In the original angry neighbor video, I made some pretty definite statements about the nature of these two stems that they were essentially separate entities. It won’t take too much reading of the thousands of comments to discover many people disagreed with what I said. Those people, I am quite sure, have never stopped to look inside a stump. This is not the first time I’ve stopped to look inside of a stump, and it likely won’t be my last because of the practice of stopping and observing trees, and the inside of trees when I was cutting them and inside of stumps when I was grinding them. The best classroom is in the field doing the work. All we need to do is to pay attention and take notes of the details. The seemingly provocative statements that I made in the original video are proven to be true in this video. I truly had a lot of fun making this video.

@@GameofTrees Honestly, I don't even think the argument was about whether the tree was one or two entities; I think the neighbor was just using that as a convenient excuse to have an argument about how they can have it both ways: they avoid responsibility about the fact that their tree is posing a risk to the client, but then they expect you to assume all the liability for the problem they refused to address.
I mean, if they wanted to come at this from a position of righteousness, it should've been them calling you first to help out their neighbors, and then if they had a concern about the other tree, they could've had you take both as a package deal. Instead they acted like scumbags, and the only reason they even tried to have an argument about it is because the other tree was OBVIOUSLY a danger and they knew it had to go.
I get a real strong NIMBY factor coming from the two of them, and I suspect that while I'm sure they have no problem with halfway homes, they probably don't want one near them, and I suspect that's the tension between the two properties.

Im glad you made an effort to make angry neighbor (AN) happy. You get an A+. AN gets an F. 1. AN shoulda taken responsibility for the tree from the getgo. Instead he left it up to the garage owner (GO) to act on the danger of the split tree looming over his garage. Im sure AN was just hoping it was gonna fall any minute so that GO’s insurance would take over. Im curious what AN told GO…”naw Im not gonna cut that tree down, Imma leave it just like that…it’ll be ok”. Im sure AN and GO arent friends to this day. I wouldnt speak to AN ever again over this. 2. AN tried to get you to sign some bogus declaration of responsibility, in case “anything in the future” happens to his tree. What a legal crock of 💩. Cheap bastich. 3. And then when game of trees (GOT) went back to view the situation, from a public sidewalk 18 months later to see if the tree shifted, AN said some pretty ugly things…because GOT had called out AN’s bull💩on youtube. And btw, AN’s hack job on the tree during those 18 months looked like 💩. AN shoulda just left the tree alone after GOT cut it, and it woulda looked ok.
So in hindsight, I wouldnt have gone back and cut AN’s tree cause he’s a DH. But I get that GOT was looking for goodwill, as well as closure, as well as the final answer if those two branches were separate entities supported by one root system, and cutting one didnt kill the other.
    Good job GOT.

Around 28:20 - 31:00, you keep repeating that the folks who thought the dead tree would "invade" the living trees were wrong. Clearly, you know so much about tree behavior that you've forgotten what it's like to not be a tree expert. What seems kind of obvious to me (someone in that latter, more ignorant, category) is that they are conflating "dead tree" and *diseased* tree. They are imagining the tree died of a _disease,_ and that the _contagious disease_ will tend to spread into the living neighbor.

You look extremely petty in your quest to prove yourself right. What's worse is your attempt to be the better man in this situation is nullified because you are exploiting this for hits. Dude .....
