Old School JIF Peanut Butter Commercial - Choosy Mothers Choose Jif

- An oldie JIF commercial with two women gabbing about how great JIF tastes over the "other brands". JIF is pretty good, I must say, although we typically ate Peter Pan in my house growing up.
I love old advertising and believe these commercials have historical significance in our consumer culture. I'm posting this for educational purposes. You can find more commercials on my CZcams channel or at www.bestoldcommercials.com - Zábava
As a dad, I only give my kids Jif. They tell me I'm one badass choosy mother.
James O'Connell lmao 😂
Hey dad - you win this thread!
It has always been Jif. Possibly people are transposing Jif an Skippy. : )
Or the cornbread mix called jiffy
No it was jiffy I clearly remember it being called jiffy
Jiffy! I actually did a local commercial in 70's with my mother. They gave us a ton of "jiffy" merchandise. Lunch box, thermos, magnets, cups, t-shirt, kite etc. I know it was Jiffy. I'm just now learning this is a thing. I'm actually here looking to see if I can find that commercial now. Also, learning that the ending of "we are the champion's" song is no longer there. "Of the world" isn't part of the song anymore. Crazy!
Or people getting mixed up with jiffy lube 😂
@@dakprescott7656 you clearly remember incorrectly. It was introduced in 1958 as Jif, and had always been Jif. It was a made up word unique to the product that was easy to remember.
i read the comments. glad to know i am not the only one who knows it was never called jiffy. it has always been jif. i am aware of the mandela effect and i remember those changes. this is not one of them. people are confusing it with skippy and even jiffy pop popcorn.
I grew up with Jiffy and remember it as clear as day.
When was this? I grew up late 60s/early 70s and only remember Jif. I even satirized the "Choosy Moms Choose Jif" commercials in an essay I wrote in junior high, 1977.
@@willvaldez2801 Facts
@@benjaminbarrera214 Maybe we're from a different dimension so that's why for us it was always Jiffy. And Bernstein Bears. And Chic-fil-a.
There's Jiffy muffin mix, and Skippy peanut butter. There was never a Jiffy peanut butter. Jif has always been Jif.
0:21 Now eat it! EAT IT!!!
Born in 1966 and grew up on Jif, not Jiffy.
Hope Smith Polk I know right what the heck is jiffy
1964/Jif
I even remember when "Light My Fire" was a hit on AM radio, and I a few months short of my 3rd birthday. I have discovered many memory errors in my memory over the years but Jif isn't one of them.
they're saying it wrong in this commercial. it's pronounced "gif"
Originally seen in 1972. Norman Rose is the announcer at the end....
So it's the fine grind that makes choosy mothers choose Jif, huh?😉
SMFH IT WAS CALLED JIFFY THIS COMMERCIAL IS FAKE‼️😱😱😱😱😱 O SHIT IT IS A TIMELINE
JIF rules!
T'was always Jif in my timelines. Also in mine.. Jiffy Lube, Jiffy Pop Popcorn.
And Skippy peanut butter. Roll them all together and you have a fake Mandela effect
It was Jiff in my time line. Anyone else?
It was Jiffy for me. This is getting scary!! 😢😳
in the words of dashiexp JJJIIIIIIIIIIFFFFFFFFFF
JIF!!!!
I think some people remember Jiffy because cartoons would draw that in to not infringe on the copyrighted JIF name
I have seen containers that said "Jiffy" on them. It's the peanut butter I used to eat growing up.
@@willvaldez2801 Okay, so there has to be a single container that survived right? Where is it? Oh. Nobody seems to actually have one yet lots of people have mountain dew, pepsi, and coke bottles from like the 70s and earlier. I GUESS YOU CAN'T POSSIBLE BE WRONG CAN YA?!
@@nirv I have been eating peanut butter since the 1950s. It was always called Jif, never "Jiffy". My mother and grandmother would never throw away empty peanut butter jars; they were useful in making jams and jellies. I have never seen a single jar labeled "jiffy".
It was Jiffy peanut butter not JIF
One whiff of that jif in peanut butter heaven you are love jif❤
I remember when peanut butter came in glass jars
Anyone else here from the Mandela Effect?
Yes, it's Jiffy
It was Jiff in my time line... Anyone else?
@@samsmith3885 no one else. It was introduced in 1958 as Jif, and has always been Jif, and will always be Jif. Produce a Jiff add or label. The internet is a wonderous thing.
wtf happened to the name
Nothing - it's always been the same name.
@Alex1993 You do know that Mandela effect means a false memory correct? It has never been called Jiffy.
I remember Jiffy
Joseph Miranda it definitely does not mean that. But people like u believe everything in the mainstream media. You’re labelling it that without even researching the subject. How pathetically ignorant.
exactly.
Does anyone know who the actresses are
Does anyone know who these actresses were
While the G is clearly a hard one for Graphic, this peanut butter's role in internet history is undeniable.*
* You can try, but you'd be wrong. Sorry Wilhite is inconvenient to your internet headcanon. Also, RIP.
@mccarrpo LOL, oooh no you dint LOL
Here comes chocolate to ruin your peanut butter commercial.
Who else came here after watching that new commercial with “Loot-a-something”
Peter Pan peanut butter and time you can only if it's Peter Pan
PEANUTS!!!!
was always jif people relay your think jiff pop
your thinking of skippy
no you dont. lol. liar
I remember like 25 years ago. my mom told me she only likes "jif" with her accent. 3 huge letters for each color. I always hated when people said Gif like.."jif". all it does it sound like the peanutbutter.
So... the same ?
Who puts peanut butter into soup?
Back when it was called Jiffy 😉
I think it was just a knock off store brand that everyone remembers
@@kc-jm3cdno I remember it was jiffy because my family was poor and it’s all we had sometimes! 💀💀
@@godshallsmiteyouu You think Proctor and Gamble or now Smuckers would let a peanut butter brand called "Jiffy" exist without suing them blind? That lawsuit would be filed within days. "Jiiffy" never happened. At least not since Jif was introduced in 1958.
@latinforever1956 Not in this universe, true! Same with the cornucopia in the Fruit of the Loom logo. I remember it very well.
Well, nowadays, women can have almost any career :)
WTF is wrong with people insisting their incorrect beliefs are real? Jif was the peanut butter, Jiffy was the popcorn or the baking mix. People need to start looking into their personal mental health more seriously.
Skeppy hates this ad
I wanted THEM to fine grind.
It's pronounced gif!
With a "J"?
and they knew their place
When i was a kid in the 80's i remember the "Choosy moms choose Jif" commercial. Today in the store its Jiffy peanut butter.
No it's not.
@@floorticket These people insist that it's still Jiffy when it clearly isn't, yet they expect us to trust their recollections of 40 years ago?
@@benjaminbarrera214 im 17 and u remember it being jiffy
It's probably just that our parents called it Jiffy when we were kids to be cute and also we couldn't fking read lol
Which isn't pronounced GIF.
What happened to Jiffy!!!!
It was never called "Jiffy". You so called Mandela Effect warriors are just in denial about being wrong about the name Jif.
ShineTheLight73 It nvr was dear,Jiffy was a burger,.....ALSO various brands Jiffy pop popcorn,Jiffy cirnbreanmcake mixes (that cgeap lightblue and white line if bakery products)
I remember Jiffy through the early 80s, Jif from mid 80s on. There was definitely Jiffy Peanut Butter though.
Skippy and Jiffy
No you didn't, I was born well before you and I grew up on Jif.
For real wheres my JIFFY
JIFFY Peanut Butter did u choose that name based on the mandela effect change? Or what?
Yes i did
Yep and the movie SHAZAAM
I tried to send Smuckers an email to see if they would make Jiffy for a limited time, for us that remember it that way.
It's Jiffy peanut butter
It's JIF Peanut Butter. Never in the history of Humanity has it ever been called Jiffy. "Choosy Mom's Choose JIF" Get over it.
Joseph Miranda Amen!!
Lol ignorance is bliss with you so called Mandela Effect warriors.
I remember Jiffy. You’re not crazy. Jiffy had the same colors, but smaller lettering until the early 80s
@@jamesmiller1972 I was born in the mid 80's and grew up with Jiffy peanut butter throughout the 90's. When I first saw "Jif" in the 2000's, I literally thought that it was a rebranding by the company.
HEUGH
Nah it’s jiffy not jif
Back then it was Jiffy
@@Schnipp08 back never.
@@testodude It used to be
@@Schnipp08r. Jif was introduced in 1958,. You can expend nearly zero effort on an internet search, and find ads from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and every one of them will say Jif. I challenge you to find one, just one print ad, tv commercial, label or piece of swag that says "Jiffy", and link it here. You won't. It was never Jiffy in the US. Maybe some crappy knockoff in other countries Never in the US.
The funny thing is that it use to be called Jiffy. But today the person in the time machine changed the name, so that the person that made the corn mix could call it Jiffy.
it was jiffy! something big is going on.
This is crazy. It's like we're living in a PKD novel. Perhaps he wasn't so paranoid after all.
if it were a time machine nobody should remember, but i remember jiffy, and Berenstien Bears, and Looney Toons!!! so wtf happened?
I don´t know, but I think it may be an error of our minds.
I hope you're joking . because someone as old as you shouldn't be so damn stupid. sorry
This commercial is fake. Was made recently. Don't be a sucker.
