It’s honestly mind blowing that an entire multi-billion dollar marketing team pitched, discussed, voted on, planned, filmed, edited, and aired this commercial without a single person going “yo uhhhh, don’t you think this might be a lil fucked up?”
Someone probably did step up, but they were easily shut up..

A slick, multi-billion dollar corporate advertisement GUIDED in every way by U.S. government 'intelligence' operatives to deliver senseless propaganda that wholly negates the real issues of protest and our right right to dissent in the collective. We don't even know what's being protested, do we?

I can’t believe this commercial ended racism and police brutality. Everything is peaceful now. Thank you Kendall!!!
The power of Pepsi… I’m going to try that next time there is a riot in our neighborhood.. what would we without KarJenners?!
How it comes
I'm deeply disappointed that Pepsiman didn't make an appearance.
A cop nearly beat my brother to death, but then I showed him this video and popped a Pepsi.
😆😆😆😆 nice!
Very underrated aspect is how the protest is basically treated as one big party the entire time

@@wuw2166 We live in a society

There's only two ways to interpret this commercial and neither of them are a good look for Pepsi:
1) Pepsi doesn't care about legitimate social issues and in the midst of all the chaos and division they just want you to think about Pepsi
2) Pepsi genuinely cares about legitimate social issues but they actually think the solution to these problems is Pepsi
Edit, thought of the third one:
3) Pepsi doesn't actually care about legitimate social issues but they do believe the solution to these problems is Pepsi, so its your loss if you don't buy it
In reality some marketing director with no bad intentions probably just thought it would be a relevant way to market the product at the time, but in the excitement of wanting to get their cool idea out there, they didn't stop to realize how tone deaf it was.

The reason this commercial sucks, or at least the reason so many people thought it did, is that it uses political protests/rallies/marches, which were topical at the time (the "not my President protests" happened just over a month earlier) as a setting.
Whether one agrees with those protests or others, they're an important part of the life of any democracy, something that should not be trivialized to sell a product. It's not escapism like going to the movies, it's the exercise of fundamental rights (freedom of assembly, freedom of speech), protected by the Constitution, which lots of people, right or wrong, consider to be in danger in the US.
It's a sensitive topic, that's all.
