When you watch Lethal 3, remember that there's a small after credits scene. You won't want to miss that.
Excellent Suggestion!!! If they let the credits roll for a moment, I'm sure they'll see it. . .
Been a fan of these movies for over 20 years and I've never never known this. Looks like I know what I'm watching today
3 is my favorite out of all of them.
Oh I completely forgot about that lol
Well shoot - I'm gonna have to go watch it. I've never heard of an end of credit scene for the movie
Fun fact Re: the toilet bomb scene - Mythbusters tested that and found that using liquid nitrogen slow down the trigger mechanism works far better than it does in the movie. It practically stopped the system completely, and one could have just walked out of the house entirely, not just jump into the tub.
Wouldn't have been entertaining, though I'll keep that in mind for if I ever find myself in a similar situation.
The audience in the theater gave "Just been revoked" an ovation.
When I saw it in the theater, they did the same thing when Murtaugh threw his badge in his desk drawer
It was such an iconic line, Family Guy used it a few times.
@@gothnate After Peter killed Stewie.
sounds like a really annoying audience
I post this gif every time Australia defeats South Africa in a test match.
This series is one of the rare ones where all 4 are absolutely amazing and having Joe in 2-4 is great
I agree, I often rewatch them, they are the perfect that all 4 work togeether.
The 1 is perhaps the most adult and serious film in the saga, the rest of the films are funnier, with more action and comedy, films designed for the whole family and they all worked very well, despite the change in tone.
"Private Investigator?" LOL
I really loved the Villain in LW 4! I don't want to spoil it for the Team here, though...
They're making a LW5
Joe Pesci brings so much fun to the series as Leo! He's a little agent of chaos and his fast talking shtick is hilarious.
"Okay! Okay! Okay!" is a go-to quote.
I knew a Marine Drill Instructor who sounded exactly like Joe Pesci as Leo.
This was every bit as funny as it sounds.
My mom and I say, "Okay, okay" to each other all the time! Love this series!
Apparently, he got that from young folk working at Disneyland. When he asked directions.
Not OKAY... its... UHKAY
I love how they do such a good job at showing you how the Murtaughts really adopted Riggs just like they showed at the end of the first movie when Roger asks him to stay for Christmas dinner, since here you see Riggs cooking with Trish and doing his laundry at the Murtaugh's and everybody acts like it's business as usual, and you guys even thought for a moment that maybe he actually lived there.
I think the family aspect is what I like about the series the most.
“But…but…you’re bleck.”
“He is….you are.”
Lol such a quotable movie
Enter Joe Pesci! He was such a great addition. "They f*ck you in the drive-thru!" We still say this all the time. The bathroom bomb scene is one of my all-time favorite scenes.
Yeah Pesci can be a hilarious goofball or a terrifying little psycho 🤣
Yep! 30+ years later, whenever they mess up my order, I still quote that line!
Yea, that line was made for me. I don't do drive-throughs at all for anything. I didn't when this movie first came out and I still don't.
The bathroom scene is my favorite as well. "Keep it quiet".... BAM every cop, firefighter and paramedic in a 10 mile radius is swarming like a bee around the house.. sometimes when watching the movie again, i still burst into laughter.
The mythbusters tested that scene out on a episode. turned out spraying a bomb with nitrogen won't give them a few seconds. They could of walk out with time for the bomb disposal team to come in and defuse the bomb.
The decaffeinated chirp was a pun on a racial slur that was used in South Africa, brilliant script writing
I've read Rigs suppose to die at the end in the original script, he was lying there when the camera zooms out, but he doesn't move.
I'm so glad they changed it, because the 3 and 4 Leathal Weapon is awesome ! I'm so glad I grew up watching these guys 😁 Can't wait to see your guys reaction for 3 and 4 !
Yes. Shane Black's original script was much darker.
I'm still surprised by that fact today. Especially after seeing the amazing chemistry of Riggs and Murtaugh. You don't just kill that off.
That would have been a horrible and depressing ending....wow
Actually, when I saw the film in the theaters, I thought the film would've been stronger if Riggs had died. If you read the Shane Black novelization of the FIRST film, Riggs is a much more haunted character, and it would've made more sense for him to die in this film. In every hero's journey, the hero must eventually die. But then again, I'm weird that way. I thought the Star Trek films would've been much better if Spock had stayed dead after Wrath of Kahn.
Murtaugh started laughing because he realized the absurdity of the joke and accepted it and became part of it, after that they stopped messing with him. Great reaction as always!
Finding a Christmas tree of condoms on your desk is a pretty good rib...bed for your pleasure. 😂
GREAT REACTION!!
I think you guys are ready for “National Lampoons, Loaded Weapon.”
It is a parody movie that really ‘spoofs’ buddy cop movies.
Catch you again when you do #3.
I started giggling when I saw Riggs in the straight jacket...
Can't watch Loaded Weapon without watching Lethal Weapon 3. It has jokes that reference that, too.
Just wait for part 3... and if you like 3, just wait for 4. They did such a good job elevating the action and comedy in each subsequent film.
One and Two were way above the rest. Then the films got weaker.
@@elcorado83 disagree I feel like they are all equal
This is hard for me as I’m a harsh critic but they all are level
The joke that Roger said to Riggs at the end about them being dekaffernated was a joke about what they kept calling him.
Was about to post this.. "kaffir" is a South African slur for black people.
The term Kaffa is a derogatory word it's basically the South African equivalent of the N-word
The best thing about this series is its consistency. Gibson, Glover and Donner saw this series all the way through and as a result ALL 4 films are entertaining and enjoyable. I definitely think they peaked with 2, but 3 and 4 are fun too. Also it's great Pesci also is in the rest of the series, I'm glad be became a staple.
OK OK OK - now that you've seen Part 2, you are ready to watch "Loaded Weapon 1" - one of the best parodies ever made. 😜
That parody is mediocre
"Well these matches say you're lying!"
@@Shawn-mo6dhSaid no one ever.
@@Phyrrax well I literally said it because that parody isn't good
@@Shawn-mo6dh it may not be the strongest of the pre-2000 era of parodies, but it's still good, and it's leagues better than any parody that came out _after_ 2000.
Pesci was an improvement in the series. A rare thing in movies.
One of the best moments is Riggs calling out the names of all the killed officers (and Reka) while shooting the one guy.
He also called his wife’s name Vicky to since Vorstadt murdered his wife to as well as Rika.
Important to remember there is no CGI in any of the 4 Lethal Weapons. None. NUN. All practical effects and real stunt work. You'll see why I'm emphasizing this point in Lethal Weapon 3. Also the first post credit scene so enjoy the music in ending credits
Lethal Weapon 2 is my favorite of the series. It's such a fun movie, but also still had stakes and the best villains of the series. It also is the one that introduced Joe Pesci as Leo Getz. Director Richard Donner described his character as the third Stooge and he really is.
Following this franchise up with Loaded Weapon one would be great. Your patreons should get you to do a run of spoofs with that and both the hot shots films.
The ending is filmed around the L.A. harbor. I grew up in San Pedro, which is part of the harbor. The huge green bridge at the end of this film is the Vincent Thomas Bridge. It has been used in countless movies and tv shows for decades. In 2012 director Tony Scott jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge taking his own life. RIP TONY SCOTT
Yay! I'm so excited to watch this. Few movies are this dark yet so funny. George Harrison's song over the closing credits became an instant favorite of mine when I first saw this movie. Thanks for reacting to this!
Yeah same for me too I love Cheer Down!
Same with Cheer Down. I recorded it onto a mix tape when this came out. 🤣
Me too! LOVE that song.
Love all the lethal weapon movies.
Me too
I knew y’all would really like this one. I’m glad you weren’t spoiled with the addition of Joe Pesci to the franchise. You definitely need to continue watching the other sequels. Lethal Weapon is one of those rare franchises that doesn’t get diluted with each sequel. I can’t wait for y’all to get to the 4th movie to see who they added to the cast. Lethal Weapon 3 will take you on an emotional roller coaster, it is still action-packed and carries over the comedy from the 2nd movie. Another great reaction, can’t wait to see your reaction to A Bronx Tale.
P.S - there is a post-credit scene in Lethal Weapon 3. To my knowledge it is one of the first post-credit scenes to be added to a movie.
Ferris Bueller was before Lethal Weapon 3 with a post credit scene
@@superlumyes
I always love watching TBR and Samantha watching really good movies! Their after-movie discussions are always just as great as their reactions.
Although Part 2 is my favorite of the Lethal Weapon movies, Parts 3 and 4 are also very good.
“It’s been revoked” must be at the top of 80s & 90s action movies one liners.😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed the movie. I feel like this is one of those series where every movie is solid and fun. More great hijinks to come. Fun fact: In Home Alone Joe Pesci drives a van that belongs to Oh-Kay Plumbing which may be an homage to Leo Getz, because the character constantly uses the word "okay."
DIDN'T WAIT TOOOOO LONG ON THIS SERIES, WAY TO GO GUYS!!! 😊
I love the toilet scene. There is so much bro in it. Those two trust each other with their lives.
I love that even though Murtaugh is literally sitting on a bomb, he and Riggs still can't help but to crack jokes about Trish's cooking. 😂
Lethal Weapon did something really rare. ALL of them are actually great! We all have our favorites, but they really are all quite good.
I hope you do the others. I think you'll enjoy them.
Have a wonderful day, all.
the female cop who died on the diving board bomb is Vasquez from Aliens.
This film had both Vasquez & Drake from Aliens.
That '' But, you're Bleck.'' line is still one I use :D
So happy you are covering this amazing quadrilogy!!!❤️❤️❤️
If you pause for one frame, you can see Roger shot the guy at the end through his ID photo into his head, shooting his "head" twice.
Just noticed that every time Murtagh does that head roll, he's about to make THE headshot of the movie. He did it in 1 and in this one. I'll have to watch 3 again to see. 😎
It's great to watch your reaction to the second of the Lethal Weapon series. It's definitely worth investing time watching the other movies in the series, but as you rightly point out with sequels, each time you have to curb your expectations a bit but hopefully you'll still enjoy them.
And you're right about the first movie being a lot more darker and serious, but it's a great plot and character investment that sets up the buddy cop and family relationships throughout the other movies.
TBR you are on my time schedule and I love it!
You just need to watch Basic Instinct and you'll be ready to watch Samuel L. Jackson & Emilio Estevez spoof Loaded Weapon 1
I love how Mel’s Australian accent is used freely around the Dutch/South African lady.
The actress was British, as were all the 'Afrikaners'
@@yw1971 lol I'm south African, and some of them were south African
The Action franchise that feels like home. 🏡 💥 The very first film Mel Gibson ever directed was _Mel Gibson's Unauthorized Video Diary_ - 30 minutes of gags & skits Mel recorded on the _Lethal Weapon 2_ set. Hilarious & easy to find on YT.
My stepdad had recorded that off of an obscure cable channel called "Movie Time" -- which would shortly thereafter rebrand itself as "E!". I watched that tape so many times...
"Who cares about her, where is Sam." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“They f$(k you at the drive thru!!!”
I say this at least once a week….which might be a wake up call for how many times I eat out…
I love all the lethal weapon movies. What makes these so great is Riggs and Murtaughs relationship how they care about each other riggs basically a member of the family now. So great
Did you know the Murtaugh house is the Neighbors house In Christmas Vacation. The houses are used in California at one of the studios they used back in the day
The Lethal Weapon movie series is probably one of the few series that stays pretty consistent as far as enjoyability. They're all good. Trust me, keep going.
The sequels are definitely worth checking out.
Riggs' "near death" at the end was the greatest fake out in film history- Riggs whispering for Roger, soundtrack playing "Knocking on Heaven's Door", the look on Roger's face when he first finds Riggs motionless...
ALL of us in the theatre believed 100% they were going to kill off his character as it was sometimes the case when an actor was done playing a recurring role.
originally the script was even darker than the first one and Riggs was supposed to die terribly in the arms of Murtaugh at the end, but producer Joel Silver wanted the movie to be open for more sequels with a more comedic mood! "cinematic" immunity, I guess...
The way Rog does that little thing with his neck, just like the two times he does the same thing in the first movie... is a nice touch.
Every movie in this series introduces a new character. 3 & 4 are just as fast paced and good. 4 is actually my favorite in the series.
The best part of this movie that the writing didn't fall into the trap of trying to re-introduce the characters.
It knows the audience is aware of the relationship of the characters, their dynamic and so they start where they left off, not wasting time at all.
Hint: the third is just as good and so is the 4th.
I love when the guy looks back to make sure he's not standing on plastic.
I'm glad you are checking this one out. I don't think they were intended as such but 'Lethal Weapon 2' picks up some story threads we didn't even know we needed closure on and gives them to us. The death of Martin's wife and why she died. It wasn't really mentioned but there are "End Apartheid" posters and stickers all over the first one in Roger's house. It's amazing how well they tied it all up in a nice little bow.
Thank you for releasing my favorite lethal weapon movie reaction on my birthday!
happy birthday. hopefully you're not too old for this sh*t.
Happy birthday! :D
Happy Birthday!
I remember watching this as a teenager when it came out, and I fell in love with the blonde lady. I blame puberty.
While he didn't mean too, Riggs got that poor girl killed. He had to have known he was endangering her. Especially considering that he was going to war against the guys she worked for.
I often wondered about that, but it's an element never mentioned by anyone else in the film. I thought it would have been better if Rog had at least at some point said something cautionary about it, but then nothing more because he didn't know how serious it became between Riggs and the girl.
The contractor ad-libbed the line about the condoms so that's actually Mel breaking character for a second when he laughs
Great Reaction Friends; I Love it when jump scares are so good, that they got y'all both every time!! Also, Props to Sam for quick-catching the connection to the death of Riggs' wife! 👏 BTW Dan, wanted to give you a friendly heads-up: my friend @Jen_Murray recently went through all 4 of these movies, but she had copyright issues with the 3rd & 4th. By the time she could finally upload them, her re-edits turned out much-much shorter than her first 2. Good Luck with Your edits, and I look forward to hearing one of these is your favorite. . .
yess JEN loved these L WEAPON films, some people love Numb 3 better because of RENE RUsso as a bad ass, BUt I still love L Weap 2 as it really explains a lot, pesci of course and, If I recall correct the screen writer originally had Riggs die in this, but Producers knew that had a great series to continue, Oh and DANIEL when Murtagh says they have been de cafeinated Im pretty sure the S african slur for black was Kaffir used by the bad guys
Jen sucks
The toilet sequence was used as the film's teaser trailer. The tagline at the end of the trailer was "this time they're not taking any crap".
Lethal Weapon 2 is so damn fun. Definitely my favorite of the series.
That part where Riggs drops the house was somewhat remade/inspired in GTA V during one event.
Aw man, you left out one of the funniest and most iconic scenes from this movie - Leo's "they f*ck you at the drive-through" rant. When this movie came out, *everyone* was referencing that rant.
I remember when they used to do the behind the scenes specials on HBO back in the day and they did this one and highlighted the real life destruction of the house on the hill [the house in question is an architecturally iconic house. They couldn't use the real house, what they did was build a full scale replica of the house for the indoor/outdoor scenes and its final destruction via truck, so when you see it rip away and tumble down the hill with the Pesci/Glover stunt doubles leaping from it, that all happened in real time at full size(no mini models)]
This is a classic my favorite Lethal Weapon movie next to the original. Glad you guys to watch the film and give your input which you two fun to watch. This movie definitely has the best mix of action and comedy and has its share of suspenseful moments. One scene when Riggs finds out his wife wasn’t killed by a drunk driver but was a hit by a contract killer Vorstadt who tells Riggs he put a hit on Riggs and supposed to kill him and killed his wife and coldly explains Riggs doesn’t luck with women and find out that murdered Riggs new love interest Rika and you feel bad for Riggs knowing several of his and Rogers colleagues weee murdered to.
The end credit song is "Cheer Down" by George Harrison. I had to get the soundtrack at the time so I could get that song, It's easier to find now of course. LW3 is a bit slower, but don't skip it, it adds Rene Russo to the team and sets up LW4. The series is good at keeping the same actors in the background throughout the movies.
I live in the DC area and every time I see a Diplomatic plate I say "Diplomatic immunity!!!!"
Fun fact, the scene where Riggs brings down the house, they actually did destroy that house, it wasn't a model or a mock up!
Ohh, why they do it ?
Interestingly I think the combination of Lethal Weapon 3 & 4 are even better. Truly an exceptional series of films from start to finish.
Can't wait for your reaction to Lethal Weapon 3. I just moved to Orlando when they filmed the opening scene.
Orlando suck
I remember Patsy Kensit from her days as the lead singer for the British band Eighth Wonder. Had such a crush on her back then.
Lethal Weapon 2 is a great example of how a Sequel can actually be as good if not better than the original, with more humour, more action, more one-liners and makes us care even more about the fantastic Duo of Riggs and Murtaugh. This movie dives deeper and explores the relationship not only between Riggs and Murtaugh but it also shows how Riggs was 'adopted' by Murtaugh as one of their own. And the addition of Leo getz (Joe Pesci) as the 'Over the Top getting on your nerves but cant help but Love' truly add an extra layers to this relationship ( And Yes, Leo is still a big part in lethal Weapon 3 & 4 - Particularly at the End of Lethal Weapon 4 in a scene between Riggs and Leo, which ends up being my favourite scene from the entire Franchise ). And we got the chance to see Riggs dives into his 'Crazy' side once again after the crazy connection with what happened to his wife is revealed.
Funny elements about Lethal Weapon : In lethal Weapon 1, when Riggs is shot by Joshua in the street and ends up going through a window in slow motion - In an early version of the Script, the Character of Riggs was supposed to die at that Point, Leading to Murtaugh becoming the new 'lethal Weapon' and going on a Revenge path to avenge Riggs death - They decided to change that and therefore added a new version where Riggs survives - And provides a better ending to it. Riggs was once again supposed to die at the end of Lethal Weapon 2, when he is shot by the South African Consulate, but decided to go for a 'lighter / Happier' ending matching more the general tone of the Movie.
For another great recommendation 'Conspiracy Theory", also directed by Richard Donner and featuring Mel Gibson (as a Cab Driver believing in conspiracy Theories ) and Julia Roberts.
Real stunts and just sooo much fun back than 🥰 and these movies are still so much more entertaining watching them over and over again then "most" nowadays movies. Lets hope Tom Cruise will live forever! :D
Could you imagine how chaotic it would be for Riggs and Murtaugh and everybody else if Joe Pesci’s character was in full on Goodfellas / Casino mode:) That would be truly epic and terrifying:)
The lady cop (killed on the diving board) was Vasquez from Aliens and John's step mom from Terminator 2..
The trailer for this movie for this movie ended with the toilet landing on Roger's car and the tagline, "This time, they're not taking any crap!" 😂
The actress playing the woman detective that gets blown up diving into her pool, Jenette Goldstein, also played Vasquez the machinegunner in "Aliens" and Janelle Voight the foster mother in "Terminator 2".
And the actor killed in the “drop cloth” was Drake from “Aliens”
Maverick from the 90s is another fun one directed by Donner starring Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, James Garner, and Alfred Molina (Doc Ock from Tobey’s Spider-Man)
@19:20 I can't recall any blockbuster movie this actress doesn't die in. Her characters died in The Presidio, Aliens, Lethal Weapon 2 and Terminator 2! She's like the Sean Bean of supporting actresses!
All four are great, but this is the best in the series to me. The origin story of Riggs and Murtaugh meeting is out of the way, so the audience can just have fun. It's got the right amount of comedy and action and is one of the best sequels ever..
10:16 death by surfboard ☠️🏄🏻♂️

Great reaction. I love all of the films in this franchise, but this is my favourite.
This was the first Lethal Weapon movie I saw on NBC when I was 5-6 years old as well as Lethal Weapon 3.
The house was designed by John Lautner a famous mid century architect. He also design the house in The Big Lebowski.
The house they destroyed was a full-scale copy of the Garcia House in Los Angeles, designed by John Lautner. All the inside shots were in the copy as well.
I highly recommend the 1989 Terry Gilliam epic fantasy adventure comedy The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen, starring John Neville, Sarah Polley, Eric Idle, Jonathan Pryce, Uma Thurman, Oliver Reed, Bill Paterson, Dennis Winston, Charles McKeown, Jack Purvis, and an uncredited appearance by Robin Williams.
Nominated for 4 Oscars:
Best Visual Effects
Best Production Design
Best Make Up
Best Costume Design.
Unreal! 3 a.m. and I've been putting off sleep for hours. One last smoke and I'll open up youtube I said. You're lucky I have nothing to do tomorrow lol. I love this movie, thanks for giving us the sequel so soon after the first one.
people seem to forget the murtaughs are the ideal family that we should aimed to be. with all the crazy stuffs that happened to them, they still stayed together. heck, they still lived in the same neighborhood.
remember, there WERE no sequels, we really thought riggs was dying. very emotional with that lovely music. and he said "dekaiffirnated," a pun.
Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, and Richard Donner all said they considered Lethal Weapon 2 their favorite of the series.
Not only was this movie considered superior to the original, it made way more money than the first one. It more than held it's own in the summer of 1989 when it had some BRUTAL competition for box office dollars in Batman, Ghostbusters II, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, etc etc. It still reigned supreme. Unquestionably the peak of the franchise. In fact, Riggs was supposed to originally die at the end. The very last shot was actually the original ending of Riggs's death...they kept it and just added Riggs and Murtagh talking over it.
I remember that this movie, along with the hits you mentioned, was "priced-to-buy" when it came out on video, which had been unusual for most videotapes, especially non-kids films. $24.99.
This one is my favorite of the series, but they're all pretty great. This one has more humour and it expands the cast but it still centres around them and their relationship.
My favorite part is he wanted to go to South Africa!!! You dumb SOB, you dumb SOB!!! Great reaction again, Thanks
Shane Black wanted Riggs to die at the end of part 2. When Donner decided to let him live, Black refused to continue with the series.
And Donner was right about that.
Yep you should watch all the lethal weapon movies. The family grows larger with each sequel. It helps that Richard Donner directed the 4 movies (R.I.P). I also recommend to watch the movie National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon after part 3. It's a parody with a lot of cameo's of famous people.
This movie is my favorite of the franchise. “Diplomatic Immunity”
When Riggs slams that dude's head with the car door is bad ass
perfect timing. and congrats on 100k!!!
Dean Norris in the office precinct. More proof that Dean Norris is every action movie, T2, Total Recall, Lethal Weapon ;)
You're right, there was an insane amount of product placement in this movie. The cologne 'Hero' was in it a few times, first we hear a commercial for it just before Riggs watches the stooges with Sam and during the helicopter attack on his trailer theres a clear shot of a bottle of it getting destroyed by gunfire.
Nearly as blatant as an Adam Sandler movie
"She made me want to go out and buy condoms."
