@Nkanyezi Zithulele I think they suffer from arrogance. They do the same thing in America, they call African Americans lazy. They forget that if Africans Americans did not fight for emancipation, they would not put their black&%&$§&% in the USA. They get jobs in the USA because of Affirmitive Action that Black Americans fought for.

Facts! If Lisa is AA, she needs to come to grips with the fact that her people are not only from Ghana and Nigeria. In fact, historical records indicate that most of the Africans that were exiled to the U.S. during the trans Atlantic were from what is now Cameroon, Congo and Angola. Literally fully Bantu people. Nigerian and Ghanaian heritage is more prevalent among English speaking black Caribbeans.

He remains calm despite him being asked disturbing questions or listening to destructive comments by Lisa. He shows respect, he is not fighting anyone despite being pushed into that direction. He is not forcing anyone to come to south Africa , only that are interested. There are many African countries one can visit.

Lisa, the sad fact that most Americans of African descent have more Nigerian dna than the other west African nations is the main reason I’d pass on spending one dang US dime there. Where is their support for helping us get US reparations? Where are land grants in Nigeria for former diaspora slaves? It’s because Nigeria was surely most complicit in the sell of their own people. Heck the US sent some former slaves to Liberia instead of Nigeria. You cannot steal 4 million people with castles built on coastlines without some assistance from whatever government existed back then. I do admire Ghana for at least facing the past and reaching out to African Americans. Where was Nigeria tho- in our fight for civil rights? They have oil- surely they could have said something!! Where are they now? still corrupt and cursed because of historical tribal foolishness. They didn’t care about us then and they don’t really care now. They still have the same tribal caste system in practice. South Africans understand our struggle here. I’m not down for living in abject corruption and I’m sure my ancestors would be angry if I went back there. If the US offered them $ to send you back to the US, they would do it with no hesitation. Doing the same thing twice and expecting a different result is insanity.

I agree with “The Real SA’s” comment regarding crime. American’s would also have an issue with illegal white/ black immigrants doing crime in their country. Unfortunately, innocent law abiding legal immigrants end up also feeling the impact. Nonetheless, Xenophobia is wrong regardless of the reasons. The statement that South Africans hate foreigners is a generalization- so misleading and incorrect.

The negative comments about the 'Search For Uhuru' guy stems from his previous videos and comments discouraging people from visiting South Africa. About three years ago I had to unsubcribe from his channel after he made blanket statements based on half-truths and downright lies about us. I am glad he has changed his mind about setting foot in South Africa again and can assure him that nobody is going to mistake him for a "Nigerian" (if there is such a thing as a Nigerian look from such a huge country as Nigeria with its diversified population) and start attacking him for no reason.
As an African I absolutely abhor this tendency of certain people trying to pitch this thing of playing South Africa against Nigeria for whatever ulterior motive. We do not need that negative energy and for me 'Search For Uhuru' exuded those negative vibes. Hopefully the more he engages with content from South Africa (by South Africans and others whichever he is comfortable with) he will be able to see that the views he expressed a few years back were misguided and instead of building up Africa, they were only sowing seeds of division.

Their views from their past are not necessarily their current views and that is a good thing, is it not?

I'm South African but admit we are the most Westernized in general, and some people are Africanized (and thus developed rural areas). I never get why ya'll want to deny facts just because it isn't palatable.
      - Folk here deem "good schools" as private schools, which are where? Built when for who?
      - Folk deem "good colleges" as Universities where? Built when for who?
      - We have 11 official languages, and the lingua franca of education/business in South Africa is? The secondary language of education/business in South Africa is?
      - Hair, Dress code etc are still dictated to us by European standards (Westernization), and fortunately for us being fought by the younger generation, even in the 21st century.
There are smaller attempts in Africanizing our spaces (EFF's rise was mainly due to this), but there is absolutely NOTHING wrong in admitting the problems of ZA on a public platform, because they need to be fixed! What you look at as "rapid modernization", is within Westernization in ZA. Sticking our heads in the sand won't get anything fixed.
You can still say ZA is great, but still be critical of the problems.
