    Great explanation, thanks. Really would like how the key action feel as compared to a good acoustic Piano. About to get either this one or a Yamaha U1 for my 10 year old daughter in the next 3 weeks.

      +Michael Lu Hi Michael, Action is really good. The main thing is that the action needs to be able to fully exploit the sound qualities of the instrument which this one does.
      Every acoustic piano feels different as do different digital pianos. The emphasis needs to be placed on how great does the action feel to play on that piano? and how well can you express yourself?
      A Yamaha U1 is a mid range instrument and I wouldn't hesitate to put the LX-17 up against it. Only thing I can say is have a play of the LX-1 7! Good luck :-) Rudi

    Does it have a "white noise" like hiss when not played and just sitting idle? I just got this instrument and though it feels and sounds truly fantastic, it has a rather "loud" hiss that is audiable from about a meter away when in a quiet room and the piano is not played. I wonder if this is normal, or this is a fault in my instrument only.

    hi! I would like to know if the ROLAND LX-17 has the same sound engine as ROLAND V-PIANO/V-GRAND?
    thank you!!!!

      Hi there. Yes, the new LX-17 (as well as HP603/605/LX7) uses the same Behaviour Modelling technology as the V-Piano and V-Piano Grand. So, the LX17 offers the same benefits as V-Piano models:
      (1) Acoustic Behaviour (harmonic resonance changes in real time, depending on the notes you play and how you play them - something not possible using Sample-based technology.)
      (2) Unlimited Polyphony
      (3) Unlimited Flexibility (note-by-note adjustments for Tuning, Voicing (Tone) and Volume.)
      Hope this helps.

    it does not stream midi to all blue tooth devices. Only iOS devices. If you want to use the midi with other devices you have to connect with USB.

    Compared to the DP 603 is there any real sound difference when not plugged in to headphones in the HP 603 or is it just the size/style?

    Thanks for this great review. At this moment I'm comparing the Yamaha CLP 585 with the Roland LX 17. How do you think the Roland compares to the Yamaha if it comes to a 'realistic' piano sound?

    One of the biggest diferences betwen acoustic and digital pianos is the weight of the keys. How about this one? Feels like an acoustic or feels like every other digital piano?

      @user-sx4ii5vb2x Před 4 lety

      Renan Botelho this piano has actual wooden keys with a simulated mechanism that an upright piano has. With no doubt it’ll never be as good as an acoustic, but it’s the closest among the digital pianos

    I've watched a lot of your reviews in trying to decide which new Piano I am going to buy. The one I have has terrible sustain. The note drops off at the end and is totally unnatural. This review was the first one to mention sustain decay. Does the sustain not decay naturally on any other digital piano ,(that isn't multiple thousands of dollars)? A Yamaha PS125 for example? That being the case makes them all a ripoff. I can get a standard Midi Piano sound, with bad sustain properties from my $50 Ashton keyboard. If the sustain pedal doesn't work right, without spending 5 grand, why do it? Honestly, I am in the market for a new digital Piano upto a thousand bux. Sell me.

      cynic150 He's not playing an impressionist concert for this video, mate. His mind is obviously concentrated on selling the product too. Give him a lil break. He's done a fantastic job explaining and showing what's needed to be heard.
