Might be a small point but the explosions in this game look great, maybe the best I've seen in a game
The explosions mixed with random bug bits flying every where are a wonderful touch.
right? the flamethrower and explosions do look really cool
I think technically they don't look great but in a way that's very reminiscent of old movie CGI (ie, I think it was intentional) so they're actually awesome in this game.

Pyrian tripping over a rock, panicking, and blaming a bug was great, but Ben's unspoken confusion as he tried to heal the actually unharmed Pyrian was gold.

The editing on this was surprisingly good in the sense that I could always tell who I’m watching when the perspective switched, even without looking at the bottom left
I didn't even know that I knew this quote, but I instantly blurted out "Come on you apes, you wanna live forever?!" when I saw this gameplay. Even after 18 years, it's still feels like yesterday.
After a long day, this reminds me just how much I love Tom joining up with the other Yogs for shenanigans. I hope we keep getting more of this delicious bugulite, and other team-ups for things.

i thought it was a single player game but not only it is online but its random squads too? and its similar to battlefield games where you have squads with other squads but this time against npcs/pve???? ooooo
16 players divided among squads. All pve. Right now there's only two modes.

Watching a bunch of people just incoherently try to figure out a build tool in real time for a big wave defense is as much of a beautiful clusterfuck as expected. I love it.

Nice to see some British troopers doing their part. I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA and I say kill them all. You can find me, Darth Quaint, on the US central servers, most commonly on Cerberus squad.
Each class has their awesome unique benefits, but I'm partial to the operator for many a perk. Operators have a passive healing drone skill so they do not have to rely on the stim packs they start with as a utility, they can sling a resource capsule into their backpack to freely move and shoot while transporting resources and can even move at what appears to be their normal pace even with two canisters.
The faster build perk doubling repair speed is super awesome as well.
This is perfect fuel for my 90's era video game/movie/nostlagia/trippy/cheeze brain. Love it.
Reply to myself: Hated the film; was so much wanting it to be like the book. In hindsight: I'm alright. Heinlein had issues, and the film is mocking. 8/10
This is great. I kinda wish the bugs had like insta-kill animations where if they get close they grab hold of the player and just start thrashing him around and ripping him apart. Something about a first person shooter where you have deadspace level kill animations from the enemies would be so metal. XD
Damn, the helmet in the thumbnail somehow makes Pflax look like Ravs.

Really hope they add a version of the game for Multiplayer where you can play as a Bug. Like Left for Dead style, Bugs vs. Humans, think it would work really well!
Every single person I've seen play this so far has stood in big red 'drop zone' and then been surprised by being stuck/killed

I saw this game on steam and it looked really good. Love starship troopers. After watching them play, definitely wanna get it for sure now. All my doubts are gone. The game is only early access too. Just going to get better and better. Would love to see you, Ben and Pyrion play this again! Thanks Tom!!

I've had the most fun in this on the highest difficulty, you still generally win the mission, but with a lot more death and dismemberment along the way
at first i was like "oh what is this, it looks terrible just like any other starship troopers game" and then i was like "HOLY SHIT THEY'RE COMING OUT OF THE WALLS" lmao this game looks amazing

Tom and Ben are always an immediate click, though I can't say the egg slowed me down any. And for this kind of game... Pyrion's kind of a good inclusion! But I'll *always* speedy click Tom & Ben.

this is the kind oif game I'm happy to see other people play because this kind of frantic leaping about death from all directions...I am not young anymore and I'm too casual for this :) And with friendly fire...the other players would be more of a hazard than the bugs!
