I just got surgery on both knees and cant go anywhere. This video is the most exciting thing to happen in the 3 days I've been on the couch. Thank you for cheering me up I love you guys!
Are you better now? :)
It kind of feels like how abusive relationships work but in a shorter space of time, but a much more intense situation for a short space of time. Because abusers make you empathise with then even if they are being horrific towards you. It isn't all being trapped, it's the way they make you feel about yourself and them.
I was having a really bad evening but the notification for this video cheered me up a little.
I hope you have a better day tomorrow 🙏🏿:)
@@kaiylasab9767 Unlikely (I'm starting counselling at college) but thanks for the sentiment. It's appreciated :)
@@_xV01Dx_ hey how was your day lol :)
@@kaiylasab9767 It was surprisingly good. Thanks. Hope your day was great too :)
I listened to this on Spotify but I came here to ask you HOW THE HELL you managed to talk about Stockholm Syndrome for almost an hour without mentioning the One Direction song a single time. I had it stuck in my head all the way through listening to this. Other than that it was a fantastic episode!
so glad someone else had this reaction
I just heard Corry say Stockholm syndrome and I started to sing and dance around my house. Glad I'm not the only one :)
who's that shadow holding me hostage i've been here for daaaaays 🎶
This podcast is so good! I've learnt so much I'm constantly annoying my family with random info lol
This reminds me of a role-playing convention I went to many years ago; one scenario I played was a botched bank-robbery, we were the robbers, and the characters were strangers, just as the other players and the GM were to me. It was one of the most intense sessions I have played, to the point that we were LARPing half of the game, and I felt a definite (but short lived) emotional bond with the others after.
This didn't occur in Stockholm, Sweden though, It was in Gothenburg...
P.s. We all love a good heist-movie, doesn't seem like it's a big stretch to sympathise with the bank-robbers, and what bank-worker hasn't fantasised about doing an inside-job?!
literally my favorite podcast :)
My favourite part of this episode as a Swede you ask? Well it’s a tie between 1. Mentioning casually that another criminal showed up, when it was actually one of the most famous criminals in Sweden, that at the time was serving a prison sentence, which Olson demanded to be brought to the bank and it ended being a government decision against the prime ministers will to meet Olson’s demand. 2. Casually dropping the name Olof in the quote from the woman in the hostage situation when the Olof she is talking to is the prime minister, who to date is Sweden’s most famous one and every swede knows the name of because he was murdered a few years later.
I love this podcast so much! I'm so happy when people talk about science! We need more science education, but more importantly more interest in science
Honestly, this podcast is one of the highlights of my week. It’s so good to listen to and I genuinely learn things. I’m currently organising my A Level folders and losing my mind, so this is nice!
I just found out about your guys podcast from Noah video and I am so excited to watch this!!
luv this Podcast
hey i’m mad at you because you make me laugh aloud in a dead silent classroom multiple times and im embarrassed
forgive u though bc this was very enjoyable :)
So the original animated Beauty and the Beast movie from Disney is not Stockholm Syndrome intresting
It's not but Belle is still stupid for offering to take her father's place being imprisoned by the beast, instead of going back to the village and getting an angry mob together to kill the beast and free her father
@@Ri57490 Indeed
I brought this up in class and my teacher didn't believe me
I’m really glad this wasn’t my first episode
I don’t think anything will live up to the pun train on WHO
I'm sorry this is definitely not the point but am I the only one who is question their set up? Like are they in the same room or different rooms and what does the room look like cuz they are so different looking 🙈🤣🤣 I'm trying to figure it out since I found them 2 weeks ago and I .. am I the only one ??
Love the podcast btw, i learn so much from these episodes just didn't learn how the set up is 🤣🤣
I literally wonder this every time. Is it 3 different rooms or 1 room and 3 different angles. I need to know!
@@xannabelliax glad I'm not the only one haha
I'm pretty sure Corry and Jamp are in the same room, and Luke is following along over Skype or something similar
@@marlenedietrich2468 Thankyou!!
There are some really Major kidnapping cases where people who where being abused and other things got it so it’s not just because the captors were being nice ish. I’m less than half way through so they might say this :)
Were the captors hot? Lmao I feel like this point was grossly overlooked. Jeffrey Dahmer and all his fans? Bad boi complexes…
22:53 stop using Mental disorders like ASPD as "bad" adjectives 😐
Hey, thanks for the comment but this video is from 2 years ago
Cry about it
